Andrew Burt - VP

Vice President Andrew Burt Born in Kirkcaldy, Scotland Andrew now lives in Duxford, Cambridgeshire and Girard, France. Until his retirement, Andrew practiced as a solicitor. Prior to joining the Board he served on the legislation team. He is a member of the Morris Minor Owners Club.

Chris Cartmell Chris

Projects Coordinator Chris Cartmell Chris lives in South Northamptonshire with his wife Jane. Originally trained as an Agricultural Engineer and then going on to work for the agricultural division of Calor Gas. He then joined Mercedes-Benz UK in the early 70's and worked in various After Sales rolls in his 38 years with them, finally as Warranty Technical Manager. After taking early retirement in 2011, Chris was able to devote more time to his passion for his three Rover cars and became a Director of the Rover Sports Register Club, with responsibility for DVLA Liaison and generally helping owners getting their vehicles back on the road. He is also the Organiser of a popular local Classic Car Show, in the Town where he has been a Councillor for the past 25+ years and is currently enjoying his newly appointed role as Mayor or Brackley.

David Davies David - VP

Vice President David Davies David lives in Brigg, Lincolnshire with wife, Carolien. He trained as a metallurgist and prior to his retirement was a photographer with steel group, Corus. He is a director and journal editor of the Vintage Motorcycle Club and a member of LE Owner's Club, Rudge Enthusiasts Club, Moto Guzzi Owners Club, The British Two Stroke Club, The Mercedes Benz Owners Club and the 680/MO Club.

David Hurley David - VP

Vice President David Hurley David lives in Worthing, Sussex with wife, Jenny. Prior to retirement he worked in the insurance industry and he joined FHBVC in 1991 as the commercial vehicle representative. On the Federation's incorporation he joined the board as legislation director. He is chairman of the Working Omnibus Museum Project and a life member of the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society. He is also a member of the Albion Club.

David Whale David - Chairman

Chairman David Whale David lives in Hamstall Ridware, Staffordshire with wife, Barbara. Following a long and successful career in the lubricants industry he established a global consultancy specialising in leadership development programmes working with multi-cultural teams. He joined the Federation board in 2010, becoming Chairman in 2012. He served the Fédération International des Véhicules Anciens as Senior Vice President and the International Historic Commission of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile. His historic vehicle interests include a pre-production Morris Mini Moke, a 1938 Rosengart coupe with full history and having covered less than 9,000km from new and various other unique vehicles ranging from a 1904 Curved Dash Oldsmobile to a 1973 Range Rover.

Ian Edmunds Ian

DVLA Manager Ian Edmunds Ian lives in South Bucks and has been involved with the Federation on and off since shortly after its foundation in 1988. He was the original Chairman of the Legislation and Fuel Sub-Committee as it then was. An engineer by training, his career was in the motor industry involved in vehicle legislation and certification matters. He owns a number of historic motorcycles and cars ranging in age from 1927 to 1981, and is a member of five Federation member clubs.

Lindsay Irvine Lindsay

Legislation Director Lindsay Irvine Lindsay lives in Oxfordshire with his wife Claire. A qualified barrister, he spent over 30 years as a commissioned Legal Officer in the Royal Air Force, retiring from the Service as Director of RAF Legal Services. He continues to practise as a Legal Chair for a leading professional Regulator. A car and aviation enthusiast from boyhood, he has owned a Riley RME for over 25 years. Having qualified as a General Aviation pilot on joining the RAF, he has flown vintage aircraft for the past 20 years even venturing into ownership. Counting coach driving amongst his qualifications, he is a member of several car and aircraft clubs and a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.

He is a member of the House of Lords and of the All Party Parliamentary Historic Vehicles Group. He is also a member of the Jaguar Drivers Club

Nigel Elliott Nigel

Automotive Fuels Specialist Nigel Elliott Nigel lives with his wife Rachel in West Oxfordshire. He is a keen hillclimber and supporter of Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb and a member of the MAC, HDLCC, Bugatti Owners Club, HSA and BARC. He competes in a 1979 Triumph TR7-V8 4.6 litre twin Turbo modified production car. Nigel has owned a number of classic Range Rover's over the years and currently runs a future classic 2004 XKR Jaguar convertible. Following a long and successful career working in engine and vehicle testing, fuels product development and quality for a multi-national oil company he retired in 2012 and set up a fuels quality consultancy. He is an active member of the British Standards Institute PTI/2 Liquid Fuels Committee as a co-opted expert, responsible for petrol, diesel and non-road fuel standards. Nigel was the Convenor of the European Fuel Standards (CEN) Diesel committee and a long term UK expert member of the Petrol Committee and has been heavily involved in the development of the Biodiesel and Ethanol standards and their implementation in road fuels.

Roger King Roger

Heritage Manager Roger King Roger lives in St Ives, Cambridgeshire with his wife Morag. A retired NHS dentist and dental adviser to NHS England, Roger restored his first car (a Frogeye Sprite) whilst a student in London, and has never been without a car project since. He has a Cambridge doctorate in history and is a qualified car bodywork restorer, and is a member of the Mini Cooper Register, The Series 2 Land Rover Club, the Mustang Owners' Club of GB, the AC Owners Club, the XK Club, the Abarth OC, 2CVGB and the HSCC. Roger is also a member of the Society of Automotive Historians of Britain.

Tim Jarrett Tim - CIO

Director of IT Tim Jarrett Tim lives in Surrey and runs an IT and Web company, with over 20 years' experience providing IT and internet solutions to a wide range of industries. Tim grew up with Austin 7s and now maintains a Frazer Nash TT Replica, a Frazer Nash Targa Florio, drives a Triumph Stag and is currently restoring his Bristol 401. He is a member of the Frazer Nash Car Club.

Wayne Scott Coming - CCO

Communications Director Wayne Scott Coming from a family of petrolheads, Wayne has enjoyed a lifetime around classic cars. He learned to drive in a Triumph GTR4 Dove and has owned a Grinnall bodied Triumph TR7V8 for 12 years, which can be seen at many shows, as well as competing in regularities, hill climbs and endurance rallies. He competes in MCC Trials events including the Lands' End and Exeter Trials and has a soft spot for old Jaguar saloons, having owned a number of XJ6 and XJ40 models. Wayne is also the founder of PR consultancy Classic Heritage PR, and has a wealth of experience specialising in PR for the historic vehicle and motorsport industry, working for both car clubs and industry brands alike.
