I started at Clarke Jeffreys in July 2021 having previously been working in insurance for the past 7 years working for another local insurance business.I am Cert CII qualified and can help new and existing clients with their Personal Home, Car and Travel Insurances.Outside of work I have two young children that keep me on my toes and I enjoy going on holiday and seeing new places.
Clarke Jeffreys Insurance has been trusted to provide insurance solutions for businesses large and small for over 20 years in Herefordshire and beyond. CJ Insurance has never rested on its laurels; the business was founded by Jeff and Denise Clarke in 1993 in the spare bedroom of their home and rapidly grew, leading to Jeff taking their first office space, and quickly taking on 2 members of staff.

Ellie has worked in Insurance for 9 years having progressed from Motor & Home Insurance to complex Commercial and obtaining her Cert CII qualification. Ellie joined Clarke Jeffreys in 2022 after previously running her own Insurance office on a self employed basis.
Ellie works with her clients on more complex commercial policies as well as working with our MD, James Clarke, on the compliance, marketing and operations of the business.
Outside of work Ellie enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Helen came to work for Clarke Jeffreys in 2008 when her two children were small, and those littles ones are now teenagers! Helen's role includes Clarke Jeffreys Accounts, HR and Admin. She really enjoys the variety of work she comes across at Clarke Jeffreys and loves working with a great team of people.
Married to James and with two children and a labrador called Olive, Helen loves reading about anything and everything, and also enjoys photography, long dog walks with Olive and her family, and seeing new places.
James has worked in Insurance for over 20 years, and has owned CJ Insurance with his wife Helen since 2013. He is the Managing Director of Clarke Jeffreys Insurance. He genuinely really does love what he does and unlike many insurance brokers, as he owns and runs the CJ broking business, he has a strong connection and great deal in common with the CJ commercial clients.
He looks after the Insurances for many Businesses in Herefordshire and also much further afield, priding himself in he is available to assist any size business from sole trader contractors to multi million pound businesses to solve the insurance headaches and relishes the challenge to add value at all times, in advising on the specific insurance requirements of those clients.
After receiving a significant amount of enquiries from ex forces moving into the Close Protection Industry, James was able to create and bring to life a specialised insurance scheme, and the CJ Protect team now looks after the insurances of hundreds of clients operating in the security sector. These operatives and business often have different insurance requirement to other commercial clients and CJ Protect can support those working in close protection (hostile and executive), security training, consultancy and guarding.
James particular enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for Insurance with our new recruits. CJ has a long history of supporting the CJ team and developing new talent . At present CJ have 3 full time staff members who started their insurance career with us via the Apprenticeship Route. The longest serving Gavin Smith now takes responsibility for the CJ Protect division and approaching 10 years at CJ. James feels this obvious success can provide no better feedback about what we at CJ and will continue to support and develop the CJ team into the future.
When James isn't on his laptop or talking to his clients about insurance, he can be found talking to them about property or cars. Outside of work, James is married to Helen and a father of two teenagers and enjoys spending time with family and friends. He is a relatively keen walker, enjoys mountain biking and a very poor skier.

- Commercial Account Executive
Jane has been in the Insurance industry for over 30 years and still finds it rewarding when helping existing clients with their needs or picking up new customers. She can help you with all types of policies whether they be commercial or personal.
When not in the office she can be found reading, pottering in the garden and crafting. She loves entertaining, cooking and socialising with friends and family and also loves her holidays and weekends away.
Jay joined the team in August 2020 as an apprentice and after completing his qualification he has transitioned into the Trainee Account Handler role. Jay handles most small business cases for Clarke Jeffreys such as landlords, tradesman and offices as well as assisting the account executives with complex commercial cases. Jay's favourite aspect of working at Clarke Jeffreys is the supportive and friendly team around him.
In his free time Jay is a squad member at a local Karate dojo, competing in competitions around the country and earning medals. He enjoys going on trips and spending time with his friends and family.
Mark relocated to Herefordshire from Oxfordshire several years ago, and is a highly experienced Senior Account Executive looking after the Insurances of Businesses large and small in Herefordshire and further afield. Mark says the things he enjoys the most about his role at Clarke Jeffreys are the variety of the work that he does and also meeting up with new and existing clients.
In his spare time he enjoys walking, travelling and music.
Tom joined us as an apprentice from Sixth Form in Monmouth wanting to join the business world. He is currently in training learning all things insurance. Previous Job: Apprentice from Sixth Form.
