Alice Linnane

Alice works as Producer at the Gate across our in-house, co-produced and international programme. Born and raised in South East London, Alice is passionate about platforming theatre that speaks to different communities in London. She strives to produce work that is inclusive, accessible and that examines the cross sections between the personal, political, global and local. Before starting at the Gate in March 2022 she was Producer at Cardboard Citizens. She has previously worked with organisations like the National Theatre, Graeae Theatre Company, The Coronet Theatre, Barrowland Ballet and more. Alongside this role, she is the Producer of a small theatre company that works with learning disabled and neurodiverse adults called Square Pegs Arts. (she/her)

Atri Banerjee

Job Titles:

Atri's directing credits include Julius Caesar (RSC), The Glass Menagerie, Utopia and Hobson's Choice (all Royal Exchange), Britannicus (Lyric Hammersmith), Kes (Bolton Octagon/Theatre by the Lake), Harm (Bush Theatre) and ERROR ERROR ERROR (Marlowe Theatre/RSC). He also directed Harm as a film for the BBC Lights Up season on BBC Four. Atri is a recipient of the 2022-24 Peter Hall Bursary from the National Theatre. In 2022, he was named in The Stage as one of "25 theatre-makers to watch out for over the next quarter-century and beyond". In 2019, for Hobson's Choice, he won The Stage Debut Award for Best Director. His translation of Pier Lorenzo Pisano's Carbon was selected for a 2023 honour by Eurodram, the European network for drama in translation. He is a trustee for the Regional Theatre Young Directors' Scheme (RTYDS) and was previously Trainee Director at the Royal Exchange and a Resident Director at the Almeida.

David Lakhdhir

David, an international lawyer, has been a partner in the firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison since 1992. He was based initially in New York City, then in Tokyo, and since 2002 has been resident in London. He is also a director of Human Rights Watch, Inc. and Chair of its Asia Advisory Committee, and the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the American University of Central Asia in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. A graduate of Harvard College and the Harvard Law School, he has served as a pro bono advisor to theatre, dance and other arts organizations, in both New York and London, for over 25 years.

Fisola Kelly-Akinnuoye

Fisola Kelly-Akinnuoye (she/her) is a freelance writer- producer and literary magazine editor. She graduated with a degree in English from the University of Birmingham. She has a background in theatre, working with The Old Vic, The Almeida, and China Plate Theatre on training courses. She worked as an intern assistant producer on China Plate Theatre's production of Wuthering Heights and event coordinator for creative careers event - RISE 2023. She has produced the musical ‘The White Rose' at Applecart Arts' Springboard festival. Her practice takes a care-centred approach to create space for emerging creatives to explore storytelling and creative possibilities in a safe, respectful working environment. She has written a one act play, ‘Conversations with Myself,' for the Almeida's Anthem writers' programme. Her writing explores existence in a Black, female body and celebrates personal and collective identities. She is driven to contribute to the dialogue on Black experiences. Currently, she is writing her second play. She is passionate about creative education and platforming Black writers through her literary magazine, Wordstew. Hosanna Johnson

Hosanna is part of Gate Generations Hosanna joined the Gate Young Associates in 2019. She is a theatre creative with an interest in acting and writing who is currently studying on the Foundation Acting course at ALRA. As a writer, Hosanna has written monologues and short plays both independently and through various writers' workshops and short courses and has performed stand-up comedy. Hosanna also has experience working backstage and enjoys working with props. Previously, Hosanna was Technical Theatre Apprentice at the Royal Opera House (2018-2020) and became a member of Arts Emergency's first Youth Collective in 2020 (having been a young member of Arts Emergency since 2017).

