Ann Morris Animal

Ann will be a familiar face to many of our long standing clients and their animals - she began nursing in the early years of Chris's original practice and we are very happy that she is still nursing for us, as a vital and indispensable member of the Charlesworth team. At home Ann loves to spend time with her family on their dairy farm and enjoys walks with her gorgeous rescue collie, Harry.

Chloe Elliott

Chloe joined our Charlesworth family in 2021 and is settling in wonderfully well - she has a great character and brings a genuine warmth and positive energy to the team that we all appreciate and we know our clients will too. Chloe has loved animals all her life, something we can all relate to - her passion for animals and particularly horses has led to studies in animal care and then equine therapy and rehabilitation at Bishop Burton - her goal is to eventually qualify as an equine musculoskeletal therapist. In her spare time Chloe likes to be outside with the horses, she loves being with them and will dedicate herself to those considered challenging - and of course she also loves hanging out with Darren her per ram :D

Claire Hewes

Claire started working in a mixed practice in 2006, qualifying as an RVN in 2010 at Nottingham Trent University. After working in a busy hospital, developing interests in surgery and anaesthesia, Claire discovered she found chatting with clients about their gorgeous animals really rewarding - she loves nurse clinics and has a particular interest in looking after our diabetic patients and their parents. Outside of work Claire is married to Daniel and is mum to a gorgeous little boy Rowan who keeps her very busy indeed - she has always loved cats and has two of her own, Rocky and Bruce.

After qualifying in 2005 Claire gained valuable experience working at a small animal hospital. Her career has enabled her to lead numerous nursing teams and pass on her knowledge. After working for an emergency and critical care specialist Claire decided to join us in October of 2020 as our nursing manager. Claire enjoys all aspects of nursing and is a keen ambassador of the values that make us a successful team.

Dani completed a degree in Equine Sports Science in 2014 gaining a first class honours, during which she discovered a passion for animal medicine and rehabilitation. After spending some time at another practice, we are so happy Dani joined our team to complete her training before qualifying as an RVN in May 2019. Dani is a talented RVN and loves teaching our students - she enjoys many aspects of her nursing role, recently developing a strong interest in Physiotherapy - after completing some physio training at the RVC, she now runs our physio and arthritis clinics, helping our patients improve their fitness and well being. Dani is currently very busy studying for her Advanced Veterinary Nursing Certificate - this will be another two years of hard study and we are behind her all the way. Outside of work Dani loves to spend time with her partner and her gorgeous kitty friend, Roo. She has a new Sprocker pup called Todd and she enjoys riding, fitness and playing hockey

Dawn joined our team in July 2018 having previously worked at another practice for the past 16 years - we are so glad she is now part of our family. She has tons of experience and is a calm, kind and wise presence we all rely on. Dawn loves all aspects of her job but especially offering the highest standards of service - meeting and greeting clients with their lovely animals and helping them with all their specific needs. Recently Dawn has taken on the role of Practice Administrator, she manages many aspects of the practice and oversees the smooth running of our office In her spare time Dawn loves to walk in the peak district and spend time with her gorgeous family and their numerous pets.

In 2017 Heléna decided to follow her dream to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse and soon after that we are so happy she joined our Charlesworth family as an Animal Nursing Assistant. Three years later and Heléna is well on the way to achieving her goal - she is thriving as a student at Bottle Green Training and is a well loved member of our nursing team. Outside of work Heléna loves to ride her horse, Riley and enjoys country walks and running. She also has two gorgeous bunnies at home and has recently adopted a kitty friend, Nora.

Jane Kinsell

Jane is a Clinical Director at the practice; she graduated from the Royal Veterinary college in 1989 and has worked at Charlesworth vets ever since - she recently celebrated her 30 year work anniversary! She has a wealth of experience in all aspects of general practice and her wisdom and compassion are hugely valued by clients and colleagues alike. Jane has a particular interest in small animal medicine and holds the GPCertSAM in this field. Outside of work Jane loves to spend time with her two girls and her extended family, at home she looks after her builder and her two rescue dogs, Elsa and Molly.

Jodie Woodfield RVN

Jodie began her nursing career by completing a diploma in animal management, joining our team as an ANA soon after. In 2016 she was promoted to the role of student veterinary nurse and since then has worked very hard at Bottle Green Training to achieve her RVN qualification. Happily Jodie passed her finals in November 2020, an amazing achievement! She is now a fully fledged Registered Veterinary Nurse - we are all so proud of her. Jodie loves her busy nursing role at the practice, she is good fun to work with and always keeps us smiling! Her professional interests are surgery, critical care and she is particularly keen on nursing our rabbit patients - regularly conducting clinics to advise on bunny healthcare and husbandry. Outside of work Jodie enjoys fitness, socialising and is mum to her gorgeous house bunnies - Rosie and Rolo.

Kitty joined the team in October 2016 as an Animal Nursing Assistant, but her ambition was always to qualify as an RVN - she has worked so hard to achieve her dream, spending 3 years studying at Bottle Green Training. The wonderful news is that Kitty's hard work and dedication has paid off - she qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in November 2020 and we couldn't be more proud ! Kitty enjoys all aspects of nursing, particularly theatre nursing, physiotherapy and in-patient care - she also leads our Green Team initiative and is hard at work improving our eco friendly practice. Kitty is our Cat Advocate for the practice and ensures the excellent standards of care we offer our feline patients are maintained and updated. Outside of work Kitty loves being with horses and spending time with her beautiful Arabian horse, Baby, her golden retriever Mackie and her own kitty collection.

After studying hard for three years at Perthshore College, Lydia qualified in October 2018 with a foundation degree in Veterinary Nursing - she joined the Charlesworth family soon after and is really enjoying her journey as a full time RVN with such a supportive team. Lydia is a dedicated and kind RVN and we all appreciate her gentle approach and calm presence - she takes great pride in excellent standards of nursing and providing all the love, care and comfort our patients could need.

Nicola Wilson-Allott

Nic joined us as a part-time receptionist in 2019 - we are so glad she did as she's an old friend and colleague, having trained and nursed with us for for 5 years from 2006. Its so lovely to have her back on the team and she brings with her a wealth of experience from her veterinary practice management career. Here she is with her beloved Patterdale, Pumpkin - another dear old friend and the sweetest senior lady; Pumpkin has her own instagram page so you can follow her adventures.

Sarah has been with us since August 2021 after graduating from Nottingham University. At work, Sarah enjoys managing medical cases - interpreting blood results and diagnostic imaging and making a plan to suit both patient and owner! Outside of work, Sarah enjoys being outdoors - running, walking or gardening and plays the violin. She has a cat of her own, Toothless (named after the dragon), a very cheeky boy who keeps her on her toes!

Having previously studied an animal management course, Vicky decided to pursue vet nursing further through becoming an ANA for our team in 2018. Although enjoying the role of caring for our In-patients, she was thrilled to be promoted to Student Veterinary Nurse in 2019 and begin her formal RCVS training. Its been lots of hard work so far but Vicky is so glad she chose this career path and is enjoying every second! We are so proud of how she is embracing the challenges and responsibilities of her new SVN role and progressing every day. Outside of her job Vic spends much of her time looking after her gorgeous dog Pippin and loves to send us all puzzles to solve.
