Amber Richardson

Job Titles:

Interests Her interests include fitness, specifically gym and swimming, travelling and going on long walks. Amber qualified as a Solicitor in July 2021 after completing her training contract with the firm and is now heading up our residential conveyancing department specialising in the acquisition and disposal of freehold and leasehold properties, re-mortgages and transfers of equity. She also has a particular interest in Agricultural Law and hopes to build on her experience of working for farmers and other landowners, assisting with a multitude of property transactions including options and promotion agreements in the near future.

Charlotte Oates

Job Titles:

Charlotte joined Broomfields as a Paralegal in 2021 after completing her law degree with De Montfort University and subsequently her Masters and Legal Practice Course with the University of Law. Charlotte is now completing her training contract with the firm and has a particular concentration in private client matters together with dispute resolution and residential conveyancing. A proud recipient of the De Montfort University Level 5 Criminology and Level 6 Law and Medicine module awards, Charlotte has a keen interest in capacity matters upon which she hopes to build her expertise throughout her career. Throughout her training, Charlotte also hopes to gain further experience in wealth and estate planning, and disputed estates in particular and looks forward to assisting our clients in the future. Interests Outside of the office Charlotte is qualifying as a dance and musical theatre teacher at her family's Leicester-based dance school.

Duncan Plester

Interests Duncan is a law graduate who qualified as a solicitor in 1981 and after over 30 years ‘man and boy' with a Nuneaton-based firm of solicitors he struck out on his own in 2010 and founded Broomfields with Mark Anderson. Duncan is married to Judith and their family home is in Leicestershire. They have three grown-up children all of whom have flown the family nest into successful careers. Outside work Duncan plays golf and has a lifelong love of cricket having played the game and represented his school at the highest level. He is also interested in travel, cookery and theatre Shakespeare being a particular favourite. Duncan is a senior partner and founder member of Broomfields. He has a business law degree and acts for a multitude of businesses and owners of businesses. He has a great wealth of experience in succession planning in the farming world and carries out a wide range of property and tax planning work for farmers and other landowners, including options and promotion agreements associated with the sale and supply of development land. He also has a special interest in agricultural law, trusts and inheritance tax. Duncan is senior partner and founder member of Broomfields. He has a business law degree and acts for a multitude of businesses and owners of businesses. Senior partner Duncan Plester and practice partner Mark Anderson combine over 35 years' experience in the legal profession, having worked with land owners, property developers and corporate clients.

Evan Ryan

Evan is originally from Co. Tipperary in Ireland, which is where he completed his Law Degree. Evan qualified as a Solicitor in January 2021, having spent the five preceding years at Broomfields within the commercial department. This remains Evan's main area of expertise and on a daily basis, Evan deals with many aspects of commercial and residential property, working closely with councils, and his client base includes both private and commercial landlords with varying property portfolios and differing requirements.

Hannah Webb

As part of a local farming family, Hannah spends much of her time on her family farm with her two young children. Hannah understands the day to day challenges faced by farmers and landowners, she has a keen interest in agriculture and equestrianism. Hannah works closely with farmers and landowners to advise on agricultural tenancies, possession and trespass claims, right of way issues, and landlord and tenant disputes. Hannah also has experience in commercial landlord and tenant matters including lease renewals, break notices, forfeiture, dilapidations and breaches of covenant.

Mark Anderson

Interests Outside of the office Mark is based in Hinckley, Leicestershire where he is busy together with wife Lisa bringing up their three young children. Mark has family connections in Yorkshire and Merseyside and regularly visits both areas. Being a keen Evertonian he often incorporates a trip to his beloved Goodison Park although more often than not nowadays his Saturdays are spent on the touchline cheering on his boys playing for their local side. Aside from family and football he also enjoys eating out, keeping fit and holidaying to hot and sunny climes. Mark completed both his law degree and legal practice course (with distinction) at De Montfort University, Leicester. Mark then joined midlands based LDJ Solicitors as a trainee solicitor and following a successful training contract was admitted as a solicitor in September 2007. Mark remained at LDJ as an assistant solicitor until April 2010, when together with Duncan Plester he set up Broomfields Solicitors LLP. Mark specialises in all aspects of corporate and commercial property services. He acts for a number of banks, developers, insurance brokers, investors and pension funds in providing a full range of corporate, financial and property services. He particularly enjoys all aspects of land/property development work. Mark also deals with the private client and business affairs of a wide variety of individual clients of the firm. Mark is the finance partner and Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration.

Mary Wormall

Interests Likes walking and also cycling. Is a country girl at heart - her father was a Farmer. She has two children; Katie is an Investment Manager with Rathbones, and John works for Shell in London. She also has five granddaughters. She is married to Terry and together they have an interest in Car Shows attending local ones in their Italian Piaggio Tuk-Tuk. Mary has been with Broomfields for two years, but has known the partners of the firm for many more years. She is our Cashier. Previously she was Senior Cashier at a local firm, and prior to that she was a Sole Cashier for a firm in Birmingham. She did her training as an Assistant Cashier at R S Bull and Co in Nuneaton.

Mrs Kate Burton

Interests Kate started her career as a Legal Executive in West Somerset. Kate then moved to Leicestershire in 1991 where she worked for a legal practice in Leicestershire and in Oxford where she predominantly dealt with personal injury and clinical negligence claims. Kate then lived and worked in Munich for 18 months and returned to Leicestershire to work at LDJ Solicitors as a Partner and Head of the Dispute Resolution Department. Kate then joined Broomfields Solicitors LLP in January 2012. Outside of work Kate enjoys watching her son Richard play rugby. Kate is also a Governor at her local school, Swinford C of E School which she really enjoys. Kate Burton is a Partner and heads up the Dispute Resolution and Employment departments. Kate joined the firm in 2012 and has over 20 years' experience in dealing with a variety of matters and specialises in Litigation and Dispute Resolution including Commercial disputes, Property disputes, Inheritance Act claims, landlord and tenant, employment and general contractual claims. Kate has the experience and expertise to deal with resolving common areas for disputes. Kate is also the Managing Partner and COLP.

Nathan Ratcliffe

Nathan is a trainee solicitor at the firm and will qualify in May 2024 after initially joining as a paralegal in 2021. He graduated from De Montfort University in 2020 with a first class degree in Law and also obtained a Masters in Legal Practice coupled with passing the Legal Practice Course in 2021. Nathan's area of work is concentrated mainly within the dispute resolution and the commercial departments; in particular he has experience dealing with debt recovery and other commercial disputes and also commercial landlord and tenant matters including lease renewals, break notices and forfeiture. Nathan has held a season ticket at Leicester City since he was four and follows them home and away.

Rupi Kaur

Rupi Kaur joined Broomfields solicitors in 2014 to lead the Estate Planning team. She is a solicitor with many years' experience advising on wills, tax planning and wealth preservation, probate, powers of attorney and elderly client matters. She is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) which is a worldwide professional association for practitioners dealing with family inheritance and succession planning.

Rupinder Kaur

Interests Outside of the office, Rupi lives in the countryside near Rugby. She has a busy home life raising two young children who love exploring the great outdoors. In her free time, Rupi enjoys reading, horse riding, yoga and swimming.

Taylor Turner

Interests Taylor is a keen baker and often brings in home made bakes to the office. Taylor carried out her studies whilst working as a Legal Secretary before qualifying as a Licensed Conveyancer in May 2022. Taylor specialises in Residential Conveyancing and covers a number of areas to include Freehold and Leasehold sales and purchases, transfers of equity, re-mortgages, new builds etc.
