Alex Gageanu

alex@vine-works.com // +44 (0)7956 410353 Alex's role involves all aspects of HR from recruitment, overseeing the induction of new and returning employees in English or Romanian, to providing pastoral support for our vineyard staff. He is also responsible for assisting in the smooth running of the finance department. Being bilingual in Romanian/English, Alex is able to support staff in both languages, ensuring nothing gets lost in translation. Before VineWorks, he was an Area Manager for a cleaning company looking after 60 people at a large UK airport.

Carolyn Chinn

carolyn@vine-works.com // +44 (0)1273 891777 Carolyn comes from the arts and heritage sector, bringing insight into business management and engagement. She provides the team with support around HR, marketing and business planning.

Charles Martin

Charles has been involved in vineyards for nearly 42 years. His experience extends from New Zealand, the Cape Winelands, Australia and California to owning his vineyard and winery in the Dordogne. Drawn back to the UK's rapidly expanding and flourishing industry, Charles was a Vineyard Operations Manager in Essex before joining VineWorks. He aims to share all the knowledge and experience gained over the years and wine regions by building strong relationships with our customers.

Cherry Constable - Retail Director

Cherry has been with VineWorks for nearly five years and has built our retail department from scratch. She is responsible for managing and organising all sales: liaising with our suppliers and sourcing new products, receiving all products into our warehouse and coordinating deliveries, and communicating with all customers, processing their invoices and dispatching their orders. Cherry studied at Plumpton College, gaining both a Diploma in Wine Business and the Wine and Spirits Education Trust, (WSET) Diploma. She has judged at numerous international competitions, including the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC), Independent English Wine Awards (IEWA) and World Gin Awards.

Chris Buckley

Job Titles:
  • Business Director & Head of Vineyard Services
Chris has been with VineWorks for the best part of a decade with some time in between spent working in Napa Valley, California and Margaret River, Australia as well as recently as Head of Viticulture and Operations at Artelium Estate, Sussex. His role is to provide strategic and operational leadership to each of the departments within the business as well as developing and leading a team of Viticulturists and Vineyard Managers to provide an excellent package of Vineyard Services to our clients.

Daniel Bojan

Daniel has a Masters degree in Horticulture with multiple years' experience managing vineyards and fruit farms in Romania. Since joining VineWorks six years ago, he now looks after several Kent and East Anglia based vineyards for some of the largest fruit growers in the region.

James Dodson

While studying for his BSc (Hons) in Viticulture and Oenology at Plumpton College, James identified a growing need for viticultural services to support the rapidly expanding UK wine industry. While fellow classmates dreamed of becoming winemakers, James focused on understanding soil, climate, root stock, trellising, pruning, harvesting - everything that goes into growing quality grapes.

Sally Crowder - CFO

She is a key player in upholding our commitment to excellent employment ethics by monitoring our adherence to the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA), Association of Labour Providers (ALP) and Stronger Together.

Tom Reid

Tom began working in vineyards in Central Otago, New Zealand before returning home and working for both Nyetimber and Ridgeview while completing his postgraduate degree in viticulture at Plumpton College. Joining VineWorks in 2020 as our Establishment Consultant, Tom helped clients choose suitable pieces of land, manage planting days and oversee the installation of trellising systems for each new vineyard. Transitioning to the Vineyard Services team in 2022, he brought all his experience and knowledge to share with our customers. Tom is passionate about using results and evidence to achieve greater performances in the vineyard. Coming from a maths background, he brings a keen eye to the interpretation of your vineyard data.

William Mower

Will is your first port of call when deciding whether to plant a vineyard. He assesses prospective vineyard sites and writes viticultural suitability reports. He designs and project manages each new vineyard and liaises with vine nurseries and suppliers to ensure every customer receives the highest quality vines and products to establish their vineyard. Before joining VineWorks, Will worked in the English wine industry for many years whilst attending viticulture and winemaking modules at Plumpton College.
