Andrew Belsey

Andrew heads up the Project Management department and leads the team in Kent. A Partner since 2007, he has been a member of the team since 2002 and continues to manage projects alongside his management responsibilities overseeing the project managers and quality inspectors. Andrew has been involved in the development and construction industry for over 30 yeard. His early formal training was as a building estimator, working for building contractors and a developer. He subsequently moved into contract administration with a housing association, first as a surveyor and then a development officer. His career path from contractor to housing association to consultant employer's agent has given him a varied and balanced knowledge of the development process. He has a particular interest in historical and traditional building forms and a thorough understanding of modern construction techniques and issues relating to building defects. This varied experience enables him to understand the requirements of all parties to a development process.

Cerys Tudge

Job Titles:
  • Director and RIBA Client Advisor ( Housing )
Cerys joined Churchill Hui in 2022, becoming a Director in 2023. She is an Architect, RIBA Client Advisor and Development Manager with experience across the whole lifecycle of development, both in the private and public sector. She has robust knowledge of regeneration, new build construction, building regulations and planning policy, and introduced some of the first net zero carbon (NZC) homes in the borough of a particular brownfield redevelopment project. Cerys relishes problem solving and is passionate about the provision and delivery of well-designed and sustainable affordable housing. She leads multiple long-term regeneration projects with client and contractor stakeholders, focusing on partnering and collaboration. Her strategic approach encompasses advice on quality, procurement, programming, risk management and sustainability to optimise return on investment and placemaking. Cerys has an excellent success rate of achieving planning on difficult sites, listed buildings and in conservation areas. After graduating from University of Southampton in 2002, Cerys studied BA (Hons) in Architecture at the University of Brighton, and Dip Arch (Architecture) and MA Professional Practice (Architecture) at the University of Portsmouth. She previously worked at Clarion Housing Group and Antler Homes. Cerys' young family keep her busy, and her creative hobbies include interior design and upholstery.

Claire Crook - COO

Job Titles:
  • Operations Director
Claire joined Churchill Hui in 1999, and Operations Director in 2017. Claire's speciality is corporate governance, she is responsible for all day-to-day management functions of the practice and leads on pre-contract negotiations and bid writing. Claire joined Churchill Hui in 1999, became Practice Manager in 2006, a Partner in 2007 and Operations Director in 2017. She is responsible for all day-to-day management functions of the practice including facilities management, payroll, finance, HR, bid writing and has increasingly become involved in pre-contract matters and maintaining contract administration processes in line with relevant case law. Claire leads on the training for all contractual matters. Claire is also responsible for the update and integration of processes, taking overall responsibility for continuing certification of Churchill Hui's ISO accreditations for both ISO 9001 (Quality Assurance) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management). Claire's speciality is corporate governance. Following completion of an Open University Law Degree with first class honours in 2007, she completed a Masters Degree in Corporate Governance at London South Bank University in 2013, passing with a Distinction and being awarded the ICSA Best Student 2012/13 award. Claire's dissertation for the Masters Award explored ‘Gender Diversity in Housing Association Boards: Does the glass ceiling exist and if so have women broken through it?'. Outside of work, Claire spends most weekends volunteering for parkrun UK. She is a Event Support Ambassador for West London and co-Event Director for Bedfont Lakes parkrun, and enjoys her non-running role overseeing a core team of volunteers and taking responsibility for the weekly event in terms of compliance, brand values and health and safety. Nurturing a community of walkers, runners and volunteers, Claire is also a Run Director at Laleham junior parkrun for 4- to 14-year-olds and has trained volunteers undertaking key roles. Previously Claire has volunteered as Trustee and Charity Secretary of The Environment Trust for Richmond upon Thames, with board level involvement in the Natural, Historic and Active Environment in Richmond and neighbouring boroughs.

