BUCHANANVETS - Key Persons
Cara joined us in September 2019 after becoming qualified at Myerscough College. Prior to working with us, Cara spent 5 years working for the RSPCA.
Cara works between both our Timperley and Baguley branches. Her main interests include anaesthesia, theatre practice and feline nursing. She is currently completing her ISFM Certificate in Feline Nursing, with plans to continue further study in feline behaviour.
Outside of work, her hobbies include aerial hoop and yoga. She has two cats called Spice and Ziggy.
Debi has worked in the veterinary industry since 1995 as a practice administrator. Debi also has nursing assistant experience. Outside of work she spends her time looking after her family, her beautiful grand-daughter and her many pets.
Denise joined Buchanan Vets September 2021 as a practice administrator.
She has a Miniature Yorkshire Terrier called Poppy and is a qualified dog groomer which she carries out at weekends.
Denise is very family orientated, married to Steve and has 2 grown up children & 3 grandchildren
Gentiana joined our practice in October 2019. Gentiana graduated from the University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine Bucharest in 2014. She has a keen interest in Dermatology and is currently working towards a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in this subject.
Jade is our Head Nurse at our Baguley branch. After qualifying as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2017 from Myerscough College, Jade worked at a local emergency veterinary hospital for 2 years, before returning to daytime practice and joining us in 2019. Since then, she has also recently achieved an additional qualification in emergency and critical care.
Her biggest interests include high-risk anaesthesia, emergency cases and nursing of critical care patients. She also particularly enjoys nurse consultations and is aiming to both expand our services offered by our nurses and gain further qualifications in this field in the future.
Outside of work, she can be found spending time with her friends, family, and her Cocker Spaniel, Roxy, who enjoys long adventures, swimming and agility. She also has a lovely Connemara pony called Sol and enjoys horse riding in her spare time.
Leanne joined us in August 2021. She previously worked for Vets 4 Pets in Altrincham. She has a Pomeranian called Mabel and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Frank.
In her spare time, she enjoys socialising, watching football and spending time with her fiance.
Lucy started working at the practice in 2012 as a Trainee Nurse. She became a fully qualified nurse in 2015. Outside of work she enjoys watching Dr Who, crafting and looking after her rescue cat Bridget.
Nigel helps with the behind-the-scenes running of the practice, including personnel and HR.
Paul is married to Valerie and they have three grown up children. They have five grandchildren: Charlie, Jessica, James, Scott and Luke. Paul is a committed Christian and is involved in some Christian voluntary work. He enjoys playing tennis and golf in his spare time - to a very average standard - he is also extremely modest! Professionally he enjoys all areas of the job, especially consulting and surgery.
Sara is our head receptionist. She has worked for Buchanan Vets since November 2008 as a Receptionist/Nursing Assistant. Outside of work she has a rescued French Bulldog. She also enjoys competing her horse with her daughter.
Simon graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon in Australia, although he has spent the majority of his career in England. He came to England in 2000 for a working holiday and is still here and is now British. He is married with twin children and dogs and cats.
Simon has worked in many regions of Australia and Britain, although since 2004 he has worked solely in small animal practice in Manchester. Simon became one of the Practice Partners in 2015, and in 2017 completed his Advanced Practicing Certificate in Small Animal Medicine.
Steph joined us in late 2016 as a Nursing Assistant. She is now studying at Reaseheath College to be a Veterinary Nurse. She has a crazy Boxer called Bruce, a cat called Ollie and enjoys horse riding in her spare time.
