Jane has helped with a number of very tricky situations where mediation was vital in order to avoid sustained conflict. Henri Mizzi

Henri Mizzi is an advocate, admitted to practise law before the Superior Courts of Malta. Before setting up a practice as an Independent Arbitrator and Mediator and joining ArbDB Chambers, Henri was senior partner at Camilleri Preziosi, one of Malta's premier commercial law firms. Apart from his advisory and transactional responsibilities, he was responsible for the firm's dispute resolution practice, and he handled the firm's most important cases. His work spanned several economic sectors including banking and financial services, construction, communications, shipping, insurance, and energy. The branches of the law he covered were varied and included banking law, company law, communications law, construction law, insurance law, intellectual property law and shipping law. During the last ten years or so of his practice, Henri dealt increasingly with administrative law issues, given their growing importance in the commercial world. Henri is a member of the Committee for Advocates and Legal Procurators, the regulatory body for the legal professions in Malta. He graduated from the University of Malta and from the University of Cambridge (Trinity Hall) and is a CEDR Accredited Mediator.

Jane Gunn

Jane has been invited to speak at the United Nations, the White House, the European Commission and the International Energy Agency and has fulfilled a number of other international speaking engagements. She has also addressed the U.S. Department of Commerce and Federal Trade Commission on the role of Alternative Dispute Resolution in the border-less on-line market place. Jane is Chair of the Board of Management of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and is a former director and board member of the Civil Mediation Council of England and Wales (CMC). She is a past president of the Professional Speaking Association of the UK and Ireland (PSA UKI). She is also a member of the Advisory Committee to QUADRA in Italy.

Mark Appel

Mark Appel has nearly 40 years of global arbitration and mediation experience, having served in both executive and senior executive positions at the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), leaving ICDR/AAA as Senior Vice President, EMEA in December of 2015. An experienced mediator, Mr. Appel is an Honorary Director of the International Mediation Institute (IMI). Since 2016, Mr. Appel has served as Chair of the IMI Investor-State Mediation Task Force, working with state and investor representatives, experts, academics, the Energy Charter Secretariat, ICSID and UNCITRAL on investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) reform and mediation. Mr. Appel has consulted with individual companies and whole industries on dispute resolution design. Mr. Appel also participated in a series of ground-breaking corporate dispute resolution and conflict management benchmarking surveys of leading French corporations.

Paul is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the President's Panel of Arbitrators at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and CIArb Disputes Service panel - property. He is also a member of the President's Panel of Mediators at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is one of the few people dual qualified as a commercial Mediator and an Arbitrator. Sheila Bates

Sheila Bates, MCIArb, CEDR accredited mediator (2007) is an international dispute resolution professional, facilitator and trainer. She has wide-ranging international experience gained in consulting, multi-nationals, financial institutions and public sector organisations over more than 25 years. She is a member of the CEDR mediation panel. As a mediator, Sheila is particularly in interested in cross cultural and workplace and employment disputes. She has an in-depth knowledge of emerging markets. Sheila led the implementation of mediation in an international financial institution as part of its internal justice system. She has led and facilitated several major change management initiatives and trains regularly on conflict management, collaboration and mediation awareness in the UK and internationally. Sheila is also engaged in collaborative dialogue in the food industry to eliminate modern slavery in the supply chain. A fluent French speaker, she trains and mediates in the language. Stephen Bate

Stephen Bate is a British citizen, Chartered Arbitrator, barrister and accredited mediator, with a UK domestic and international commercial arbitration practice carried on through ArbDB Chambers, arbitration chambers in London. His practice background is as a barrister at the English Bar, where he gained over 25 years' experience in a range of civil and commercial matters, specialising in entertainment and media cases, at 5RB barristers' chambers. His advocacy practice was mainly in the courts of the Chancery Division and his work was predominantly contract-based. Stephen became a Chartered Arbitrator in 2007. He is a member of the Presidential Panel of arbitrators at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is listed with the Dubai International Arbitration Centre as a qualified arbitrator. He is also a member of the panel of arbitrators maintained by Sport Resolutions and an arbitrator on the panel of the London Chamber of Arbitration and Mediation. He is also an expert appointed by Nominet to decide .co.uk and .uk domain name ownership disputes. Stephen was accredited as a mediator in the UK by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) in 2002 and has since mediated over 200 cases with values up to £250M in a very wide range of commercial disputes. Tony Marks

Tony Marks has more than thirty years' experience of litigation and arbitration, as a solicitor in private practice. He was a partner in CMS Cameron McKenna from 1983-2008, conducting a wide range of commercial litigation and arbitration, specialising in particular in the financial and energy sectors. Since retiring from full time legal practice in 2008, he has sat as arbitrator in commercial arbitrations and acted as mediator in a wide range of disputes.
