Christie joined Steven Abbott Associates in February 2007 as a Planning Consultant after five years local government experience in the North West. He was promoted to the position of Associate in January 2008.
Christie deals with all aspects of planning and is continually maintaining and developing relationships with existing and new clients in the North West region and beyond. The local government experience that Christie has in the fields of Policy and Development Control proves invaluable when advising clients through the planning process; from pre-application discussions through to the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals in their various forms.

Christie is an accomplished cricketer who has represented England at two age groups. He has also played for both Lancashire CCC and Worcestershire CCC 2nd teams. In recent years he has played for teams in the Liverpool Competition, the Cheshire County League and the Lancashire County League. He currently plays for Winton in the Greater Manchester Cricket League.
Claire is an experienced Chartered Town Planner having worked within the profession for almost 16 years since 2004 and becoming a member of the RTPI in 2013. She began her career in the planning department at West Lancashire Borough Council and spent 12 years ™ there before moving into private practice, working for 3 years ™ as an Associate in a multi-disciplinary consultancy in the North West.
She joined Steven Abbott Associates in April 2020 and is a very welcome addition to our team.
Claire deals with all areas of planning, with a particular specialism in Green Belt and rural planning. Claire ™s other specialisms including the preparation and management of complex planning applications, often involving public consultation, negotiation with public bodies and statutory consultees. Claire is also very experienced in dealing with Green Belt and rural planning issues.
Claire ™s combined local planning authority and consultancy experience is instrumental when advising clients on their planning requirements.
Jane joined Steven Abbott Associates in June 2018. Prior to which Jane spent 11 years working for a large hotel chain, holding admin and HR roles.
Jane is based in our Kendal office and is the first port of call for client enquiries. Jane works closely with the whole planning team supporting all members of fee earning staff.
Richard has been with Steven Abbott Associates since 1992, initially as an Associate, then Partner and now as a Consultant. Prior to joining the Practice he worked in local government for 13 years and then worked with the Sports Council (now Sport England) for six years in its Southern office in Reading.
Richard deals with all aspects of planning work, regularly appearing at public inquiries. He specialises in open space and sports issues and acts for many national clients including Taylor Wimpey. Although much of this work is in the North West, Richard is also involved in jobs throughout the country often as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
