Alex moved to North Yorkshire after growing up on a farm in Norfolk. His background includes formerly managing a large, diversified farming estate in North Yorkshire and working as a Farm Business Consultant in Suffolk.
He works with a large variety of farming businesses, offering advice on a wide range of matters such as whole farm appraisals, contract farming agreements, budgeting, agronomy, environmental stewardship advice and everything in-between.
As a Farm Business Consultant at GSC Grays, Alex work alongside a number of different colleagues, all with different skill sets which is incredibly important to enable us to deliver a professional and varied service.
Alex is a firm believer in taking a rational and pragmatic approach to both farm management and the advice given to others and focus on developing and maintaining long term relationships in order to add value wherever possible.
He is also a FACTS and BASIS qualified advisor.

Ali is an experienced Farm Business Consultant who has lived and worked in Northumberland for over 15 years. Having grown up living and working on a family farm in which he retains a keen interest, his background is focused on Farm Business Consultancy.
Ali can advise on all aspects of farm business financial management, budgeting, financial monitoring, Whole Farm Appraisals and an assortment of farming arrangements. Ali also specialises in Rural Development Grant Applications, helping clients research, plan, secure consents and finance in order to set up new diversified enterprises.
Returning to work in Northumberland in 2003, Ali held a short-term role in Rural Business Development before helping to successfully establish a Farm Business Consultant team for a Firm of Rural Surveyors based in Northumberland, before joining GCS Grays in April 2017, to help set up a the Farm Business Consultancy team at Alnwick.
Since joining GSC Grays in July 2018, Alice has become an integral part of the Planning and Development team. After passing her Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) exams in November 2020, Alice has been involved in a number of projects including large scale strategic development sites to barn conversions and agricultural buildings.
Alice has experience in successfully obtaining planning permission for agricultural buildings including livestock sheds, as well as undertaking reviews for developments impacted by nutrient neutrality and air quality issues. In terms of strategic planning, Alice also assists Calum Gillhespy with negotiating option and promotion agreements with house builders and is involved in price negotiations for the sale of development land.
In addition, Alice leads on telecoms negotiations for clients across the North East and further afield. This work includes negotiations relating to new lease agreements, lease renewals, wayleave agreements and mast sales, providing valuable advice to clients facing negotiations with telecoms operators.
Alice is passionate about all aspects of her work and has a strong work ethic which, combined with her ability to adapt to new projects, ensures clients receive a high-quality service.
Alisha joined GSC Grays in April 2023, as an Administrator in our Chester-Le-Street office after 8 years of experience in the legal sector, predominately working as a paralegal in the residential conveyancing department.
Alisha's role is to support the Estate Management Team to provide excellent service and a great client experience.

Having previously worked in the Film Production Industry, Amber joined GSC Grays in 2018 as an Administration Assistant. With a few office moves to develop her role, Amber now works as the Office Manager for our Boroughbridge office.
In addition to her office duties and keeping the daily cogs turning, Amber works primarily with the Estate and Land Management team as PA to Lucinda Riddell whilst also providing secretarial support to our team of Land Agents covering the Yorkshire region.
Amy has worked in Estate Agency for the past five years, initially as a Sales Negotiator and more recently in an administrative role.
Amy has a great deal of interest in Operations and is therefore looking forward to using her administration skills in her role as Operations Assistant, whilst expanding her knowledge further by getting involved in various aspects of the business. She is based in Colburn.
Amy has recently joined the Kirkby Lonsdale Team here at GSC Grays. She has lived with her mum and brother for the past 10 years on her Stepdad's Beef and Sheep farm which is situated in the heart of Lune Valley.
Amy has previous experience working as an Administrator within the Agricultural sector as well as working as part of a Residential Lettings Team after finishing her studies at college.
Angela has a background in Banking, working for many years at HSBC as a Commercial manager, with expertise in real estate, and more recently with Handlesbanken. Experienced in working with a range of clients from the smallest of new start-ups to estates, property companies, investors and developers. Also worked with a range of other types of business from farmers, those in hospitality and a good mix of other sectors too.
As Project Manager Angela assists with the coordination, monitoring and managing of the Farm Business Advice Service. This involves working with the Estates, Farms and Land teams, focused on the delivery of the project throughout the North of England.
Anna graduated from Northumbria University receiving a degree in Real Estate in 2022.
Anna has previous experience working within the utilities and Estate Agency sectors and is keen to expand her knowledge within the Planning and Development Department.
Having joined the Planning and Development Team within our Barnard Castle office. Anna is assisting the wider team by working closely with clients on the redevelopment of their land and buildings. She is also currently working towards her RICS qualifications to become a fully qualified Chartered Surveyor.
Annie has a wealth of experience having worked in senior administration and managerial roles in a variety of industries, most recently as a team supervisor in customer services and as an assistant to a very busy Estate Agent.
Annie enjoys working in a wide ranging role and uses her excellent customer service skills to develop strong client relationships based on trust.
