Agata Cornish

Agata has been a qualified veterinary surgeon since 2016 after studying at the university of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn in Poland and began working at Glenthorne Vets in May 2022 before working in small animal veterinary practice in the UK, for over 5 years. Agata loves all aspects of being a vet in first opinion practice and variety of medical cases. Her clinical interests are soft tissue surgery and diagnostic imaging. Outside work, Agata loves spending time outdoors with her husband and daughter and exploring the countryside, she is also the owner of a rescued cat George and elderly dog Mufka.

Alexandra Sindrey

Alex graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2008 after studying at Bristol University. Alex has been here at Glenthorne Vets since she qualified and is now one of our Clinical Directors. As a Veterinary Surgeon and Clinical Director, Alex has many duties including: undertaking consultations in practice, completing surgical procedures and diagnostic techniques, medical workups, overseeing the business, and managing the whole team. Alex also completes quality control assessments to ensure we provide the highest standard of care to our patients. In practice, Alex is passionate about communication styles and is always checking in with the rest of the team for advice and feedback. Outside of work, Alex loves spending time with her family on their farm and socialising with friends.

Alice Langstone

Alice has recently started her student veterinary nurse training earlier this year, she is currently studying at Bottle Green college. She joined Glenthorne Vets in June last year where she started her career as a Veterinary Care Assistant. As a Student Veterinary Nurse, Alice is responsible for a number of roles including animal handling, assisting the nurses and vets, cleaning and maintaining surgical kits and instruments, general cleaning of the practice and reception. Alice is passionate about applying the knowledge she gains at college into everyday life at the practice. Outside of the practice, Alice enjoys playing sports and taking care of her dog Poppy

Amber Rogers RVN

Amber has worked at Glenthorne for just over 20 years. Before completing her nurse training and qualifying as an RVN in 2007, she worked in various roles within the Practice. Amber is our Senior Nurse at the Tutbury branch where she ensures the smooth running of all aspects within the practice. Amber is involved in all areas of daily nursing duties but has an interest in Diagnostic Imaging and Behavioral cases. When not at work Amber is kept busy by her horses, she also enjoys running.

Bethan Clarke BVSc

Bethan qualified as a vet from the University of Liverpool in 2014 and has been working as a mixed vet ever since. She moved from her practice in Matlock to join the Glenthorne team in 2017. As a mixed vet Bethan enjoys all aspects of farm and small animal work, having a particular interest in surgery. Bethan is currently studying for her advanced practitioner certificate. Outside of practice she enjoys spending time with her little boy and walking with her Jack Russell, Penny.

Beverley Cripwell

Bev joined Glenthorne Veterinary Group in November 2017 as one of our receptionists and deals with booking appointments, answering client queries, looking after pet owners in reception and sneaking a cuddle whenever possible! She works at both Uttoxeter and Tutbury surgeries and is also our Pet Health Club Champion. Bev does not have any pets of her own but loves looking after her "grand dog" Benson, the bulldog.

Caitlin Mayes

Caitlin is a mixed vet and joined Glenthorne in 2023. She previously studied Natural Sciences and worked in the water industry before retraining as a vet at Sutton Bonington. Whilst studying, Caitlin also reared calves and developed an interest in dairy youngstock. Outside of work she has a cat named Kiki and enjoys working on her car.

Cait joined Glenthorne in 2022 after graduating from the University of Liverpool Vet School. She works as a mixed vet. Cait is looking to focus on sheep and youngstock and has completed her TB testing exam to become an Official Veterinarian (OV). She is also following the Graduate Academy training program. In her spare time, Cait enjoys walking in the countryside. She also enjoys watching Rugby Union and Gymnastics.

Chloe Hawkins

Chloe Qualified from Liverpool University in 2010. She completed her certificate in small animal surgery in 2015 and became an RCVS advanced practitioner in small animal surgery in 2016. After a brief period in orthopaedic referral practice, she joined the team at Glenthorne Vets as a Senior Veterinary Surgeon in 2017. She is experienced and passionate about all aspects of small animal surgery and has a particular interest in orthopaedics, including sports rehabilitation and cruciate disease. Outside of the practice Chloe enjoys running, karate and spending time outdoors with her young family.

Emily Walker

Emily joined the Glenthorne team in 2013 and graduated from Harper Adams University as a qualified RVN in 2016. After a small time away at a different practice, Emily could not keep away and rejoined the Glenthorne team in February 2020. Emily enjoys all aspects of nursing, however, there are two main passions of Emily's when it comes to veterinary nursing. These are treating our emergency patients and playing an active role in the training of our student veterinary nurses. This led Emily to undertake a certificate in emergency and critical care, gaining her qualification in 2021. Emily has also undertaken a teaching qualification, therefore playing an active role in tutoring our students part time at a veterinary nursing college. More recently, Emily has just returned from maternity leave after welcoming her little girl into the world, so if she isn't running around after a crazy 1 year old, you will find her having some "baby free time" walking her two black Labradors across the fields enjoying some peace and quiet!

Emma has always had an interest in animals and after being employed as a Theatre Assistant at a veterinary referral centre, decided to take the plunge to start her nurse training. Emma has a keen interest in exotics and cats and looks forward to being able to complete further training in these areas one qualified. Outside of the practice, Emma enjoys crafting, spending time with her family and friends, and looking after her cat Minnie and 2 crested geckos Callista and Shah.

Emma Mead

Emma joined the practice at the beginning of 2023. She has always wanted to work with animals and studied at Rodbaston where she achieved an ND in Animal Care. After finishing college, she worked at a kennels for 3 years before taking time to focus on having children. Emma returned to work at an equine centre with a riding school, where she worked as the assistant manager. Emma keeps her own animals including a horse, cat and a foster dog. Her latest career move sees Emma join us at Glenthorne as part of the reception team, which she is thoroughly enjoying.

