Abi Bryant

At her previous practice Abi was primarily working on residential extensions. Prior to this she created models used to illustrate the re-design of the Medieval and Renaissance galleries for the V&A museum. Since starting at Axiom in 2015, Abi has been assisting in the design and detailing of the restaurant and bar areas for large scale commercial projects including an internationally recognised hotel brand. Abi enjoys climbing and comic books but currently finding time for the former is more difficult while juggling being a mum to four children.

Adrian Johnson

Adrian has over ten years' experience across a diverse range of sectors, from high-end residential refurbishments in London to fast-track commercial projects in Scotland. With a particular interest in working with listed buildings, challenging sites and exacting briefs, Adrian has developed a broad understanding and rounded skill set to deliver exceptional projects whatever the constraints of brief or budget.

Alessandro Torchio

Alessandro graduated with a Master of Architecture from the Polytechnic of Turin in 2016 and worked for award-winning practices before joining Axiom Architects, such as Allies and Morrison and Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands. He possesses strong communication and technical skills, demonstrating the ability to deliver projects through all RIBA stages. Throughout his career, Alessandro has amassed extensive experience in the residential and hospitality sectors, working on projects ranging from residential and hotel developments to urban regeneration schemes. Currently, Alessandro is leading and delivering a 700-unit student development in Hammersmith. Outside of work, he enjoys various sports such as football, volleyball, and padel. Additionally, Alessandro likes to cook and travel around the world to explore new architecture and cultures.

Alex Bailey

Alex studied Architecture at London Southbank University. With over 16 years experience in the hotel sector he has been influential in the development of some of the UK's leading hotel brands. As well as Architecture, Alex is a strong interior designer, assisting clients in setting up their brand standards in the UK and Europe. His extensive experience in conversions of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings has allowed him to concentrate on developing large sites in London, and other major capital cities. Alex prides himself in ensuring his clients achieve the highest return for their investment

Alex Durn

Alex has enjoyed working in architectural practice since 2004, with previous experience in residential design, including one-off houses. During this period he has been part of design teams working on large London regeneration schemes with other periods spent on single bespoke dwellings. Throughout these projects he has honed his interest in residential architecture and interiors, in particular Scandinavian design.

Alex Porter

Alex is a highly proficient and motivated Architectural Technologist with over 23 years' experience within the industry. Alex has a keen eye for design and enjoys a creative challenge, especially those involving unconventional construction methods and out-of-the-box problem-solving. Alex continues to develop his professional knowledge and expertise, successfully achieving his MCIAT Chartership in 2020. Alex joined Axiom with a wealth of knowledge in the education, commercial and residential sectors, having successfully ran jobs for local authorities, private businesses, and housing associations in his previous roles. Notable projects include Beechfield Avenue housing development, Charlton's Furniture Store, Cockington School extension and Paignton Rowing Club. Joining Axiom in 2014, Alex has honed his specialism in construction detailing within the hospitality sector, with a more recent focus on fire safety and prevention. This has involved producing model fire-stopping standards and managing cladding remediation works. In his spare time, Alex enjoys getting out and about with his children and watching football.

Amy King

Graduating with a BA Honours in Architecture from the University of Brighton, Amy previously worked for the award winning practice Box9 Design specialising in interior architecture in the restaurant and hospitality sector. Recent projects include Manteca, Riding House Bloomsbury and Bermondsey Boxing Club in London, UK. Having joined Axiom in the Lewes practice, Amy is working on a range of projects including residential schemes, hotel design and commercial projects. Alongside her work, Amy continues her academic development undertaking a MArch to gain her RIBA Part II. In her spare time, Amy is a keen cyclist and enjoys time with her two girls.

Andrew Batty

With over 15 years of working in Architectural Practice, Andrew has developed an extensive technical knowledge of construction, across a diverse range of sectors. Early in his career a focus on sustainability led to him qualifying as a BREEAM assessor. As a recent affiliate member of CIAT, Andrew is now working towards becoming a Chartered Architectural Technologist. Since joining Axiom in 2015 Andrew has become a versatile job runner specialising in hotels, delivering projects from inception through to completion. He has worked for a range of clients with differing briefs, his versatility, technical ability and attention to detail always results in a high-quality finish.

