In previous years car buyers were able to secure cash off the rising price of their house but now (May 2011) this is not possble as house prices have fallen dramatically with no equitity in the property. So, the bank is the best place to go. There are other channels to tap into for car loans but they generally tend to be from lenders with high interest rates. Even going through official car dealer financial packages the rates of interest can be high. The other factor is having a deposit. 0% rate interest car loan deals are out there but you need to be in a position to put down a good sized deposit.
