Roger Downes - Managing Director

Job Titles:
  • Managing Director
Roger Downes FCA is the Managing Director of Andorran with all the responsibilities that the title would suggest. Roger has been the driving force behind the firm since he founded it in 1998 and remains so today. Having trained and qualified in a national firm, Roger became an equity partner there at the tender age of 30, one of the youngest appointments made by the firm. He quickly became a key member of the firm's National Executive Committee, with responsibility for monitoring the performance of all the offices outside London. For the last two years of his time with them, Roger was Managing Partner of the firm's Manchester office. An auditor in his early days, Roger is the firm's Registered Individual under Andorran's audit registration with the institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. However it is an experienced business advisor to the owner-managed business sector that is the firm's core client base, where Roger is best known. Using his expertise of running his own business as well as having helped many others over the years, Roger adds value to all of the firm's owner managed businesses. Roger holds the quality and timeliness of client service extremely dear, believing that these aspects are the key differentiation between firms servicing the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise market, and are therefore the main reasons for the success that Andorran enjoys. A keen sportsman, Roger spent several years as director of Cheltenham Town Football Club, and was honoured to be Captain a few years ago at his golf club, Naunton Downs, where he is currently Honorary Treasurer. Over the years Roger has done work with the voluntary sector and was a sports reporter on what was then Severn Sound Radio.