Conor Foster

Conor joined Axiom Architects in September 2023, working in our Exeter office he has been assisting on a series of challenging rooftop hotel extensions in Central London. He has an interest in materiality and sustainability, in particular retrofitting older buildings for modern use. He completed his Part 1 at Kingston University London, where he developed an interest in tectonics and materiality. Then going on to study his Part 2 at the University of Liverpool, where he represented his team at the final of the 3DReid student prize. He has previous experience working in London as a part 1 assistant in the residential sector, as well as freelance work as a model maker. When he isn't in the office, Conor spends his free time between; training as a powerlifter, hiking on Dartmoor, and furthering his skills on the electric guitar.

Craig Higlett

Craig has over 16 + years of experience within the construction design industry and architectural practice. Working on commercial hotel projects, residential pre-fabricated modular homes and even fire sprinkler design, he has developed a detailed understanding of numerous types of construction, design methods and systems. Craig enjoys technical detailing and relishes a design challenge when developing construction information and continues to improve and develop his professional skills and became a chartered member of CIAT in 2022. In the recent wake of changing cladding regulations, Craig has helped the Axiom team developed knowledge and experience in the design of replacement facade systems. Providing technical and detail drawings, NBS specifications and reports, for planning, tender and construction in accordance with ever changing building regulations and guidance. He has gained a detailed knowledge of the requirements for the remediation of cladding on high rise buildings, incorporating safety and new designs subjects to clients needs. Craig has also undertaken site investigations of existing building cladding systems, looking for non-compliant construction and materials within the façade and reporting findings. As well as a monitoring process of cladding projects while on site within the construction phase. Craig also enjoys running and cycling in his spare time, taking on various challenges along with Axiom colleagues, such as cycling sportives and running races, while taking part and watching a variety of other sports whenever he gets the chance.

David Hutchings

Dave has over twenty-five years experience in property both personally and professionally starting at site level then as a qualified carpenter, he then proceeded to pursue a career in architecture so initially studied Computer aided design and went onto study at Brighton University obtaining an HNC in Building Studies. Having also studied interior and landscape design at Brighton College, he is well versed in finding solutions to many different applications in the Built Environment. His architectural experience at Axiom spans a diverse range of projects from hotels, pubs, restaurants, retail, industrial and residential and has some experience in listed buildings. He uses collaborative, commercial approaches to provide solutions to both design and construction methods. Recent assignments include fire remediation, collaborating with various parties from initial intrusive investigations, through to planning, design and on-site attendance and co-ordination to final handover resolving issues as they occur during the remediation process. He has also attended the RIBA's accredited Principal Designer course to further his knowledge and understanding of the principal designer's role.

David Viljoen

Elina Andreou

Elina is a creative and enthusiastic Part II Architectural Assistant working in our Exeter office. She completed her BA (Hons) degree at the University of Sheffield and her MArchD degree at the Oxford Brookes University, with a specialisation in Sustainable Architecture. She is planning to start working towards obtaining her RIBA Part III to become a fully qualified Architect. Having joined Axiom Architects LLP in August 2023 she is currently working on a number of hotel extension projects on challenging sites, including one within Edinburgh's UNESCO world heritage site, with views of the castle. She previously worked in the private residential and commercial sectors, with some experience gained overseas. Outside of work, Elina has a passion for painting, designing or simply sketching. She is also a sea-scout in her home country, Cyprus, and frequently spends her spare time creating designs and logos for scouting events. She also enjoys camping and sailing.

Elliot Moyo

Elliot has a BA Hons degree in Architecture which he obtained in 2013 at De Montfort University. Elliot has eight years of experience in the architectural industry. He has worked in several sectors, including civic, retail, student housing and hotel. Elliot is very passionate about producing the highest quality of work and good attention to detail. In the last 2.5 years, while at Axiom, Elliot has gained facade design experience and is working on a few re-clad projects. As of late, he has been learning how to manage and take a more prominent role in the design process. His hobbies consist of Architectural visuals, animation, detail design and film.

Finnian Kelly

BSc (Hons) MArch ARB / RIBA Finnian graduated with a master of architecture in 2008. Following his graduation, he worked for four years with a Brighton based architects specialising in high end commercial and retail projects throughout London and the South East of England. He then worked in London for four years predominantly in the luxury housing market bringing projects from feasibility to completion. Prior to starting with Axiom Architects in 2017, he acted as a volunteer architect on the border of Thailand and Myanmar working with displaced Burmese migrants helping to construct several buildings for charities and NGO's, using locally sourced sustainable materials. Finnian has recently helped deliver several large hospitality projects through to completion with Axiom Architects.

