VISIBLE FICTIONS - Key Persons
Becky has been designing for over 25 years, her work covers main house productions, large-scale touring, aerial and circus indoor and outdoor productions, multiple site-specific designs and large outdoor ceremonies, including the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. She was awarded the Silver medal for Space Design for The 306: Dawn NTS at the World Stage Design exhibition Taipei 2017. Her designs were selected for the UK exhibition at the Prague Quadrennial PQ19, PQ15, PQ11 and PQ07.

Camilla first worked with Visible Fictions in 1995 in a production of Albert Lamorisse's The Red Balloon with international tours including The New Victory on Broadway. Having just returned from Toronto with another Visible Fictions production called The Hidden she was delighted to work on A ladder to The Stars as she had only ever previously worked on this show when it played in Singapore. Her other work includes DSM at the Citizens theatre for 7 seasons, Production manager for the Edinburgh international Children's' festival for 12 years as well as Production Manager on the well-known Scottish favourite The Steamie by Tony Roper.
Daniel Padden is a performer, composer and musician living in Edinburgh. He makes work with a focus on music and sound, mostly for theatre, film and live performance. His most recent work is WhirlyGig whi ch is being performed at the 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
He is the founding member of The One Ensemble, as well as being a member of Volcano The Bear.
Douglas Irvine is a founding member and Artistic Director of Visible Fictions. The award-winning company's multi-disciplinary work is regularly performed in Scotland and across the world, and under his leadership has been presented in theatres, schools, festivals, outdoor sites, community settings, libraries, on television, radio, the internet, and at international film festivals. Douglas has led on the creation of productions, co-productions and collaborations with a range of organisations including: The Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts, BBC Scotland, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Opera, Aberdeen Performing Arts, Cumbernauld Theatre, The Traverse, Oregon Children's Theatre, and CTC in Minneapolis. He has also worked as an actor, tutor and director with other companies including the BBC, Citizens Theatre, Royal Lyceum, Macrobert, Oran Mor, Scottish Youth Theatre, Queen Margaret University, Leeds Conservatoire, New College Lanarkshire, Glasgow University & Strathclyde University. Douglas is currently a director of the Independent Theatre Council.
As former Chief Electrician for Scottish Ballet, Grahame designed lighting for many shows, including Balanchine's Scotch Symphony and Who Cares?, and Peter Darrell's Prisoners, Cheri, and Carmen. Since then, he has designed for many companies including Scottish Dance Theatre, Claire Cunningham, Ulster Youth Dance, Tabula Rasa, Company Chordelia, Cryptic, Janice Parker, Paragon Ensemble, Scottish Opera, The Waterboys, National Theatre of Scotland … and Visible Fictions.
Grahame's other interests include dowsing and geomancy; he is a Past President of the British Society of Dowsers and a regular presenter at international conferences.
Jo has been a qualified BSL interpreter for many years working across the UK in a wide range of settings. She has worked extensively as an interpreter within the world of performing arts. Her has a background in physical theatre and mime and she has also trained in puppetry and clown. She has performed in many refugee camps with Clowns without Borders.
Her work as an interpreter is informed by her work as a performer with the aim to ensuring that Deaf as well as hearing audience members share the same magical experiences when they watch a theatre show.

Simon has been a judge for the Whitbread Children's Award and the Kathleen Fidler Award, and a guest lecturer in picture books at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Since moving to Scotland Simon has won the Highland Book Award 2006 (picture book category) for Little Lost Cowboy; the Royal Mail Scottish Children's Book Award 2006 (same category, same book) and been nominated for the picturebook category in the 2008 awards for GOAT & DONKEY IN STRAWBERRY SUNGLASSES.