Jason Fernandez

Jason is the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis at Britvic Soft Drinks. He has 12 years experience as a chartered accountant working mainly in commercially focussed roles for a number of global beverage companies including Heineken. More recently Jason has held a number of senior finance management positions within Britvic. As a freelance consultant he has also helped lead major change projects for clients such as British Airways and it's parent company IAG. (he/him)

Katherine de Halpert

Job Titles:

Katherine has been part of the Gate Theatre team for such a long time, she's part of the furniture. She has worked in the charity sector for over twenty years as a freelance Finance Manager and financial consultant and is particular interested in theatre, music and dance having once been a performer herself. Katherine also works with Cheek By Jowl, Boy Blue, Miracle Theatre, Hackney Showrooms, Sound Connections and Drake Music. (she/her)

Kwame Owusu

Kwame is part of Gate Generations Kwame Owusu is a director, writer and actor. He is currently Resident Assistant Director at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre. He recently graduated with First Class Honours in Drama and English Literature from The University of Manchester, and is now studying on an MFA in Theatre Directing at Birkbeck, University of London. His directing credits include Pomona (Edinburgh Festival Fringe), The Wolf From The Door (John Thaw Studio Theatre), and Whiskey Wednesdays (Kickitdown Productions). He was a Trainee Assistant Director on the world premiere of Rimini Protokoll's Utopolis at Manchester International Festival 2019. His assistant directing credits include Running with Lions (Lyric Hammersmith / Talawa Theatre Company). His acting credits include The Letters Project (Gate Theatre), Dear Elizabeth (Gate Theatre), Lost Boys (Unity Theatre), and Waiting for Godot (Theatre Royal Brighton).

Nicola Clements - CEO

Nicola Clements (she/her) was most recently Interim Executive Director at Camden People's Theatre (CPT) from May 2021 until July 2022. Before her appointment at CPT, she spent over a decade working in fundraising and event management at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). She is also a trustee at WAC Arts.

Paige Evans

Paige is a South West born and London-based General Manager, Producer & Writer with a MA in Creative Producing (Mountview, Distinction). Paige's career has centred around supporting emerging artists and creating accessible artistic hubs, with previous credits as Theatre Programming, Marketing & Production Manager at OSO Arts Centre, and as Venue Manager at NDT Broadgate - coordinating the delivery of allocating 110,000+ hours of free rehearsal space to emerging artists post pandemic. When not running theatres, Paige is a writer & producer making her own food-focused performance work, believing in the use of food to connect people across socio-economic backgrounds and other ideologies. She hopes to do a PhD in it one day! Paige has showcased her work at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, Drayton Arms Theatre, Exeter Phoenix & intoBodmin, and has also worked with Park Theatre, PW Productions, Baby Wants Candy! & Rosemary Branch Theatre.

Rahul Sinha

Rahul Sinha is an economist as well as a monitoring and evaluation expert, working in the international development and education sectors. He serves on the boards of the Gate Theatre, the Gerald Coke Handel Foundation, and London Plus, and previously was an Ambassador for the Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington DC. He also serves on the Policy Council for Liberty. Before moving to London, he has worked for a prominent think tank in Washington DC, as well as several boutique consultancies that support NGOs including the World Bank, and the UK and US governments. Since arriving in London, he has supported the Overseas Development Institute in its research into the causes and levels of land tenure insecurity around the world. (he/him)

Rebecca Prentice

Rebecca Prentice is an independent producer, facilitator and communications specialist with experience running charities at managerial level, facilitating workshops with community groups and producing theatre and film. She is passionate about supporting writers and artists through development and into production. She has worked with organizations such as Paines Plough, Bristol Old Vic, Roundhouse, Phosphoros Theatre, Pleasance Theatre and many more. She is supported by the Stage One Bursary Scheme for New Producers.

Shami Chakrabarti - Chairman

Shami Chakrabarti (Baroness Chakrabarti CBE PC) is a human rights lawyer and campaigner, Labour Peer and was Shadow Attorney General for England and Wales from September 2016 to April 2020. She was the Director of Liberty (the National Council for Civil Liberties), from 2003 to 2016 and its In House Counsel from 2001 to 2003. Prior to that she was at the bar and then a Home Office lawyer (1996-2001). She was a panellist on the Leveson Inquiry into media culture, ethics and practice after the phone-hacking scandal in 2011/12 and one of an international group who carried the Olympic flag at the opening of the London games in 2012. She was the Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University and the University of Essex and has been an Honorary Professor at the Universities of Bristol and Manchester and the London School of Economics. She served on the Board of the British Film Institute (BFI) for many years and on the Members Council of the Tate. She is a Master of the Bench of Middle Temple.