Flavio Pettinelli

Flavio is graduated with a master of architecture from the Faculty of Architecture of Rome "La Sapienza" in 2014. Before moving to UK, Flavio gained significant experience in housing and regeneration schemes working in the Netherlands for different studios in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague. In the recent years, Flavio has worked in London on a range of projects, including new built housing projects, hospitality schemes, listed buildings and private residential. Flavio has recently joined the Axiom London team. He's involved in the design of a new built hotel in Twickenham and the transformation of a listed building in central London into short stay accommodations. Outside of work, Flavio is a record collector and passionate music individual Djing for local radio stations.

Imogen Bryce

Imogen is an enthusiastic and passionate Part 2 Architectural Assistant. She studied at the University of Nottingham, achieving a First Class BA(Honours) and MArch Masters in Architecture, whilst simultaneously tutoring first year architecture students. She has worked in award winning practices in London and the South West, gaining a range of experience across a variety of sectors; retail and hospitality, large-scale residential, private residential and conservation and heritage projects. Joining Axiom Architects in summer 2022 Imogen has quickly established herself as an effective designer, with excellent presentation and graphic skills. She is planning to start her Part 3 to complete her training to become a fully qualified Architect. Outside of work, Imogen likes to play the occasional game of netball and is a keen surfer.

James Mitchell

James is an architect and a champion of high quality architecture. With over 16 years experience, he leads Axiom's London office. He has strong design and conceptual skills, and combines commercial and technical understanding to deliver projects through all RIBA Stages. James' role within the London team is wide ranging, leading multiple projects from feasibility to practical completion. He is currently leading 2x Hub by Premier Inn hotel projects in the City of London, a 400x bedroom hotel and a 700x unit student development both in hammersmith. James regularly commentates on the built environment, and is chair of the 'New London Architecture Expert Panel for High Streets'. A panel set up with the built-environment leaders to contribute to the New London Agenda, and new mayoral candidate. James is co-chair of the London Planning in Development forum. Set up in 1980, the forum meets quarterly to discuss planning and wider topics that shape and face London. The forum comprises local authorities, developers, house builders and consultants from the RIBA, RTPI, RICS and other professional bodies He recently contributed to the All-Party Parliamentary Group 'Suburban Taskforce' by providing a thought leadership piece called 'A place to nowhere', a study exploring the spatial and qualitative conditions of London's suburbs:

Jamie Griffin

Jamie studied architecture at London Southbank university and graduated in June 2022, here he gained experience working on a wide variety of projects. Following his time at university Jamie went on a month long trip to Zambia, as to where he aided in both the design and construction of a kindergarten for the local community. Jamie has only just began his job at Axiom. However, he is very much looking forward to getting to work on some of the ongoing projects.

After joining Axiom Architects in 2019, Lidia worked extensively on feasibility and planning stages for a variety of projects; from residential schemes to commercial, cultural and hospitality buildings. She is proficient in a variety of 3d and 2d software such as Revit, Vectorworks, Rhino+ Grasshopper, and Adobe Creative Suite and enjoys using digital drawing for concept drawings of internal and external works. Lidia has recently completed her Part 3 with the RIBA and is now a fully qualified architect. In her spare time she enjoys cycling, travelling and street photography.

Lizzie Richards

Lizzie had a broad range of experience before joining Axiom, coming from various roles in banking and accounting in industry and is close to becoming a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians. Lizzie has been at Axiom since 2015 and works closely with Marion, supporting her and the Partners in maintaining financial records, processing payments, managing the sales ledger and ad hoc financial/administrative tasks. Outside of the office Lizzie is a busy mum who enjoys most outdoor activities, travelling, spending time in the theatre watching plays & musicals or helping with local amateur dramatics groups, watching live music, swimming and drifting away to another place with a good book.

Lukas Petrykow

Lukas is an ARB registered Architect with over 20 years of experience following graduation from the Canterbury School of Architecture in 2001. He has a wealth of experience but has predominantly focused on the residential, commercial and education sectors working within both private practice and for the local authority as an Architect for Brighton and Hove City Council. Since joining Axiom, Lukas has worked on a range of projects, including hotels, residential schemes and reclad and upgrade schemes. He is adept at and enjoys dealing with technical challenges and problem solving. In his spare time, Lukas enjoys reading, socialising, and spending time with his family, 2 dogs and the family (children's) horse!

