Tivoli Theatre is a Registered Charity. Having survived the threat of demolition in 1979 for a rapidly abandoned road scheme and following a lengthy campaign to save the building, restoration began and through 1993 volunteers worked long and hard to get the building into a fit state to open to the public. Today the Tivoli has a small permanent team of staff as well as our amazing army of volunteers, who give their time to keep this wonderful Theatre alive and well. The Tivoli celebrated thirty successful years in November 2023, and we aim to keep providing first class entertainment for many more years... The Tivoli Theatre was built in 1936 as a cine/theatre. The tradition of showing both films and live stage shows continues to the present day.