Duncan Reynolds

Duncan joined Churchill Hui in 2006 as a Part II Architectural Assistant, qualifying in 2008 to become a Project Architect. His work within Churchill Hui's architectural arm ranges from schematic planning proposals through to the detailed design of large developments. Duncan frequently takes on a Project Management role and brings practicability and efficiency to each stage of the design and building process. With over 20 years' experience in the housing sector, Duncan has acquired extensive knowledge of residential schemes including private sale, affordable and mixed use developments of varying size. The scale of projects varies from high density urban brownfield sites to rural exception sites. His involvement typically includes initial concept design, development of agreed proposals for planning approval and the technical detailing of all construction elements. Duncan specialises in delivering efficient housing to a high standard of design.

Geoff Mules

Job Titles:

Geoff has over 40 years' experience in the development and construction industry. He initially trained as an architect and his extensive career includes work on Asda and Co-op retail stores, Health Authority buildings and both private and affordable housing. He also has international work experience from time spent in the Middle East, West Africa and France. Geoff was elected as a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and became a Registered Architect in 1977. He was an early member of the Association for Project Management and was responsible in part for setting the entry qualifications. For a number of years he was the Course Director for the MSc degree in Property Development (Project Management) offered by London South Bank University. He also undertook the role of external student visitor for the Welsh School of Architecture. Whilst running the Churchill Hui office in France he was elected as a Member of the French Order of Architects. Since his retirement in 2017 Geoff continues to work with Churchill Hui in a consultative, mentoring and training capacity. He has a special interest in historic buildings, particularly churches. Ian Manley

Ian has been with Churchill Hui for over 20 years. He is now a Director and is largely responsible for traditionally procured construction and major repairs projects. Ian has been involved in the construction industry for over 30 years. Early in his career he worked as an Architectural Technician for a London-based building surveying practice where he developed his design and technical knowledge. Ian then spent six years working for contractors as part of their onsite construction management teams. He spent several years with one contractor working on prestigious residential projects in central London which developed his great practical experience with a keen eye and attention to detail. His time spent on the contracting side gave him invaluable experience and a good all-round knowledge of both the construction process and the practical aspects of building. He is one of the firm's most experienced Contract Administrators, having completed numerous residential refurbishments and conversion projects and major repair schemes. In addition, he has undertaken smaller new build residential schemes which were more suited to the traditionally procured route. He has also been involved in the design and specification for the refurbishment and conversion of buildings listed by English Heritage. Ian holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Building Surveying from London South Bank University.

Kevin Crook

Upon graduating from London South Bank University with a BSc in Building Surveying, Kevin worked at a multi-disciplinary private practice for five years. He gained a wealth of experience in a variety of sectors, particularly residential. Kevin became chartered in 1997 and joined Churchill Hui the following year, focusing on Employer's Agent and Contract Administrator roles for new build and refurbishment/maintenance projects. As a Senior Project Manager/Associate for several years Kevin continued to fulfil these roles and take a proactive approach at all stages of the building process, resulting in successful and smooth project deliveries. Kevin has increasingly focused on pre-contract services in recent years and has procured/negotiated contracts and development agreements on a variety of schemes with RPs and large housebuilders with contract values of £10m+ in London the South East. Kevin is now responsible for managing the London project management team, ensuring resourcing and consistency of service is maintained. As a Chartered Surveyor, Kevin specialises in party wall legislation for the company and continues to work within the core fields of building surveying, defect diagnosis and preparation of conveyance plans. Kevin is also actively involved in APC supervisor/counsellor roles.

Neil Manley - Managing Director

A partner since 1996, Neil is responsible for project management services. His overall practice responsibilities include business strategy, finance and client relationships. He also oversees facilities management, including IT strategy and procurement. Neil has worked in affordable housing for over 20 years. He undertook training with a view to becoming an architect before moving into project management. Throughout his career he has worked in various sectors, including education for the Inner London Education Authority, design and construction of private housing with David Wild Architects, and most recently affordable housing. He also has practical experience in the mechanical and electrical fields. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Architecture and was an early member of the Association of Project Safety.