Luke Bray

Luke studied Architecture at the University of Wales, Cardiff and has over 15 years experience working in Architectural practice, with experience across residential, educational and heritage projects. Since joining Axiom in 2011, Luke has been instrumental in leading the development of complex projects from feasibility to completion, including flagship hotels in Kings Cross, Farringdon and Shoreditch. Luke became partner in 2016 and oversees the delivery of projects across London and the South East. Luke also looks after technical development within the office, leading innovations in BIM and project planning. Luke has a real passion for the making of things and enjoys working closely with contractors and other specialists to develop solutions both high in quality and practical to construct. When he gets a moment outside of the office Luke enjoys designing and making furniture, playing golf and dragging his young family and dog out walking.

Marion Stewart

Marion is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians. She has many years' experience in various financial roles from Building Society head office to educational finance via a small logistics company. Marion joined Axiom Architects as Practice Manager in 2012. Since then, her responsibilities have developed to keep in line with national, legislative and industry changes to support the continual development of the Practice. She works closely with, supports and advises the Partners enabling them to focus on the core business of the Practice. On a daily basis she manages the financial, HR and administrative functions at Axiom Architects. When not at work and more recently since lockdown Marion enjoys spending time tending her garden. Summer holidays recently have been spent on driving holidays exploring parts of Europe that you would miss by flying in and out of various cities. So far with her husband they have been north into Norway & Sweden, south to Spain & Portugal and the next trip will take them east across to Romania and all places in between. On winter days she can spend many hours following the endless paths of investigation which open up when researching family history.

Murtaza Murtaza

Murtaza is a PART II qualified Architect with creative and technical experience in the mixed-use residential, cultural, and private housing sectors. He has acquired his experience from leading practices in Dubai, Marseille, London and Brighton, where he pursued projects ranging from 50+ storey towers to underground markets. He has also taught architectural design to undergraduate students for 2 years at the Leicester School of Architecture, before moving down South. Having recently joined Axiom, Murtaza shares responsibilities on Axiom's mixed-use residential and student accommodation schemes in England. With Axiom, he intends to acquire his PART III qualification and further down the line pursue his Ph.D. Living by the beach, Murtaza enjoys a good swim, long walks, regular meditation and a good chippy!

Patrick Vaziri-Zanjani

Patrick obtained a BSc Honours degree in ‘Architectural technology' from Brighton university in 2015. Joined the practice in 2016 assisting with PI & HUB projects from refurbishments to new builds. Patrick was then instrumental in modernising the manual CAD standards introducing 3D data driven workflows. He continues to review and advance our company standards. To date he provides in-house Vectorworks support for all employee's and provides Vectorworks training whilst assisting in 3D model projects. He is currently training to become a certified 'Vectorworks trainer' and 'BIM Coordinator'. Patrick specialises in 3D modelling and has also recently introduced 3D printing into the practice.

Paul Morris

Paul graduated from the Bartlett school of Architecture in 1985 and worked in various London practices for a number of years before joining Axiom Architects in Lewes in 1997. As Architecture spanning over 35 years, Paul brings a wealth of experience and a pragmatic approach to design and problem solving to any project, from conception through to completion. Development programmes for many of the country's favourite brands. Outside of the office Paul enjoys spending time exploring the beauty of the south west countryside and coastline, walking with his dogs and toiling up the many hills on his bike.

Robert Whitten

Robert is a talented Project Architect and team leader with a combination of design skills and technical competency, which make him a true all-rounder. Robert grew up in the South West and moved to London to study at Kingston University, achieving a BA Hons and PG Diploma in Architecture. After a number of years working in London he joined Axiom and returned to the South West where he completed his Part 3 at UWE. He has extensive experience working in a range of sectors; Residential, Student housing, Higher Education, Commercial and Hospitality. Most notably he led the successful planning stages for the redevelopment of Camberwell College of Art for the University of the Arts London. Since joining the practice in 2015 he has largely been immersed in hotel and restaurant projects for our core clients, delivering successful projects on some challenging sites from feasibility to completion. Robert has successfully led some high-profile commercial developments in sensitive, town centre conservation areas across the South West. Robert's drive and ambition has been recognised within the profession with a place on the longlisting for the 2020 RIBA Rising Star Award and as a finalist in the South West Property Awards 2021 Rising Star category. Being a keen cyclist, he regularly utilises two wheels to engage with fellow construction professionals, including riding the 1500km from London to MIPIM in 2018 with Club Peloton, a challenge he would like to repeat.
