Amy Causley

Amy is an experienced HR professional and Chartered Member of the CIPD. Having come to Liverpool originally to study English Literature, Amy has continued her connection with the city and the University of Liverpool where she previously led on employee engagement, wellbeing, policy and equality. Currently Director of People in the Social Housing sector, Amy brings with her a wealth of experience and a passion for all things people, particularly in the area of equality and diversity.

Andrea Nixon - Chairman

Andrea is a highly experienced executive director and cultural consultant with a significant track record in change management, strategic development, partnership programming, business development and fundraising. Appointed Executive Director of Tate Liverpool in 2006, Andrea led the management and continued development of the gallery from Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture in 2008, up until May 2018. She has national board experience at Arts Council North, the Crafts Council and The Audience Agency, as well as serving on the Visitor Economy Board for the Liverpool City Region LEP from 2011 to 2018. Prior to moving to Liverpool, Andrea was Director of Development for the Tate in London from 1998 to 2006, playing a key role in the creation of both Tate Modern and Tate Britain. As an independent consultant and with Counterculture LLP and People Make it Work she works with a range of clients on strategic cultural planning and placemaking, including Liverpool City Council, the Old Vic Theatre in London, Marketing Cheshire, The Box Plymouth, Tees Valley Combined Authority, English National Ballet, Turner Contemporary and National Museums Liverpool. Andrea is currently Chair of the V&A Dundee Advisory Council and a Trustee of Harewood House Trust. She was awarded the MBE for services to the arts in 2019.

Camilla Mankabady

Camilla Mankabady is the first Director of Communications to be appointed at Liverpool City Council. She joined the council in January 2019 at a time of government austerity, Brexit fears and global downturn. Camilla's team is responsible for producing the city council's communication and marketing strategy. They work closely with local government colleagues and city stakeholders across the private and public sectors. Prior to returning to her home city, Camilla was a senior TV News Editor running flagship network newsrooms across both BBC News and ITV News. Camilla was the programme editor for all of the main BBC news TV bulletins - the News at One, the News at Six and the News at Ten - before moving to ITV News to become the programme editor of ITV's News at Ten. In 2018, Camilla was nominated for a BAFTA for ITV News at Ten's programme coverage of the ‘Grenfell Fire' disaster. Camilla has also worked as a Senior Media Consultant, helping to launch the Daytime and Evening schedules for the Euronews World Channel, in collaboration with the US-network NBC. Camilla prides herself on story-telling, communicating complex thoughts and guiding dynamic teams of creative individuals. Over the years Camilla has spent much time as an industry awards judge - assessing and rewarding journalists - through the Royal Television Society, Amnesty and MHP Communications. Camilla also has experience as a university accreditor - helping to assess journalism degrees - under the auspices of the Broadcast Journalism Training Council. Camilla is a member of the Liverpool City Region Digital and Creative Board and is also a member of the Executive Committee of LGcomms, the membership body for communication professionals in local government.

Caroline Sanger-Davies

Caroline is a marketing & communications consultant specialising in the leisure and tourism sector. Throughout her thirty-year career she has worked in marketing and operational roles for arts organisations and attractions across the UK, including, most recently, Chester Zoo, where she was Director of Marketing for 8 years. Caroline holds an MBA and is a Fellow of the PRCA.

Emily Hughes

Emily Hughes was selected for The Company from the hundreds of people who applied through the open auditions in summer 2016. Emily trained at The Oxford School of Drama. The company season last year marked Emily's professional debut. She is thrilled to be returning for 2018 and to be back in her favourite city in the world.

Helen Blakeman

Helen is a BAFTA and International Emmy Award winning writer (which she won for her TV film Dustbin Baby). Helen writes for TV, film and theatre; currently the creator, lead writer and associate producer of the BAFTA nominated CBBC series Hetty Feather - now in its fifth series. Helen also wrote the controversial film Pleasureland for Kudos/Channel 4 (BAFTA, RTS nomination), has scripted numerous episodes of Hollyoaks (Lime Pictures/C4), as well as the much-loved Call the Midwife. Helen's first play, Caravan, was staged at the Bush Theatre, London, directed by Gemma Bodinetz, with a subsequent production here at the Everyman. Her play, The Morris, was commissioned by the Everyman and staged in 2005. From Liverpool, Helen's first-ever paid employment was as an usher at the Everyman and she credits much of what she learned about theatre from those days. Helen is also Chair of the BAFTA Children's Committee and a member of the BAFTA Council and is a regular volunteer for the Whitechapel Centre.

