Cindy has over 30 years' experience covering Japan equities. She began her career working as an equity research analyst covering Japanese construction, housing, real estate, shipping and trucking at W.I Carr and Kleinwort Benson, switching to sales at Kleinwort Benson and continuing in sales at James Capel and Smith Barney / Citigroup before joining PSA in 2012.
Cindy holds a BA in Japanese and Business Studies from Auckland University and a post-grad certificate in Advanced Japanese, from Sophia University, Tokyo.

Debby began her career as an Administrative Officer in the Hong Kong Government. She has covered the Japanese equity market as a research salesman for over 30 years, starting at Hoare Govett, and then at Smith New Court/Merrill Lynch/Bank of America, before joining PSA in 2012. Debby mainly covers PSA's global accounts.
Debby has a BA in Modern Languages/Philosophy from St. Hugh's College, Oxford.
In April 2015 she became a Director (Non-Exec) of the JP Morgan Japan Smaller Companies Investment Trust.

James co-founded PSA in 2009 and heads the sales and marketing at PSA Ltd, with a focus on UK and East-Coast clients. He has covered the Japan equity market as a research salesman for over 25 years starting at Barings Securities / ING Barings / Macquarie and Pali International. Prior to joining Barings, he was an officer in the Welsh Guards.
Joel has 30 years' experience in investment research, having worked at WI Carr, Kleinwort Benson, Goldman Sachs, ING Barings and MF Global in Tokyo.
His main focus is on electronics industry supply chain firms. Joel also covers bulk and specialty chemicals and other basic materials, plus technology-related areas. His work and views are regularly cited in trade journals and he is an acknowledged authority on the lithium battery ecosystem.
Joel is based in Tokyo.
Pelham is based in London. He has written and been quoted in a variety of publications, including the Financial Times. He regularly appears on television and radio to discuss technology trends.

Lindsay joined PSA in late 2018 and covers Japanese enterprise software companies, with a focus on what the industry is doing to meet Japan's demographic challenges. She spent 14 years working as a journalist for the Financial Times and Bloomberg, predominantly in Japan, as well as the UK and the US. Her coverage will include established names in the field, such as TIS and SCSK (9719), but also exciting stocks such as Cybozu (4776), Solxyz (4284), Poletowin Pitcrew (3657) and PKSHA (3993), which have only recently listed and are generally little known even in Japan.
Her coverage dovetails with that of our capital goods analyst, Will Nestuk, as Japanese firms are forced to use both hardware and software to increase production, bring down unit costs and make up for the intense labour shortage in the country. It also means that we are one of the few research providers covering all three areas of software (enterprise, consumer & internet, and entertainment) with separate dedicated analysts.
Thao joined PSA in 2014 after graduating from Cass Business School. She was awarded membership in Beta Gamma Sigma, the International Honour Society Recognising Business Excellence, and has qualified as an associate member of Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). Thao's main focus is on internet in the Far East. She covers companies involved in the web portal, eCommerce and SNS markets. She also follows other parts of the Asian media market, including advertising.
