Alan heads up the agency department and has been involved in most aspects of commercial property consultancy, specialising in agency work and covering all property types from retail, office and industrial to hotels, pubs and other going concerns. He has also been involved in investment disposals and acquisitions for retained clients and the sale of commercial and residential development land.
Alan graduated from college in Portsmouth in 1992 with a degree in land management and joined Vickery Holman in 1997, later becoming an Associate and then Director in 2010.
As well as his role at Vickery Holman, Alan is a committee member of the Newham Business Improvement District and the RICS Cornwall Area Local Association and is also on the Board of PAI - Property Agents Independent - a national network of regional commercial property firms.
Alan is a keen cyclist and a family man.

Alice joined Vickery Holman in January 2023 as a Development Surveyor.
Alice has over 5 years' experience in the commercial property industry, providing development consultancy advice including viability and development appraisals. Alice also has experience in development land agency including strategic and immediate disposals. Alice has worked with a variety of Local Authority and Private sector organisations.
When she is not working, Alice can be found travelling across the country playing hockey.

Amelia is part of the property management department in Plymouth. She graduated from Lisbon University in 1993 and worked for 20 years as senior account manager and production director in the fast-paced advertising market prior to relocating to the UK.
She has been working as a property manager for two years and joined Vickery Holman in October 2020.
Outside of work, Amelia enjoys reading, going to the cinema and theatre as well as discovering and taking walks around Devon and Cornwall.

Amy joined Vickery Holman in September 2018 and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer in 2020, having gained experience in all areas of general practice surveying. She is based in the Bristol office but is active across the region and is West Country born and bred.
Amy heads up the lease advisory team and specialises in undertaking rent reviews and lease renewals as well as providing advice on lease surrenders and producing market rent valuations. Her experience includes negotiating rent reviews and lease renewals for both landlords and tenants on all main property types, plus dental practices, veterinary practices, storage yards and rent reviews on long leases. Amy has also acted as an expert witness in rent review and lease renewal 3 rd party determinations, preparing expert reports and guiding the client through an often-complicated process.
In her time at Vickery Holman, Amy has also become a principle business rates surveyor, acting on a number of cases and providing advice to clients on business rates savings and mitigation.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys skiing, horse riding across the Mendips and competing in equestrian competitions.

Having previously worked in a Bristol residential estate agent for a number of years, straight from studying a degree in Property Investment and Management at the University of the West of England, Amy moved to a commercial property consultancy a few years later and worked in the commercial agency and valuation departments, while undertaking her APC.
Amy joined Vickery Holman in the Bristol office valuation team in June 2021 and works with a number of clients including pension fund providers, major banks, private individuals and charities. She provides valuations in the retail, industrial, office and residential sectors - to name a few. Amy is a Member of RICS, is a Chartered Surveyor and a Registered Valuer and was promoted to Senior Surveyor at Vickery Holman in 2022.
Outside of work Amy spends time with family and friends, with the occasional spin class thrown in!

Anna is a commercial agent in the Plymouth Agency department where she deals with the sale and letting of commercial properties, advising a broad range of clients across different property sectors including industrial, office and retail. Her clients include local landlords, investment funds, local authorities and a range of national and local businesses.

Becky works in the property management department in Exeter. Becky has a wealth of residential property experience which she has gained over a period of 11 years working for residential letting agents in various different roles. In between this she has also taken time out to raise her family.
Becky enjoys spending time with her family and nice walks in the countryside with them and the families two dogs.

Brenda provides assistance for the Property Management Department.
Having lived in South Africa, where she became a Teacher/Principal, she went on to obtain her Degree in Child Day Care and Psychology.
She came to the UK, where she spent her working career as a PA/Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant working for various law firms, working in the Employment Rights Unit and later specialising in Family Law, dealing with Asbestos Disease, Domestic & Child Violence/Abuse, Parental Contact and Divorce cases.
Away from the office, Brenda enjoys spending time with her family, reading, watching movies and learning new languages.

Carol works in the property management department in Truro assisting the property managers with their portfolios of commercial, residential and leisure properties throughout the South West. Originally from the north west of England, Carol relocated to Cornwall in 1999 and has worked for Vickery Holman in property management since 2006. Initially employed as accounts assistant and then fulfilling the role of property management assistant shortly afterwards. Over time Carol has also taken on responsibility for facilities and general office organisation as well as being the on site first aider.
In her spare time Carol spends time with her family and caring for her two dalmatian dogs as well as assisting with home checks and assessments for British Dalmatian Welfare.

Carol joined the Property Management Department in the Exeter Office in early March 2020.
With a legal background, Carol has worked in property management for many years, having previously worked for The Dartington Hall Trust in Totnes where she managed a large portfolio of both residential and commercial properties.
Outside of work Carol enjoys gardening, walking her dog and sailing.

Caroline assists the property managers on a wide range of commercial and residential properties.
She joined Vickery Holman in 2000 as a junior secretary in the Plymouth office. Using her knowledge and experience gained while being at the company, Caroline's career path has developed since she gained an NVQ II in business administration. Her initial role was providing full secretarial and administrative support for the commercial agency service, before moving on to her current role.
Caroline focuses her attention on her young family and spending time with friends outside work.

Being a well known professional surveyor in the Exeter market, Chris joined Vickery Holman in 2019 as part of the acquisition from King Wilkinson & Co. Originally from London, Chris started his career there and relocated to the South West in 2003.
Chris specialises in Landlord and Tenant matters including lease consultancy and business rates negotiation and has over 30 years' experience as a qualified surveyor. Over the years he has dealt with all types of commercial property including retail, industrial, distribution, offices and specialist uses.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family has an interest in military history, hiking and is part of 4th Teignmouth Scouts.

