She has extensive experience in multi-media communications in the arts, cultural and healthcare sectors - and is passionate about the therapeutic benefits of creativity and wellbeing. An avid writer, listener, and story teller, Daphne has several years experience in major giving fundraising across the third sector.

Dominic Harbour

Dominic is one of our Relationship & Development Manager s. He helps to develop our strategic partnerships at a national level and to deliver funded projects at ground level. His career as a Curator and Arts Administrator includes partnerships with Heritage Lottery Fund, English Heritage and The Foreign Office, plus many museums, galleries and health organisations.

Dr Mary Black

Mary is a public health doctor. "Tell the truth, and use numbers to help you," is her philosophy. Raised in Northern Ireland and a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, she is Board Clinical Director and Head of Health Protection at Public Health Scotland. Her very unusual CV includes establishing a medical school in North Queensland, working with the World Health Organization and UNICEF in the Balkans, being a salmon judge in Alaska, and starting two successful tech companies. She has also worked for the 2012 London Olympics, and as a Director of Public Health in London.

Farha Quadri

Farha chairs our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee. She is Programme Lead for a major transformation programme at King's College Hospital, designed to improve urgent and emergency care. Prior to working for the NHS, Farha was a strategy consultant at KPMG where she specialised in the healthcare and life sciences industries and advised C-suite leaders on growth strategy, organisational change and global health systems. She has an undergraduate degree from Oxford University in French and Spanish and a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University. During her time at Columbia, Farha worked as a policy advisor to former US president Bill Clinton at The Clinton Foundation.

Jane Laborie

Jane is our Administration Assistant, a practising artist and part of a printmaking collective. She supports the team in the day-to-day running of the charity. Having worked in mental health, she has seen how beneficial art can be to an individual's wellbeing.

Janet Bates

Janet is one of our Relationship & Development Manager s. She helps to develop our strategic partnerships at a national level and to deliver funded projects at ground level. Janet is a practising artist and graduated in 2010 with a BA in Fine Art after working in publishing for over 20 years.

Jeanette Grose

Jeanette has over 20 years' experience of marketing and fundraising in both the not-for-profit and business sectors. As Head of Philanthropy at top 25 national charity Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), she leads a team of seven to raise an annual target of £2 million from trusts and major donors. Jeanette is also a trustee of the Young Ealing Foundation, which provides support to the Children and Young People sector in the London Borough of Ealing. Having attended various art therapy courses, Jeanette is passionate about the role that art can play in long-term health and wellbeing.

Krishna Omkar

Krishna is a Senior Associate at international law firm King & Spalding. His legal practice includes cross-border mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and corporate advisory matters. Krishna was named a Future Leader by the Financial Times in 2015 and 2016, and listed by the Telegraph as one of the Top 50 LGBT people in business. His pro-bono work includes aiding LGBT rights activists across the globe and establishing a foundation that helps underprivileged students from India access international education opportunities.

Lucy Smith

Lucy is our Philanthropy Manager. Lucy helps to develop fundraising strategies to support the vital work of our charity. To ensure people in care and community environments across the UK can access art and benefit from wellbeing activities, Lucy raises voluntary income by building partnerships with funders, companies and individuals who share our passion. Before 2015, Lucy was a film and TV industry professional, working in both development and post-production. She has a BA (Hons) in Drama and English and is a Script Development graduate of the National Film and Television School. Daughter of professional artists, Lucy is a lifelong art and culture lover, who enjoys working with others to make art accessible to all.

Margaret Proudfoot

Margaret is our Collection Technician and a practising artist. She helps to monitor and maintain the artworks in our collection, preparing them for loan and display. She supports our teams around the UK sharing her extensive knowledge and oversees the technical aspects of our exhibition programme.

Prof Jane Anderson - Chairman

Professor Jane Anderson is our Chair. She is an internationally recognised figure, academic and clinical leader with extensive experience in fast-moving and politically sensitive areas of medicine, health, and public policy. As an experienced board and committee chair and charity trustee, Professor Anderson has the leadership expertise, communication, advocacy, and influencing skills, to support Paintings in Hospitals further towards our ambitious vision to revolutionise art and creativity in healthcare environments, for the wellbeing of all.

Rebecca Hamlin

Rebecca is our Collection Coordinator. She manages our art loan process, ensuring our artworks are kept safe whether they are being stored, transported, or are on display. Rebecca has worked in art sales and gallery management all over the world. She has an MA in Aesthetics (Philosophy of Art) as well as a BA (Hons) in History of Art, Architecture and Design.

Robert Milburn

Robert is a Chartered Accountant and was an audit partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers for 25 years until his retirement in 2014. Since then, he has been a trustee of Parks for London (2014 to 2018) and is currently a trustee and governor at The Lady Eleanor Holles School in South West London and chairs a small charity raising funds to help vulnerable young people in Lebanon. Robert also sits on the audit and risk committees of the care sector charity Marie Curie, the Valuation Office Agency, The National Archives, and Canal and River Trust.

Sandra Bruce-Gordon - CEO

Sandra is our Director & Chief Executive. She graduated from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, with a diploma in drama. Following university, she was appointed Director of the National Youth Theatre of Bermuda. In 1990 Sandra was part of the successful management team during Glasgow's reign as European Capital of Culture. As Head of Service for local authorities, she was responsible for a variety of cultural services including theatres and galleries. As a CEO she was the first person to manage public libraries within the private sector. She was successful in winning bids for charities to run local authority services including libraries, theatres, and museums where those were threatened with closure. Prior to joining Paintings in Hospitals, she ran her own consulting company working on the development of culture and creative industries. Sandra was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts for her work preserving cultural venues.

Stephen Crampton-Hayward

Stephen is our Treasurer and Vice-Chair. He also chairs our Finance & General Purposes Committee. With a degree in Finance & Economics, Stephen's career has focused on charity administration and governance. He is Director of Finance & Corporate Services for WorldSkills UK. Prior to this, he was Managing Director of Whitechapel Gallery, having worked primarily in arts charities throughout his 20-year career, including the Serpentine Gallery, the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith and the Central School of Ballet. Stephen is Acting Chair of Discover Story Centre and a trustee of the National AIDS Trust.