James Bierman

James Bierman is an independent Film and Theatre Producer and he recently produced his first feature film Genius written by Academy Award Nominee John Logan and starring Colin Firth, Jude Law, Nicole Kidman and Laura Linney which premiered in competition at the Berlin Film Festival in 2016. James is a Tony Award-winning producer of John Logan's stage play ‘Red'. He has worked in professional theatre since 1992 enjoying success in both the commercial and subsidised sectors and is currently on the board of the Society of London Theatres. As Executive Producer of London's Donmar Warehouse (2006 -11) he was involved in over 45 productions which won numerous awards including Tony, Drama Desk, Olivier, Evening Standard, Critics' Circle and South Bank Awards. Alongside Michael Grandage he produced the Donmar West End Season at the Wyndham's Theatre to both critical acclaim, and financial success. He produced a further two West End, and four Broadway, transfers of the company's work. With Grandage he took the Donmar's portfolio to a wider audience, touring nationally and internationally, with BBC radio broadcasts of ‘The Chalk Garden' and ‘Othello', as well as the cast recording of ‘Parade', and the NT Live transmission of ‘King Lear' in 2011 to over 350 cinemas worldwide. The culmination of this work at the Donmar came with the purchase of two properties: the theatre in Earlham Street; and a rehearsal, education and office space in Dryden Street. As a producer at the Michael Grandage Company (MGC), which he founded with Grandage in 2011, he produced five hugely successful productions at the Noel Coward Theatre, in London's West End: ‘Privates on Parade' starring Simon Russell Beale; ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream' starring Sheridan Smith and David Walliams; a new play by Genius writer John Logan entitled ‘Peter and Alice' starring Dame Judi Dench and Ben Wishaw; ‘Henry V' starring Jude Law; and ‘The Cripple of Inishmaan', starring Daniel Radcliffe. The sell-out production of Martin McDonagh's black comedy later transferred to Broadway with critical acclaim and Tony nominations both for the production and for Radcliffe in the lead role. This MGC season also broke new ground by reaching new audiences through competitive ticket pricing and access, with tickets available for as little as ten pounds. Most recently in 2015 the production ‘Photograph 51', starring Nicole Kidman as DNA scientist Rosalind Franklin, opened in London for a limited run. The play, which welcomed Kidman back to the West End after a 17year absence, received rave reviews at the Noel Coward Theatre winning Kidman the Evening Standard and Whatsonstage Best Actress Awards and also Best New Play at the Whatsonstage Awards. Prior to joining the Donmar, Bierman spent 8 years at the Aldwych Theatre working alongside legendary producer Sir Michael Codron

Jill Jones

Jill is an experienced board member, business leader and advisor, acting as a non-executive for a diverse range of organisations. A Chartered Accountant, born and bred in Liverpool, she is well networked, regarded and respected in the North West business community. Until 2020 she was the Regional Managing Partner of RSM, the 7th largest firm of accountants in the UK, and a member of the firm's National Leadership Team, a Main Board Director and Acting COO. Jill has been coming to the theatres since she was at school and is passionate about the contribution that the theatres make to the Liverpool region.

Mike Clarke

Mike was born in Liverpool and over the last 30 years he has worked across both the private, public and charity sectors. Back in 1992 Mike was part of a small team which established Brouhaha International Festival and for five years he worked to establish the EU's Cultural Contact Point UK in an office right next door to the Everyman Theatre. Mike has successfully raised funds from the public and private sector and managed public-sector grant schemes within a regional development agency here in the North West. As Director of the Lake District World Heritage Project, Mike successfully relaunched Cumbria's campaign for UNESCO listing. Mike now leads on Development at the Royal Institute of British Architects, home to the RIBA Stirling Prize, where he builds relationships with private sector/corporate partners to support the work of the Institute and deliver added value to both the partners and a membership of 45,000 architects worldwide. Mike is a trustee of two North West Charities, Cadas which supports people in Cumbria to manage drug and alcohol dependency and Alternative Futures Group, one of the UK's largest health and social care charities, currently supporting around 1,200 people across the UK and employing over 2,500 staff.

Nadia Anim

Nadia is a graduate of the Young Everyman Playhouse (YEP) YEP Actors programme. Her first performance on the new Everyman stage was The Grid. She has been a part of YEP since 2013.

Natasha Bucknor

Natasha grew up on Merseyside, and as a teenager she was an active member of the Everyman's Youth Theatre. Now based in London Natasha has worked with a range of theatre companies, including the Almeida Theatre, National Theatre Studio and Talawa Theatre Company. Natasha is currently the Executive Director at Free Word. Natasha has an interest in arts administration and cultural leadership, and currently mentors a number of emerging and mid-career administrators and general managers in her spare time. Natasha is also a co-opted member of the Board of Governors at Guildhall School of Music & Drama. In 2019 Natasha received an MBE for services to theatre.