Fiona Ridout BVSc

Fiona graduated from the University of Bristol in 2018. She spent 18 months working in Nuneaton before joining the team at Glenthorne in March 2020. Fiona holds a mixed role spending the majority of her time on farm performing routine visits and herd health planning. She also sees small animals for part of the week. Fiona trains our ATT's as well as being a TBAS Adviser. She is experienced in bull fertility testing and calf health investigations. Outside of the practice, Fiona enjoys running, walking and looking after her rescue kitten.

Frances Fallows RVN

Fran has been a qualified Veterinary Nurse since 1994 after studying at Myerscough College and has held her current position at the practice for over 10 years. As a Veterinary Nurse, Fran works as part of the team whose duties include in-patient care, anaesthesia, nurse consults, and radiography. Fran also has an admin role involved in TB testing within the practice. Outside of the practice, Fran likes to spend time with her family, walking her border terrier Bosley and playing cricket.

Gemma Campbell RVN

Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her Pony Angel, Shih tzu Maisie, three cats Poppy, Pixie and Alfie and spending time outdoors walking in the Peak District.

Jenny qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2019 and has been at Glenthorne Vets since 2021. She graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in London. As an RVN, Jenny has a wide range of roles including handling and restraining animals, providing inpatient care, administering treatments and medications, performing diagnostic techniques, monitoring and maintaining anaesthesia, and assisting the vets. Jenny is also a Clinical Coach which means she is directly involved with training students. Jenny is passionate about anaesthesia and theatre duties and is currently undertaking a further qualification in Feline care. Outside of the practice, Jenny enjoys travelling, crocheting, and spending time with her 2 cats, Clawd and Indie.

Johanne Carter

Jo graduated from the University of Surrey in 2020 and has worked at Glenthorne since qualifying. She started her journey as a mixed vet, but more recently has chosen the small animal route and is enjoying developing her skills in this area. Jo also has a keen interest in conservation and wildlife, and in 2022 completed a 3-month Wildlife Veterinary Internship in South Africa working with incredible species including elephants, rhinos, lions and giraffes to name a few. Outside of work, Jo also enjoys spending time with other wild animals including her cocker spaniel Maya and border terrier Robbie.

Julia Smith RVN

Julia started working at Cooper & Curtis in Balance Street, the practice now known as Glenthorne Vets, qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse in 1987. Julia became Head Nurse in 1995. As a veterinary nurse Julia is involved with anaesthesia, inpatient care, radiography, nurse clinics, taking blood samples and day-to-day duties within the practice. Outside of work Julia enjoys walking her dog Taitti, meeting up with friends and family and travelling.

Reception Manager Karen joined us in July 2022, with over 20 years of experience in the veterinary industry. Laura joined the practice in 2017 and took on the role of small animal credit controller along with providing general practice support. She then branched out into managing the insurance claims, which is now her specialism in practice. Laura prides herself in customer service, drawing from previous experience in owning and running her own business. Outside of work she spends a lot of time out on adventures with her dog, an Aksaray Malakli called Mayte.

Leonna has been a Student Veterinary Nurse since May 2023 and is studying at Bottle Green and has held her current position at the practice for over a year. Before coming to Glenthorne Vets she worked at Thompson Vets in Sutton in Ashfield for a year. Leonna also studied Zoology at the University of Derby for 4 years. As a Student Veterinary nurse, Leonna is responsible for preparing animals for surgery, holding and monitoring animals during operations. Leonna is also involved in maintaining and sterilising surgical equipment and making sure the kits are packed correctly, Leonna also cleans up after surgery. She also enjoys taking notes in consultations. Leonna is passionate about hydrotherapy and would love to further her knowledge and hopefully pursue a career. Outside of the practice, Leonna also enjoys walking her Bulldog Charlie and running on a daily basis. Leonna also enjoys swimming, travelling and bottomless brunching in her spare time.

Sarah has been a qualified veterinary nurse since June 2004 after graduating from the University West of England with a degree in Veterinary nursing science. Sarah stepped out of university straight into the practice where she has been a registered nurse, clinical coach training students and a senior nurse leading the Uttoxeter nursing team. Sarah is now nursing manager for both the Uttoxeter and Tutbury branches and is heading up a team of 17 registered and student veterinary nurses. You will see Sarah doing stock control, nurse clinics, inpatient care, operating, radiography, training nurses and coordinating daily Rota's. Sarah is also responsible for standard operating procedures, health and safety, equipment maintenance and servicing and RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) practice standards scheme. Sarah is passionate about patient care, organisation and motivating the team to be the very best they can. Outside the practice Sarah can be found enjoying downtime with her two children, walking her four dogs or riding the ponies.

Sue Holland RVN

As an RVN, Sue is actively involved in most areas of nursing including Surgery, Anaesthesia, radiography, wound management and inpatient care. Sue is also one of two Radiation protection supervisors within the practice and has recently returned to student nurse training as a clinical coach. Sue is also an NVQ Assessor. Sue is passionate about all aspects of her clinical role and enjoys working alongside colleagues who share her passion for Veterinary nursing and learning new things.

In practice, Tracy is passionate about nurse consultations, anaesthesia monitoring and enjoys meeting new people and working as part of a team. Outside of the practice, Tracy enjoys spending quality family time with her 3 children, and also loves to take her 2 dogs, Rory and Brody, for long countryside walks. She also enjoys hacking out on Bella and teaching her girls to ride on Smartie the pony.

She is passionate about all aspects of nursing, especially surgery and anaesthetic care. Vicky is also training to become a clinical coach to train up and coming nurses. She has a background in farming and horses, and in her spare time she enjoys spending time with her two daughters, two horses and Borde Collie, Buddy.
