Aled Richards

Job Titles:

Aled is a digital producer who joined Telesgop in 2022. He has over 20 years of experience in developing interactive educational resources for schools. During his career he has authored and produced CD-ROMs, websites and apps for pupils from 3 - 16 years old. Aled enjoys working with different media. He's authored children's books, scripted theatre shows, radio and tv programmes. Aled is responsible for Telesgop's education projects.

Dai Rees

Job Titles:

Dai is a senior editor at Telesgop and also oversees all the broadcast engineering aspects for Telesgop both at base in Bay Studios and on location during OBs and events. He has a large abundance of experience as an editor on a wide range of programmes covering all genres that Telesgop produces as well as those of Telesgop Post Production's clients. His years of experience and knowledge are reflected in his works whilst always being willing and open to new styles and creative ideas.

Dai Williams

Job Titles:

Dai is a radio researcher mainly working on the daily Ifan Evans' programme for BBC Radio Cymru, Monday - Thursay, 2-5pm. As well as researching, Dai also produces the programme when the main show producer is away. His voice can also be heard on the channel, contributing to Ifan's programme as well as on other programmes across the channel.

Dyfrig Davies - Managing Director

Dyfrig began working in Telesgop on a free-lance basis, over 27 years ago, before taking a staff job and working his way up to become Managing Director. He has vast experience in directing, producing and as an executive producer on live events and documentaries. He is the exec producer on Telesgop's coverage of the Royal Welsh Show (over 4 days) every year for BBC Four and BBC Wales. He has been in charge over the past ten years on two prestigious and popular live broadcasts per year for S4C (totalling 18 hrs per year) - the ‘Cerdd Dant' - cultural festival and the YFC ‘Eisteddfod'. For both productions Telesgop works in partnership with another company and with facility companies. He produced for three years, live events and live broadcasts around a history ‘travelling' show - the drovers, Royal Mail Stage Coach and the Romani Gypsy trail. This entailed moving the production base from place to place every day, as the live programmes were stripped across a week. He has also produced live and highlights from the World Sheepdog Trials and the International Sheepdog trials for the past ten years, working for both S4C and BBC Alba. He was the exec producer on the European Paralympic Championships held in Swansea for S4C. Experienced in producing a number of documentary films on famous characters and historic events and in dealing with live events and highlights (radio and television), he is also the exec on Telesgop's popular and successful weekly farming series ‘Ffermio'. He has also directed, produced and has been an executive producer on BAFTA winning and nominated programmes and shortlisted for the John Grierson award for documentaries.

Elen Davies

After completing her degree in Welsh and Journalism at Cardiff University, Elen joined Telesgop in January 2020 as a researcher for the magazine programme ‘Ffermio'. Being a farmers daughter, Elen has a passion for agriculture and enjoys being able to combine her love for the countryside with her work every day! As well as her role with ‘Ffermio', she is also one of the presenters for the Agricultural Bulletin on BBC Radio Cymru, where she researches and reports the latest agri news.

Elin Mair

Elin Mair has taken on several roles within Telesgop since 2010, but for some years now, she is the company's Production Manager. As well as filming within the UK, she has arranged numerous international shoots to countries such as the United States, Uganda, Norway and New Zealand. Recent credits as Production Manager for factual programmes include Jazzology and David Hurn: A Life in Pictures for BBC Four, Lily: A Transgender Story for BBC One Wales and BBC Three, Climate Challenge for Sky Vision, and Her yr Hinsawdd, Y Bomiwr a'r Tywysog and our weekly agricultural series Ffermio for S4C. She has also worked on events such as The Royal Welsh Show for BBC One Wales and BBC Four, and the Wales YFC Eisteddfod and the Cerdd Dant Festival for S4C. As well as managing television and radio programmes, she has also co-ordinated a range of education projects for the Welsh Government, for example web platforms about the late Dylan Thomas, T. Llew Jones and Professor Gwyn Thomas.

Elin Rhys - Chairman, Founder

A graduate in biochemistry, Elin began her career as a scientist with the Welsh Water Authority monitoring drinking water quality and checking for pollution. After 5 years she then began a 10 year career as a freelance in media initially concentrating on presenting and writing science programmes for S4C, BBC Radio Cymru and BBC Schools before moving to general programming - presenting documentaries, live events and magazine shows for various channels including S4C, HTV Wales, BBC Wales and BBC 2. Elin founded Telesgop on May the 4th 1993 and has led the company through thick and thin ever since, employing on average 30 permanent staff. In her role as MD she has overseen hundreds of hours of productions; documentaries on BBC Wales, BBC FOUR, S4C, Channel 4 and Discovery; magazine series for BBC Wales and S4C, live event coverage for the BBC and S4C's flagship farming current affairs series Ffermio. Some were Bafta Cymru Award winners, all had quality at their heart. Following a management buy-out in 2019 she is now Company Chair with time to pursue her first love - radio. Telesgop has a successful radio arm producing 700 hours of radio per annum. Elin produces and presents, some series of her own, mostly science based. Above all, she is proud to have founded a truly independent company in Wales and to have enabled so many young, talented, people to enter the industry whilst remaining in their communities in West Wales.

