Alan Brooks - Secretary

Alan was appointed in 2016. Alan has extensive experience in the Social Housing Sector at Executive or Senior Manager level. Before joining the Charity, Alan was employed as a Consultant in asset management for a large Housing Association - covering repairs and maintenance, voids, planned works, major works, estates, compliance, gas, performance, customer satisfaction and customer experience.

Angela Carroll

Job Titles:
  • Retired Solicitor and Director of Bonnetts
Angela is a retired solicitor and director of Bonnetts solicitors with offices in Whitton and Ascot. For over 30 years she acted for many elderly clients in the Borough dealing in wills, probate, trust and property related issues. Angela went to both junior and senior schools in the Borough, living in Heston for many years, giving her a good local knowledge of the area. Angela has been a trustee since 2008.

Chris Lucy

Job Titles:
  • Trustee of the Chiswick Parochial Charities
Chris has been a Trustee of The Chiswick Parochial Charities since June 2018. He has run his own business since the age of 20, starting in retail and then moving into property. He has been involved in the HMOs, hostels and self-contained units for single homeless people and families on councils' waiting lists. Chris has also been a School Governor, PTA Treasurer, Debt Councillor and is now a Church Warden at St Nicholas Church in Chiswick. Chris joined the charity as a Trustee in March 2022.

David Maclure

The Rev'd David Maclure came to Isleworth in 2014 as an assistant curate to Rev'd Tom Gillum at St John the Baptist with St Mary the Virgin, Isleworth. During this time, David has fostered strong links in the wider community - for example, with the Green School, Atfield House care home and Hounslow Friends of Faith. After completing his curacy, David remained in the parish to become the vicar after Tom moved on. David trained for ordination at Oak Hill College, in North London. Before being selected for ordination, David was a teacher of English as a foreign language in Highgate, and before that in Natal, Brazil from 2006-2009. He first gained a taste for ministry in the Church of England as an International Student Worker at St Michael le Belfrey,York after having graduated.York was where David met his wife Rachel, and the couple now have three children. David joined the Charity in September 2017.

David Woods

David has nearly 30 years' experience of working in development for several housing associations and he has initiated and overseen the construction of almost 3,000 affordable properties in west and central London. He is currently employed as the Development Director for Octavia Housing, a housing association that manages 4,000 properties in west London. David is responsible for overseeing the development programme of new homes, and overseeing a programme of 150 homes a year. David has a lot of experience of working in Hounslow. Prior to being at Octavia, he was a New Business Manager at Notting Hill Housing Trust and Hounslow was his patch. David developed several projects including being responsible for the refurbishment of Farnell's Almshouses for the Charity. David has been a Trustee since May 2014.

Helena Davidson

Helena Davidson is ACA qualified and has worked in Finance since 2002. From 2011-2016 she worked for Doherty IT Solutions Ltd as a Finance Director. More recently she has undertaken both consultancy and voluntary work (the last such work being based in Jakarta). Helena joined the Charity in July 2017.

John Tippins

John has lived in Isleworth for almost his whole life. He is a retired biomedical research scientist and university lecturer. His long interest in housing began with Hounslow Self-Help Housing Association and continued with tenants' associations in Hounslow and the London Tenants Organisation, which he chaired for a year. He was both secretary and chair of Hounslow Law Centre management committee for a number of years, his main interests being housing and employment. In recent years, John's primary voluntary work has been with the Woodcraft Folk, a national children's charity. John joined the Charity in May 2018.

Linda Green

Linda has been a resident in Isleworth for well over 30 years. She lives with her partner Stephen and has two grown up sons and grandchildren. Her working career has predominantly been in local government working within Primary/Secondary Schools and Further Education. She also worked for West Middlesex Hospital and the London Borough of Richmond supporting the elderly, children with special needs and young adults, in a working capacity and well as voluntary. She has also been a Secondary School Governor. Since 2004 Linda have been involved with Isleworth Royal British Legion as Secretary/Welfare Officer for the Branch and various duties on behalf of the Club. Linda is one of the main organisers of the Remembrance Day service. She also represents the Legion as a Delegate and she has attended various functions at the Civic Centre and Community Events. Since 2009 Linda has helped organise several community events which have been held in Isleworth, and this has included the Jubilee Celebrations and the Inspiring Isleworth Christmas Market. Throughout her working and social career Linda has had the opportunity to gain many experiences in life. Linda was a Ward Councillor for Isleworth from 2014 - 2018 Linda has been a Trustee since May 2014.

Paul Turner

Paul has been a Trustee of the Charity since 1989. He is a former Chairman and Vice-Chairman.

Pete Dodkins

Until 2017 Pete worked as a Governance Advisor for Co-op Homes. He previously worked for BT including 11 years at Isleworth Telephone Exchange and as a full time branch officer for the CWU. He was an Isleworth Councillor for eight years and served as Mayor of the London Borough of Hounslow in 1997/8. In 2016 he was a Governor - and had been a former Chair - of Smallberry Green School and was Chair of Credit Union Support Partnership. Pete has been a Trustee of the Charity since 1995 including 15 years as Chair between 2000 and 2015.

Ron Bartholomew - Chairman

Ron Bartholomew was born in 1945 in Hillingdon and became an Isleworth resident in 1961. His early employment was in building renovation and conversion. His voluntary involvement in 1960s housing campaigns led to him setting up Middlesex Housing Association (MHA) in 1969. Ron was employed from 1976 as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MHA and then from 1986 to 2006 as CEO of its successor organisation, Co-op Homes. Two thousand properties were developed and managed for more then 20 housing co-operatives through these two organisations. The first co-op developed by MHA pioneered the integration of wheelchair users with able bodied tenants. MHA's work also included the restoration and conversion of historic listed buildings. Ron was a Trustee of Isleworth and Hounslow Charity from 1983 to 2006 and he also served as a Trustee of two other almshouse charities in Chiswick. Ron was a Hounslow Councillor from 1990 - 2006 with responsibilities including housing, environment, voluntary sector and disability organisations. He was a founder member in 1980 of Middlesex Housing Co-operative and is still supporting its work in voluntary self-help housing. Ron was re-appointed as a Trustee of Isleworth & Hounslow Charity Ltd in July 2010. He was elected as Chair in November 2017.

Sheryl Lamb

Sheryl was appointed in 2018. She has worked in the housing sector since 1989 for (what are now known as) PA Housing. She was initially employed as a Housing Officer but in more recent years she was an Income Recovery Officer. Since 2014 Sheryl was employed as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School.

Shirley Sylvester

Shirley lives in South London with her partner and grown up son. She has held several senior housing development positions in the last 12 years and has delivered over a thousand new and refurbished homes. She also likes to think of herself as being ‘community minded' because she has worked with a diverse range of community based charities in both a voluntary and professional capacity. Shirley's current job is head of development at Shepherds Bush Housing Group (SBHG). SBHG owns and manages about 5,000 homes across 11 West London Boroughs, including Hounslow. SBHG has a varied property portfolio: small estates; supported housing schemes; new build flats, conversions and individual street properties. Shirley's role is to expand the association and SBHG currently has 170 homes under construction with more in the pipeline. Shirley is also an active member of her local residents' association (RA) and sit on the RA's committee. She spends a lot of spare time badgering local statutory service providers to improve local services; acting as advocates for our most vulnerable neighbours and organising neighbourhood events. She has also been on the management committee for a local arts charity and undertook voluntary work for a number of children and youth projects. Shirley has been a Trustee since May 2014.
