Alan Young

Alan joined West Coast Capital in 2018 to head up the Financial Team. He is a qualified accountant and has held various positions within the accountancy profession, latterly as an audit and accounts partner in a leading firm of Chartered Accountants.

Jamie Hunter

Jamie is Tom and Marion's eldest son and a Partner at West Coast Capital. In 2020, during the pandemic, Jamie volunteered with Street Soccer London which led him to a more active role in The Hunter Foundation and consequently to being involved with West Coast. Prior to this, Jamie worked with fine art photographer David Yarrow as a Producer and Tour Manager. Prior to working with David, he founded a band where he wrote, produced and toured music until 2019. Jamie was head boy at Gordonstoun School.

Jim McMahon

Jim was a founding partner in West Coast Capital in 2001. He spent sixteen years as a Tax Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers and was recognised as one of the UK's leading advisors to entrepreneurs. Jim also sits on the Board of Trustees of the Hunter Foundation.

Peter Cummings - Chairman

Job Titles:

Peter is the Chairman of West Coast Capital. He is also the Chairman and Trustee of The Hunter Foundation and holds various directorships and consultancies in private health care, hotels and construction. Prior to joining West Coast Capital, he spent many years with the Bank of Scotland as Senior Loan Office and Chief Executive of the Corporate Division and held various directorships in real estate, hotels, and private equity participations.

Sharon Seales

Job Titles:

Sharon is our Chief Operating Officer. Sharon joined West Coast Capital in 2003 as Financial Controller and over the years she has carried out a number of roles including finance director, asset management and corporate finance and has represented West Coast Capital on the board of investee companies in both executive and non-executive roles.

Sir Tom Hunter

Sir Tom Hunter is a serial entrepreneur and philanthropist. Tom started his first business selling trainers from the back of a van. He went on to build Sports Division, which became Europe's largest independent sports retailer, which he sold in 1998 for £290m. Stewart Carlile

Stewart joined West Coast Capital in 2017 as an Investment Manager after completing his MBA at Strathclyde Business School and is primarily responsible for supporting our investment in Winchburgh Village as well as our other existing portfolio investments. Previously, he spent 12 years as a corporate lawyer advising on private equity and energy and infrastructure transactions.
