Alan is a Director on the Cardoe Martin board leading our Building Surveying services. Having joined Cardoe Martin in 2019, Alan is a building surveyor with over 15 years' experience across a broad range of professional services and project work. He has developed particular expertise in providing full lifecycle repair and maintenance advice, overseeing major cyclical refurbishment projects and providing contract administration and project management services for multi million pound insurance reinstatement works to high end residential properties in and around London.
Alan is always keen to seek new opportunities for Cardoe Martin and particularly enjoys building strong relationships with new and existing clients alike to achieve the best possible outcome for their projects. Clients often remark on Alan's expertise, enthusiasm, practical hands-on approach, and ability to deliver on time, budget and to the best possible quality.
Ben has 10 years' professional experience in the property industry and has joined Cardoe Martin after 5 years at CBRE in the London Building Consultancy department where he specialised in Technical Due Diligence commercial building surveys. Ben has managed national and global portfolio instructions for high profile acquisition and vendor surveys, successfully negotiated dilapidation financial settlements on behalf of both landlords and tenants, completed planned maintenance contract works, undertaken defect diagnosis inspections and project managed million-pound refurbishment projects.
Prior to CBRE, Ben worked for Family Mosaic Housing Association where he was responsible for overseeing the repair and management of the buildings and the resolution of all tenancy issues in 500+ social tenanted homes across west London. Ben has inspected properties dating from the 15th century through to new construction set for completion in 2020 and has a breadth of experience across different property uses including commercial, residential, industrial, hotel, and retail.
Ben is currently studying an online course entitled ‘Developing Environmental Awareness' and has installed solar panels on his roof at home to enhance his own environmental and sustainable credentials - something which he is always happy to talk about.
Craig White joined Cardoe Martin in 2016 and works alongside Alan as a Head of Residential Building Surveying. He brought many years of experience with him, gained through working for Shepherds Bush Housing Association where Craig was the team leader for all Building Surveying for the HA.
Since joining Cardoe Martin, Craig has worked at growing and developing client relationships and becoming a trusted advisor to many key portfolios. His strong work ethic and professionalism combined with his many years of experience contribute to successful Project delivery, Defects Investigations and Planned Maintenance advice. Craig is also a Chartered Surveyor with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).

Daniel joined Cardoe Martin in January 2020 as a Building Surveyor at our Sheffield office.
He has an extensive list of qualifications including degrees from the Open University and Sheffield Hallam where he graduated in 2017 with an MSc in Building Surveying.
Daniel's experience includes several years as an Architectural Visualizer, working on a wide variety of multidisciplinary projects, and time spent with the Peak District National Park Authority, performing condition surveys of the Park's listed buildings at risk.
Daniel is working towards becoming a Chartered Surveyor.
Graham Cardoe is the Chairman of Cardoe Martin and was one of the founders of the business in 2001.
As Chairman, Graham takes a key management role including Quality Assurance, Health & Safety and professional training and practice. He also utilises his past experience of sitting on RICS ‘Assessment of Professional Competence' Panels by acting as a mentor and councillor to APC candidates. His vast experience in commercial building surveying and dilapidations is highly valued by staff and clients alike.
Although semi-retired, Graham's role as Chairman of Cardoe Martin keeps him very much involved in the leadership of the business as well as with the professional development of the CM team. When he's not engaged with his Chairman duties and sharing his wisdom on the Cardoe Martin Podcasts, you might see Graham on the golf course, where he plays off 12.
Helen joined Cardoe Martin to assist with the growth and development of our Sheffield Office. Besides managing the day-to-day running of the office and undertaking a range of administrative duties, Helen is assisting with the planning and deployment of large-scale projects.
Helen's background includes extensive experience working in sales and administration within different industries and Helen also spent several years working in education as a qualified teacher and has a BA Hons in History.
Lewis Pope joined Cardoe Martin in 2014 as a Trainee Building Surveyor and in the years since he has completed his degree in Building Surveying in 2017.
Lewis bought with him two years of property management experience which also saw him being awarded "Best Residential Property Management Apprentice Award 2014" which was presented by RICS (the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) prior to transition to a career in Building Surveyor.
Lewis manages his own projects as well as assisting the senior team in more complex instructions as part of his development towards gaining RICS Chartered Status. Lewis has expertise in planning and development matters, health & safety advice, and measured surveys.

Liam moved to London from South Africa in 2017 and started working with Cardoe Martin in March 2020.
Although Liam completed his BA in International Relations it was whilst working as a Sales Consultant for an online courses company that he discovered his interest in data and analytics.
Since then he has undertaken specialist training in SQL, Data Analytics and advanced Excel. Liam uses his skills to help Cardoe Martin organise our data and assess trends so that we can enhance our business processes and efficiency to provide better client service.
He enjoys playing the piano and his ukulele and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro at age 15 and he is aiming to make an even bigger climb in the next few years.
Michael Kemp's specialist areas include litigation and he regularly acts as an expert, in connection with Landlord and Tenant, disrepair and property disputes. He also has extensive experience of the Party Wall Act 1996 and defects analysis.
Michael is involved in the professional development of junior surveyors in preparation for the RICS APC and has acted as an assessor for the RICS in determining the suitability of other candidates for professional election.
Michael is a prominent member of the London Branch of The Pyramus and Thisbe Club, a club for party wall specialists, and sits on its National Council. Michael is responsible for the instigation and development of the London Branches hugely successful programme of evening seminars and is widely selected as a Third Surveyor.
Michael graduated from the University of Reading in 1978 and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1982. Michael established his own practice, Kemp & Co. in 1989 operating mainly in the residential sector providing a wide range of building surveying services to private clients. In 2005 the building surveying practice of Kemp & Co. and Cardoe Martin Limited merged to create a broadly-based practice offering a wider range of specialist Building Surveying Services.
Michael is retained as a Consultant Building Surveyor for Cardoe Martin Limited.

Michael McAleer joined Cardoe Martin as a Senior Building Surveyor in March 2019 to work alongside Craig, Alan and Liam in our Residential Surveying team.
His extensive previous career includes working at Pellings and at A2 Dominion where he worked for 17 years as a critical part of their Building Surveying delivery team.
Specialising in management of cyclical maintenance works, reactive maintenance, technical advice for Licences to Alter, and defect investigation and remedy, Michael brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our Residential Surveying team.
Michael continues to deliver complex work with skill and diligence. Always aiming to provide excellent advice to clients on complex defects at properties and advise on maintenance strategies.

Richard Pegman joined Cardoe Martin in 2015 from a leading commercial surveying consultancy, bringing with him specialist experience in surveying and contract administration experience within the insurance sector dealing with major peril related damage.
As Interim Managing Director, Richard takes a lead role in the business which sees him working alongside Graham Cardoe on compliance, training, quality assurance, and health & safety. Richard's high standards and natural attention to detail, along with his extensive knowledge on construction and defects have made him a trusted advisor to many of his clients.
Since he became Chartered in 2005, Richard has built up a wealth of experience with the Party Wall etc Act 1996 matters but he also maintains a varied workload by leading our residential surveys service line as well as managing major projects and handling Dilapidations enquiries.
