Beginning in 1993, the Medieval Siege Society (MSS) is now one of the largest late medieval re-enactment groups in the UK. Indeed, we believe that many of our old members have gone on to form groups of their own. Our Society aims to promote interest in this oft-forgotten period of history through entertainment and education... The Medieval Siege Society was formed to promote knowledge of the periods of history now known as the Hundred Years War (circa 1337 - 1453) and the Wars of the Roses (circa 1455 - 1487). It is our aim, through first class entertainment & education, to encourage the interest of the public in the Medieval heritage of Britain... The Medieval Siege Society has worked with The National Trust, English Heritage, The Royal Armouries, Hedingham Castle, The Museum of London, The Royal Gunpowder Mills, Essex Country Parks and England's Medieval Festival amongst many others.