Christie joined Vickery Holman as a Graduate General Practice Surveyor in September 2019 after completing 3 years at The University of The West of England, achieving a first-class BSc (Hons) in Real Estate. In May 2022 Christie qualified as a Registered Valuer and achieved MRICS status, after undertaking the APC Valuation Pathway.
Christie heads up the Truro General Practice Surveying department and sits within the core valuation team, covering west Cornwall for commercial property valuation and the wider Cornwall area for small scale residential development (sub 10 plots).
Christie provides valuation advice to both public and private sector clients for a variety of purposes including secured lending, accounting (including capital taxation and pension fund purposes), acquisition, disposal and more specialised advice including residual appraisals. Christie has experience in valuing different property types including retail, office, industrial, mixed use and residential (covering private dwellings, HMO's, student lets, and social housing).
In her spare time, Christie enjoys competing in dressage, paddleboarding, fitness and spending time with friends, family and her two dogs.
Clare heads up the commercial agency department in Exeter and provides strategic acquisition and disposal advice to a diverse range of businesses, property investment companies and private individuals.
She graduated with a Master's degree in Real Estate Finance from the University of Cambridge and a Business and Management degree from the University of Exeter before returning to her ‘native' South West in 2007 to develop her career in commercial property.
Becoming a member of the RICS in 2010, Clare has over 10 years of experience in the South West property market and has been instrumental in facilitating transactions of a diverse range of both high profile and smaller office, industrial, land and retail properties.
Results driven, Clare adopts a proactive and pragmatic approach to achieving her client's objectives and enjoys ‘doing a deal'.
Outside of work, Clare likes to enjoy the best of the South West, either on horseback, running, being in the water, or socialising. She also enjoys the odd sporting or charity challenge.

David joined the Exeter office in July 2023.
David has a varied background in residential property combined with secondary school teaching and has joined with particular focus on Disability Adaptations for residential properties.
As a former GB Duathlon Age-group team member (run/bike/run) he is a regular parkrun participant and has recently taken up kayak racing with Exeter Canoe Club. He also enjoys climbing, cycling and camping.

Dennis has a particular interest in dispute resolution being a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and undertaking numerous instructions as an expert witness.
Dennis has a significant interest in building disputes and neighbourly matters; he regularly undertakes instructions both as sole and single joint expert for contractual disputes, building defects and boundary disputes. His involvement in neighbourly matters is not confined to the Party Wall etc. Act but also encompasses dispute resolution, mediation and providing advice on development. This will often involve negotiating access agreements, scaffold/crane licences and advising on issues associated with the Access to Neighbouring Land Act. Dennis has extensive experience of the Party Wall etc. Act and has given many presentations to peers and other professionals on the subject. As well as undertaking appointments on behalf of building owners, adjoining owners and as an agreed surveyor he has issued awards when selected as the Third Surveyor.
He is an active member, and representative, of the Pyramus & Thisbe Club, an organisation for party wall professionals, currently being national chairman as well as chairman of the local Devon and Cornwall branch. He formed part of the working party that compiled and edited the 3rd edition of The Green Book, "a bible" on the Party Wall etc. Act for surveyors and practitioners.
He has undertaken the design and specification of a wide range of projects including the development of housing estates, repair and extension of secure mental institutions and a variety of work within the education sector from nurseries through primary and secondary schools to further and higher education establishments. His diversity of work has included the provision of specialist accommodation such as music seminar rooms, and design of bespoke facilities for specialist users. Dennis has experience of project managing the refurbishment of historic buildings, country houses and residential properties for high net worth individuals as well as commercial schemes such as the re-ordering and recladding of concrete framed buildings. Dennis has managed regional and national projects for clients (one particular instruction having a net fee of in excess of £1M over an 18 month delivery period).
His rugby playing days are now over, but he has an interest in cars, and will eventually, he promises his daughter, get his classic mini back on the road. Having converted a derelict barn for his home he is looking to potter around with a further outbuilding to convert into viable occupation.

Following her graduation from the University of Reading, Ellie achieved a BSC (Hons) in Real Estate. She is currently working towards achieving her APC to gain MRICS qualification.

Gemma is part of the property department in Bristol. She completed a BA Degree in Business and Accounting in 2016 and has recently been working towards her MSC in Real Estate.
She has been working as an assistant property manager for the last 6 years and joined Vickery Holman in 2023.

As a lease advisory surveyor, with 18 years' experience in commercial property throughout the South West, Helen has carried out professional surveying work in both the private and public sectors. Having worked as a Senior Surveyor for Cornwall Council for almost 7 years, as well as a General Practice Surveyor for commercial companies, has provided her with a unique skill-set.
Helen is able to offer clients a range of lease advisory work, including rent reviews and lease renewals, on a range of property types, as well as carrying out valuations for a variety of requirements.
Helen has a degree in Real Estate Management from the University College of Estate Management in Reading, is a Member of RICS, Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer.
Away from work Helen has an enthusiasm for VWs. She, her husband and two children love exploring the region and beyond in their converted Transporter, growing this interest whilst enjoying family time.

Ian joined Vickery Holman in June 2018 as the property manager in the Exeter Office.
Ian has just moved back to the area after spending five years previously as a property manager in Dubai for Savills. Prior to this Ian has worked in South Devon for over eight years in the private sector covering all aspects of residential and commercial property management.

Jade joined Vickery Holman as a Building Surveying Assistant in October 2023.
She has 10 years + experience within Administrative and Financial roles, and received her Bookkeeping qualification in 2016.
Jade likes to be a part of the team and continue to develop herself, so is always up for the challenge of learning something new.
In her free time she enjoys weekend adventures around Devon and Cornwall with her daughter, watching live music, going out for food with friends/family - and the occasional spa day!
