Back in 1998 we were both working as Senior Managers in asset finance for NWS Bank plc, part of the Bank of Scotland Group. We were both 30, had been talking about setting up a company for a while and decided that if we were going to do it we had to do it now. We met one evening in London for drinks and decided to go for it. It was a gamble, we were working for a large organisation where we had both done extremely well and were on a fast-track career path owing to our sales & management abilities... Both of us knew that we wanted the business to be based in London.