Ellen Llewellyn

Ellen is an experienced broadcast journalist and director who joined the ‘Ffermio' team in October 2018. As a farmers daughter with almost 20 years' experience in radio and television, working on the flagship agricultural programme allows her to combine her passion for farming and rural Wales with a love of journalism. Prior to joining Telesgop, Ellen worked as a reporter on S4C's daily magazine programmes ‘Wedi 7' & ‘Wedi 3' where she was responsible for researching, directing and presenting features both pre-recorded and live, from all over Wales and beyond! She has also worked as a radio journalist. Ellen has a talent for quickly getting to the heart of a story through first class research skills and her attention to detail shows in ‘polished' on-air pieces. Outside work Ellen enjoys spending time on the family farm and takes particular pleasure in helping with her father's pedigree Longhorn Cattle show team. Ellen is also a keen runner; having successfully completed the London Marathon in 2019 she is now training for the New York Marathon.

Ffion Rees - COO

Ffion has produced radio programmes for BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio Cymru and BBC Radio Wales.These include ‘Sir Tom's Musical Years' an exclusive interview between Sir Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews to celebrate his 80th birthday for BBC Radio 2 & BBC Radio Wales. ‘First Cast - Cats' where Ben Thomson reunited the original cast and production team of the 1981 West End show Cats for BBC Radio 2. A revealing and gossipy documentary including Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Cameron Mackintosh, Brian Blessed, Elaine Paige, Bonnie Langford and more! As well as editing her radio productions, Ffion has been a video editor at Telesgop since 2014, working on the weekly magazine series Ffermio and the documentary series Her yr Hinsawdd for S4C and Climate Challenge for Sky Vision. She has edited inserts and full programmes for Telesgop's various event coverage for S4C, BBC Wales and BBC FOUR, and has worked on many education and corporate projects. In December 2020 Ffion graduated from the Goldman Sachs & Saïd Business School, Oxford University ‘10,000 Small Businesses Programme'

Gareth Vaughan Jones

Gareth has been with Telesgop since 1996 having previously worked with the BBC and as a freelancer. He's worked across a wide range of programmes over his 36 years in the TV Industry, including documentaries, factual, sport, news, drama and current affairs. A fishing series which he produced ‘Sgota with Julian Lewis Jones, was twice nominated and shortlisted for a BAFTA [Cymru/Wales] as well being shortlisted for the Celtic Film Festival in Stornoway. Recents credits include the Clipper Round the World Race, Hwylio'r Byd[S4C] Nigel Owens at the Royal Welsh Show[BBC] and Gareth Wyn Jones in New Sealand. He also worked as a cameraman on Davinci's Demons - behind the scenes [Starz & Fox]. Currently he is working as a Director/Lighting Cameraman and SUV [drone] Operator on the Welsh weekly farming programme Ffermio[S4C].

Gwawr Lewis

Gwawr joined Telesgop back in 2007 as a trainee researcher, and since then she's worked as an assistant producer, director and is now the series producer for the leading agriculture programme in the United Kingdom, Ffermio. During the last two years, she has also produced two special hour-long episodes of Ffermio, one with Gareth Wyn Jones on farming in New Zealand (2019) and in 2020 a live programme on lambing from one of the presenter's farms. Over the years she has worked on numerous productions with the company, has produced The Royal Welsh Show (BBC), highlight programmes from various agriculture events in the United Kingdom (S4C) and produced ‘The IPC Athletics Championships (S4C). Gwawr is an experienced edit producer, working across a broad range of events and long-standing series. Currently she is producing a programme for the BBC's ‘Our Lives' strand.

Keith Evans

Keith has considerable financial and operational experience in the media sector. He has worked with most broadcasters and during his time with HTV Wales he developed a strong track record in managing large value budgets, particularly in respect of programming for S4C and network companies. At Telesgop Keith is closely involved in the process of maximizing opportunities in an age of multi platform content.

Leia Cordey

Rhodri Davies

Rhodri joined Telesgop in 2021 as a researcher for BBC Radio Cymru's weekly agricultural programme ‘Troi'r Tir,' which features farming news and features and a look at rural life. He is also a reporter for BBC Radio Cymru's agricultural bulletin - ‘Bwletin Amaeth.' Rhodri grew up in Aberystwyth where his passion for broadcast media was realised as a volunteer and presenter at Bronglais Hospital's radio station. He pursued this passion at Cardiff University where he studied Welsh and Journalism. Rhodri is also an avid singer and is a keen member of Aelwyd y Waun Ddyfal's choir.

