Andy Torn - Managing Director

With over 20 years experience in the Building and Civil Engineering sector and an extremely broad and varied experience of all aspects of the industry Andy established A Torn Construction Ltd in March 2006. Andy has taken the company forward from a turnover of £330k in the first year to over £2.5 million in 2009.

Chris Hanley

Job Titles:

Chris has been working with ATC for a number of years and his excellent project management skills have seen major projects delivered successfully continuing the ATC ethos of quality, service and delivery. Chris has managed the bulk store at Singleton Birch, the civils package of the Hull River Footbridge, and the bulk store at ABP Immingham - amongst many others. Chris continues to enjoy challenging projects having recently managed the very successful Hadfield Weir Fish and Eel pass at Meadowhall, Sheffield.

Jim Cunningham

Jim joined ATC in October 06 and immediately fitted in to the company ethos of working with our clients to develop relationships with a focus on delivering on time, in budget and with strict Health & Safety control. With over 20 years experience within the industry, Jim is a dedicated, loyal and much valued member of the company. He has delivered some of the most prestigious projects for the company developing an open, friendly but professional relationship with our clients. He has managed the £450,000 Bennett Associate Office Extension, the £100,000 Bridge over the River Mole as well as the £700,000 MESU project for ABP Hull. Jim has had overall responsibility for the projects delivered at our client Total UK Ltd since June 2010, with over £3m of work having been successfully completed.

Joe Bolton

Site Manager Joe Bolton joined the company in November 2014, and brings enthusiasm, and great experience having worked in the construction sector for the last 12 years on a wide range of projects.

Mandy Torn

As a family run company, Mandy is responsible for managing the "behind the scenes" side of the business. With responsibility for the accounts, payroll, training, marketing, and ensuring that the Head Office runs smoothly, this challenging role means that seldom are two days the same and the ATC office staff believe that delivering a quality service to customers, suppliers and employees is hugely important.

Nicola Rhodes

Job Titles:
  • Senior Administration Assistant
Nic joined ATC in February 2008 as an Administrative Apprentice and has gone on to become a much valued member of the team, being very involved in the day to day admin, management and running at the Head Office and supporting the site teams whenever required. Nic has now not only completed her NVQ in Administration, but has also successfully achieved her AAT Level 3 Certificate in Accounting.
