Charlotte Carroll

Charlotte joined us in September 2015 straight out of Plymouth High School for Girls and has now gained her AAT qualification and is a Xero Advisor. She undertakes a selection of work including accounts preparation, VAT returns as well as trains clients in the use of Xero and bookkeeping. Charlotte has recently purchased her first house which is taking a lot of her time when she is not walking her two dogs, Charlie and Betty on the moors.

Dan Hosgood

Dan joined us in August 2018, prior to that he spent two years at the University of Bristol and joined us after spending 3 months with an insolvency practice. Dan is working towards his Association of Accounting Technician qualification. He undertakes a range of work including vat returns, accounts and has received advisor certification in Xero and QuickBooks. When not working, Dan enjoys mountaineering and rock climbing - he clearly enjoys the view from the top!

Gemma Logan

Gemma has been with us since September 2016 and in that time has qualified as an Accounting Technician. She undertakes a variety of accounts, VAT and tax preparation work and is a certified advisor in both QuickBooks and Xero. When she is not in the office, Gemma enjoys a variety of activities such as camping, paddle boarding and skiing. She also loves walking her dog Bella, who comes along on all her adventures.

Kacey Chapman

Kacey recently joined us in October 2020 after being an office manager for 6 months. This is her second job after Kacey started an apprenticeship when she joined us and is working towards her AAT qualifications. She undertakes a variety of work such as preparing accounts and VAT returns. When she's not working, Kacey enjoys going for walks and being cosy watching a film.

Laura Jones

Laura joined us in November 2012 having previously worked for other local accountancy practices. She has a degree in Mathematics from the Open University and is currently studying for the Association of Taxation Technicians qualification. Laura undertakes a variety of tax return preparation work and accounts and is a QB ProAdvisor and Xero Advisor. Outside of the office she enjoys spending time with her young sons. Laura is an enthusiastic competitor in the world pasty championships; she has yet to win the trophy but experimentation and tasting sessions are ongoing.

Leigh Rowsell

Leigh is a Director of Wills Accountants with responsibility for a growing portfolio of clients. He manages our tax department and oversees our payroll bureau service. He joined us in December 2002, qualifying as a Tax Technician in September 2003, having previously worked for a specialist medical accountancy practice in Plymouth and before that HM Revenue & Customs. He deals with a lot of our non-resident clients as well as most of our Seafarers. Outside of the office his time is spent with his wife Ally, and his children Millie, Isaac, Neve and Ella. He used to be a keen sportsman but now that he is too old, he is involved with local football coaching and is the manager of a junior football team with AFC Plympton.

Phil Soutter

Phil is a true "Janner", born and bred in Plymouth. He spent 15 years in a variety of local companies, including the manufacturing and wholesaling business sectors and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1987. He joined Ernst & Young in the same year, returning back into industry in 1990 when appointed as a Financial Director in a local IT company. Phil left industry in 1994 starting his own management consultancy practice, before starting Wills Accountants Limited with Sue in January 1998.

Sally Marris

Sally joined us in November 2014 after spending 13 years with another local company in various administration roles. She has extensive experience in administration and keeps the office running smoothly. Sally is glad to get back to work on a Monday morning after spending most of her weekends running around after her grandchildren! She will be your first point of contact on the telephone or welcoming you into our office.

Sean Donovan

  • Chartered Accountant
Sean is an experienced chartered accountant having worked in practice for many years. After training with Bishop Fleming, he spent time working for KPMG in their owner-managed business department before moving to a local firm of chartered accountants, eventually becoming a partner. Sean also works outside of the firm as the finance manager of a local charity that offers a range of parenting and rehabilitation services to families and women with dependency issues, with children in their care. Sean is married with two sons and likes to keep fit by cycling and kayaking. He and his wife enjoy holidays travelling around Europe in their campervan.

Susan Wills

Sue is a native Plymothian but spent six years in Cardiff where she obtained an accountancy degree from University College Cardiff (now the Cardiff Business School) and qualified as a Chartered Accountant at the tender age of 23. Sue is also a member of the Institute of Taxation and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. When asked about holding three professional qualifications, she generally mutters about not getting out much when she was younger. She met Phil when they were fellow colleagues at Ernst & Young where Sue was a tax manager and Phil worked on the accounts/audit side. Married to William who is a fellow Chartered Accountant. Sue is a Past President of Plymouth Mayflower Rotary Club and is serving as the national treasurer for Rotary from 2021-2024. Sue deals with a wide variety of clients including construction and property companies and high net-worth individuals.
