Amy Young

Amy Young is an Associate with the firm who specialises in Commercial Property and residential conveyancing work. Amy, a graduate of the University of Aberdeen, joined the firm in September 2014 as a newly qualified solicitor, having completed her traineeship with a large firm, where she gained significant experience and exposure to commercial property law. Amy is able to advise clients on all aspects of commercial property and residential conveyancing and acts for both large corporations and individuals. In particular, she specialises in acquisitions, disposals, lending and leasing, acting for both landlord and tenant.

Calum Slessor

A former pupil of Banff Academy and graduate of Aberdeen University, Calum joined the company as a trainee solicitor in 2011 as part of the team at the Banff office, which trades as Alexander George & Co. Calum is now one of our Associate Solicitors. He deals with a wide range of legal matters, but works primarily in the fields of Property Law, Private Client, and Family Law. Calum also volunteers time with the Citizens Advice Bureaux.

Caragh Gilhooly

Caragh was born in Aberdeen but was brought up in Elgin where she attended Elgin Academy. Caragh initially studied media and communications but returned to the Robert Gordon University in 2011 to study law, after working for the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service for a number of years. Caragh is based at the Buckie office, where she is currently undertaking training in a variety of legal fields. She is particularly enthusiastic about property law and conveyancing.

Christina Matthews

Christina was educated at Auchterless Primary School and Turriff Academy before heading to the University of Dundee to study for her Law Degree and Diploma in Legal Practice. Christina joined the firm in 2007 as a trainee solicitor. Since qualifying in 2009, Christina has been permanently based in the Buckie Office where she undertakes a variety of private client work ranging from residential conveyancing, Wills, Powers of Attorney to Commercial transactions including dealing with quarry leases and purchases.

Derek Caseby

A native of Aberdeen, Derek was educated at Robert Gordon's College and Aberdeen University, joining Alexander George & Co as a trainee solicitor in 1985. He stayed on after qualification, eventually becoming resident solicitor at Alexander George's Banff office when this opened in 1995. After the merger with the Grant Smith Law Practice, Derek continued to work out of the Banff office. He is mainly a conveyancing solicitor but also handles a variety of other non-court related work.

Gail Wiggins

d as a solicitor in 1985 and has extensive experience advising clients on a multitude of legal matters, having recently retired as a partner in a North East law firm. She has vast experience of criminal defence work and has advised client's in various matters from the Justice of the Peace and Sheriff Courts through to the High Court of Justiciary. Gail also has experience of giving client's telephone advice and attending at police stations in connection with police interviews. A large part of Gail's work also includes children's hearings and family work, mostly relating to matrimonial and residence/contact cases. Gail is praised by her colleagues and client's for her approachable manner. She is a Criminal and Children's Hearing Peer Reviewer for the Scottish Legal Aid Board.

Kevin Anderson

Kevin was born in Elgin and educated at Elgin High School. He graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2015 with LLB (Hons) and in 2016 completed the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Glasgow. Upon completion of the Diploma, Kevin returned to Elgin and began working in our Buckie office as a property assistant before being offered a Trainee Solicitor position. Kevin is particularly interested in Criminal law, the law of Evidence & Procedure, and Litigation (both Criminal and Civil). He is also interested in Human Rights Law and Private Client work.
