Paul Docherty

Job Titles:
  • Member of the Warwick Boat Club Committee
  • Squash Captain
"I have been a member of Warwick Boat Club and a keen (if fairly average) squash player for almost a decade. I took on the role of Squash Captain in early 2023 and my hope is that I can help grow the number of people who actively play (and enjoy!) the amazing game of squash at Warwick Boat Club (in all forms including Squash 57 or Racketball as it is more colloquially known). I've spent most of my career (over the last 3 decades) launching and scaling multiple technology and consulting businesses (most of which have been quite successful) and I hope that I can leverage this experience for the benefit of the club in terms of running a tight ship and keeping us focused on delivering what our members want - ever better squash, ever better facilities and a friendly, welcoming and social/fun club that people want to use.

Paul Isaccs

I have been a member of Warwick Boat Club tennis section for almost 20 years. Throughout this time I have had regular, weekly coaching sessions with Gavin butregrettably without making much progress! That's more a reflection on me than him - as he says "he can only work with what's on the other side of the court" I originally hail from Sussex, (and for the moment I am proud to say I am a Brighton & Hove Albion fan) but have lived mostly in the Midlands after graduating from the University of Birmingham back in the early 80s. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC after leaving University but have spent most of my professional career working in private equity, investing in businesses in and around the Midlands. I have sat on numerous company boards helping companies, both large and small, to develop and execute their strategies and to grow both organically and through acquisition. My wife, Kate Parr, is also a tennis member and served for 8 years as a Governor on the Warwick Schools Foundation where she was Chair of Governors of Warwick Prep School. She has also been a trustee of the King Henry VIII Charitable Foundation for the last 12 years. I was asked by Gavin Henderson to consider serving on the committee and whilst I haven't sat on the committee of any sports clubs in the past, having spoken with both Jon Browning and Mike Parton, I believe that their vision for the club is something that I can support, and believe that my experience of helping small and medium sized businesses to develop and grow is something that I can bring to the club and support the committee in achieving their objectives of being a financially stable and family orientated sports club
