BDS SOLUTIONS - Key Persons
Derrick's early career in software engineering at Plessey, progressed through banking, retail and local government, before moving in to the health sector and leading a series of flagship NHS networking and communications projects through the 1980s and early 1990s. In May 1994, he set up Bowley Data Systems Ltd and working as an independent consultant, led the investigation, specification and implementation of a groundbreaking electronic messaging environment across a local NHS ‘Natural Community'. The success of this pilot created the opportunity for further expansion and trading as BDS Solutions, the company developed a portfolio of technical services in the field of systems integration and networking, working as a trusted technology partner for NHS organisations nationally.
Lee's knowledge of healthcare Information Technology is widely recognised by customers and partner suppliers alike. Joining BDS Solutions originally as Technical Consultant over 15 years ago he has been responsible for the design, build and ongoing development of some of the largest on-premise Microsoft infrastructures within the NHS. His current role as BDS Solutions Technical Director sees him blend practical experiences gained during numerous and varied implementation projects with business insight developed whilst advising on strategies for IT-enabled collaboration within and between health and care organisations nationwide.
Mark has recently re-joined BDS Solutions after 10 years at Microsoft UK Health and 4 years at Hearst Health where he was responsible for their UK and International Health care Portfolio and Marketing. Mark brings over 30 years Healthcare IT experience to BDS Solutions, including 15 years within the NHS where he was responsible for the development of a number of national solutions during the 1980 and 1990's. Mark's firm belief is that better health and care outcomes for individuals can be achieved through investing in better technology infrastructure for health and care professionals and the wider UK population.

Nick has spent 30 years designing, developing and implementing public sector IT solutions. After joining BDS Solutions in 2000, he spent 10 years evolving the product portfolio, helping establish BDS Solutions as the leading provider of NHS directory, messaging and desktop solutions. This included producing Directory Manager™, the most widely-used identity management solution in healthcare; seamlessly integrating ESR, Active Directory, Exchange and NHSmail. In recent years Nick has led the expansion of the BDS Solutions portfolio and the advancement of our business and technical partnerships; always with the aim of helping our customers obtain the right solutions as economically as possible.
