Welcome to Groundsmiths. Our experience in the environmental and geotechnical sector dates back to 1998, having worked for various independent and 'global' consultancies on contaminated land, waste management, nuclear and geotechnical related projects. Formed after the financial crash in 2009, we established ourselves to serve Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire and the surrounding areas given the general lack of good 'client-focused' consulting engineers. Since then we have completed over 500 projects, work on a nationwide basis, and have developed close working relationships with numerous developers who are involved with the regeneration of brownfield and greenfield sites for both commercial and residential end use. We have also worked with many local landowners who have either extended existing dwellings, or completed new self-build projects.
