James James-Crook

With over forty years' experience in the international auction industry, James is currently an Independent Fine Art Consultant and Appraiser offering extensive expert and impartial advice to HNW and Corporate Clients also to the Fiduciary Sector for the purposes of Curating, Insurance, IHT, Family Division and Auction. He provides an Art Asset Management service for clients who have existing collections also for those wishing to establish new collections by acquiring art or selling existing works. His areas of specialisation in Modern British & Irish Art include Paintings, Works of Paper and Sculpture from 1880 to the present day. Educated at Aldenham, then St Martin's School of Art, James completed a post graduate Art History Course on British and European Art 1400-1900; the History of Decorative Arts 1500-1900 and the History of Architecture at the V&A's prestigious Study Centre for The Fine and Decorative Arts. James was then appointed the youngest ever global head of 20thC British & Irish Art with Phillips International Fine Art Auctioneers and has travelled extensively on business to Australia, NZ, South Africa, the USA and Ireland. James is a Governor, The Aldenham Foundation; President of the Old Aldenhamian Alumni; a former Editor OA Review; Past Chair of the Letchmore Trust, currently Trustee and Secretary and, in 2012, James established the Annual Letchmore Trust Art Prize. He is a Freeman of the City of London and Liveryman of the Fletchers' Company. James joined the board in 2023.

Jonathan Clark

Jonathan is a Former President of both Chartered Insurance Institute and Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters, with extensive board level experience of compliance and risk management, managing business change, project management, marketing and technology implementation, and a track record for successfully mitigating, resolving and negotiating complex financial losses across an International environment. Regular mentor and active in technical and business skills training. Jonathan joined the board in 2021.

Louise Myles

Louise started her career with leading advertising agencies before moving into management consultancy. She founded a boutique management consultancy specialising in strategic marketing and customer facing operations for a wide range of private and public sector clients. She sold her consultancy after the birth of her daughter and has since worked with a number of small brands and start ups on their marketing strategy. She is a Trustee for a small education charity in Africa and previously, a Carers charity in Sussex. She has a lifelong interest in Art having completed an Art Foundation course at Worthing College of Art prior to University, and is now a keen collector. Louise joined the board in 2021

Martyn Bell

Martyn was previously Chairman of the Oxmarket Management Board from 2015 to early 2019. Born in Brighton, he was educated at a State Grammar School and then Manchester University , where he graduated in Economics. He pursued a career in International Marketing & Retailing, retiring in 2000. Since retirement he has lived in the City of Chichester and has served as a local Councillor since 2007. For 2014/15 he was appointed Chairman of Chichester District Council and for 2018/19 he was appointed Mayor of Chichester. Martyn is Chairman of Chichester District Scouts, a Trustee of Chichester Marks Holocaust Memorial Day and a Vice- President of The Arts Society Chichester. Martyn is the Chair of the Oxmarket Association Trustees .

Sophie Hull - Chairman

Sophie joined the Board in 2017 as a Director and became Chair in 2019. She spearheaded the fundraising and transformational refurbishment project. Under her leadership she has strengthened both the Executive and Trustee boards and re-focussed the direction of Oxmarket Contemporary. On moving to Chichester she renovated a Grade II listed house receiving an Heritage Award. A passionate amateur gardener and supporter of the arts she hopes to make the Oxmarket Gallery central to Chichester's cultural and recreational experience. Sophie had over two decades of experience in London, developing corporate communications and Investor Relations strategies before moving to Chichester five years ago. She founded and manged her own specialist communications consultancy.