Rhys Jones

After completing his PhD degree at Aberystwyth University, Rhys joined Telesgop in May 2016, as a researcher for the countryside and farming magazine programme ‘Ffermio'. Currently, Rhys is the assistant producer for the programme, and has produced the ‘Ffermio' for periods as well as some of the series' special programmes. He's also been involved with many of the live programmes that Telesgop has produced such as the International Sheep Dog trials, The Wales YFC National Eisteddfod and the Gŵyl Cerdd Dant.

Richard Rees

Richard has been a director at Telesgop almost from the start and one of its most senior producers. Richard has been in the industry for over 40 years, having spent 20 years at the BBC. He was instrumental in winning the farming contract for Telesgop and its coverage of the Royal Welsh Show for 20 years. His main personal interest is natural history, and has recently completed a film, five years in the making, on the river Tywi in Carmarthenshire. Prior to this he has filmed all over the world for S4C, including both poles. For most of his career Richard has also had a passion for radio, being one of Radio Cymru's original DJs. He still broadcasts live on Radio Cymru on Saturday mornings.

Sarah Hendre

Sarah joined Telesgop in 2000 to work on the Royal Welsh Show programmes as a Production Assistant. Prior to that she was trained with the BBC and worked at BBC Wales as a News Transmission Assistant for 5 years. Since joining Telesgop, she has worked on all of our live programmes and her schedules are invaluable to our events programmes including The Royal Welsh Show which is simulcast on BBC Wales and BBC FOUR. Sarah is responsible for the music clearances on Telesgop's programming, including the BBC documentaries ‘Music for Misfits: The Story of Indie', ‘John Denver: Country Boy' and ‘Meat Loaf: In and Out of Hell' as well as our coverage of Eisteddfod y Ffermwyr Ifanc for S4C. Sarah also has expertise in copyright procedure.

Si n Ann Davies

With 10 years experience as a Production Assistant at the BBC, Si n moved on to Telesgop as PA, office administrator and joined the finance team. Her experience, commitment and loyalty over the past 27 years have all played an important role in the continued success of Telesgop.

Srishti Berry

Job Titles:

While pursuing her degree in Communications, Media Practice and PR at Swansea University, Srishti joined the Telesgop team in 2022 as a Part Time researcher for BBC Food Nations and found her way into the development team, writing pitches and developing programme ideas. A student of Literature from Delhi, India, Srishti is passionate about the art of storytelling and aims to represent her own community and culture through her work. She has experience in writing for magazines and hosts her own podcast with a friend back home.

Teleri Rees

Job Titles:

Teleri is in charge of the post-production department. She has worked on the majority of Telesgop's productions since 2014, which includes the BAFTA award winning ‘Music For Misfits'. She also edits some Ffermio items.

Terwyn Davies

Terwyn joined Telesgop in 2011, after completing a post-graduate course in journalism from University of Wales Bangor, and worked on a number of different programmes, including Ffermio, Sioe Fach and Dathlu'r Sioe - a series on the centenary of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society. He presented a few features on the Bwletin Ffermio and Ffermio programmes on S4C, and went on to produce four series of Bro for S4C, which saw Iolo Williams and Sh n Cothi travel all over Wales to meet interesting characters. Terwyn is also a familiar voice to BBC Radio Cymru listeners, having presented the youth programme, C2 for many years. Recently, he has produced some of Telesgop's radio productions for the station, including Tommo, Swyn y Sul with Lloyd Macey, Swyn y Sul with Hogia'r Wyddfa, and at the moment, produces the Ifan Evans programme every afternoon from Monday to Thursday. Terwyn is also the presenter of BBC Radio Cymru's farming and rural life programme, Troi'r Tir, which broadcasts every Sunday morning at 7am.

Tom Mann

Originally from North Wales, Tom joined Telesgop in June 2022 as a Web Developer. Tom studied music at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute at both Undergraduate and Masters level, before training in Full Stack Development at Northcoders. He is a keen web developer with a strong interest in Front End Development.

Will Samuel

Job Titles:

Will joined Telesgop in 2014 after completing his degree in Film and Television studies at Aberystwyth University. He's currently working as a producer and creator of the S4C children's series, Fferm Fach. Will also works as an archive researcher and has worked on many BBC Wales and S4C productions doing so, including the Bafta Cymru winning The Prince and The Bomber and Misfits: The Story of Indie. He also works as a part time as a sound recordist on Telesgop's long running magazine show, Ffermio. Recently, Will has finished shooting and directing his second music video as well has becoming a co-producer and presenter of a music podcast.
