Andy Clarke

Andy started his professional career as a trainee within a Birmingham based manufacturing company, before completing a degree in electrical engineering at Swansea University. Upon completing his degree, Andy joined Halligan Consulting Engineers in 1995 as a junior electrical engineer. Whilst working with Halligan Consulting Engineers, Andy has gained extensive experience on a wide range of projects, in both mechanical and electrical engineering, and is acknowledged as an accomplished all-round engineer . His extensive knowledge means he is now a Director with Halligans Associates and is the front man to many of our clients. Andy is a keen runner and likes to keep active whenever possible. He also enjoys spending family holidays with his wife and two children.

Avril Lamont-Webster

Job Titles:

Avril joined Halligan Consulting Engineers in 1995 as PA to Terry Halligan. During her time at Halligan Consulting Engineers she has become a significant member of our team and is well known within the local Property & Construction Industries.

Dean Bakewell

Following completion of A Levels Dean left school and commenced his Engineering Career with Carter Building Services, a long-established Building Services Contracting Company, as a Trainee Engineer. Whilst at Carter Building Services, Dean attended East Birmingham College, where he achieved his Engineering Qualifications. Dean also gained working experience of Mechanical Services, on a number of projects including Residential, Commercial as well as Hotels.

Geoff Smith

Geoff started his professional career with an M&E Consultancy firm in the Midlands and gained a degree in Building Services Engineering. During his training and completion, Geoff worked on various Local Authority projects and Hotel developments across the country. Geoff joined Halligan Consulting Engineers in 1998 and has worked on many projects consisting of residential, commercial and hotels and has become a well-established engineer. As part of his continued development Geoff also became an accredited SAP assessor to assist with planning future developments for clients within the growing residential sector. Geoff is a keen runner and likes to participate in events particularly the Great North Run and the Birmingham half marathon.

Joshua Parkinson

Job Titles:
  • Trainee Building Services Engineer
Following completion of GCSE's Joshua left school and commenced his Engineering Career with full time College at Matthew Boulton Technical College, Birmingham where he gained BTEC in Electrical Engineering. Joshua then joined Ramboll, as a Trainee Building Services Engineer, Joshua gained valuable Work Experience of Mechanical and Electrical Systems on numerous projects including Residential, Commercial and Hotels. Joshua joined Halligan Associates in August 2021, he has proved to be a significant member of our team, he has shown maturity and experience beyond his years. Whilst with us, Joshua has assisted in the design of numerous projects, including Residential, Commercial and Industrial Buildings.

Martin Green

Martin left secondary education to commence his practical electrical career as a JIB Apprentice before joining WS Atkins to train as an Electrical Design Engineer. As part of his training, Martin successfully completed the HTEC HNC in Electrical Engineering and Power Electronics at Dudley College of Technology. Subsequently, throughout his career, Martin has worked mainly for Birmingham based Consultancy Companies and a major Design and Build Contractor.

Terry Halligan

Job Titles:

Terry founded Halligan Consulting Engineers in October 1987, prior to this Terry had worked within a Consulting Engineers, The Regional Health Authority, and was a Director of a major Building Services Design Build Contractor and was responsible for major projects within London. Based on this knowledge, Terry founded Halligan Consulting Engineers concentrating initially on the major projects within the South East. Halligan Consulting Engineers then developed within the Midlands area, as well as the London market. Consequently, we now have connections nationally and maintain our presence via our clients throughout the country. Terry is active in the business as a consultant where the business can continue to benefit from his considerable knowledge and experience. Terry used to be an avid runner taking part in marathons however, over recent years, he has instead turned to cycling and enjoys cycling through the countryside every weekend.
