Kim Conchie - CEO

Kim has been CEO of Cornwall Chamber of Commerce since April 2012. His visionary yet highly pragmatic approach has seen him develop the Chamber into an organisation that is firmly at the forefront of Cornwall's business community. Cornwall Chamber of Commerce has grown to encompass a specialist team that offers an extensive range of services, from export market expertise to a vibrant mix of networking events, as well as being very much the voice of business in Cornwall on a regional, national and international scale. Kim is also a member of and chairs, several business and education boards. He is chair of trustees at Cornwall Community Foundation, a trustee of Truro School Foundation, a member of Truro & Penwith College Employment & Business Board, a Member of WAVE MAT, an advisory board member of Golden Tree Productions and of Smartline (an Exeter University programming looking at improving health in the home), sits on the Cornwall Place Board and the Falmouth Place-shaping Board. In business, Kim jointly founded Brass Tacks Publishing in 1986. Brass Tacks became one of the top customer publishing and website agencies in UK before Kim led a successful trade sale to Chime Communications plc in 2000. Major clients were RAC, first direct, Somerfield, Royal Mail, UKTI, British Gas, Scottish Power, Bank of Scotland, Rugby Football Union, Lawn Tennis Association. He was md of the Bristol office of PSPRare (as Brass Tacks was rebranded after the sale) from 2006 to 2009. Kim co-founded Navas Drinks Ltd in 2018 which produces top quality Cornish mixers using Cornish spring water and hand-selected botanicals. The company has supported the work of The Eden Trust from its formation. His BA Hons in English and Economics from Cardiff University has provided useful background throughout his business career. In November 2019, Kim was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Cornwall. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. In addition to his working life, he loves his wife Sarah, three grown up children, Cornwall, and his garden. He is a life member of Cornwall Heritage Trust, Falmouth Rugby Club, South West Coast Path Association and The Royal Academy of Arts.

Rob Holmes

Bio Rob was appointed as the Executive Director of Finance, Audit & Risk at Falmouth University in 2022 having been in the post of Director of Finance since 2014 and joining the University in 1992. During that time he has been involved with finances across the institution from the early days of European funding and the acquisition of the Penryn Campus, the establishment of the joint venture, Falmouth Exeter Plus, the merger with Dartington College of Arts and in achieving University title. He is responsible for all aspects of finance across the University, including procurement, and is responsible for financial planning. The importance of working with staff across the institution to de-mystify finances is at the forefront of Rob's approach to finance, supported by tight controls and rigorous financial management and analysis. Before working at the University, Rob ran the small business unit for a regional accountancy practice having trained both in practice and commerce; his first finance job being with the regional bus company. Rob is a Chartered Certified Accountant, a member of the Chartered Management Institute and successfully completed the General Management Programme with Cranfield University in 2013.

Bio Sarah is a partner and head of the specialist Family Finance team at Stephens Scown LLP. She qualified in March 2006 and has over 15 years of experience advising clients on: Divorce & complex financial settlements involving business interests, inherited wealth, trusts and pension assets Pre/post-nuptial agreements to preserve wealth and protect family businesses in a succession planning context Child maintenance and financial provision for children of unmarried parents. She specialises in advising business/farm owners and those with significant inherited wealth on the protection of assets from the impact of relationship breakdown; and their spouses who seek their share of resources. She also acts for professionals and has an in-depth understanding of the nuances of public sector pension schemes. Sarah is a member of Resolution and promotes a constructive approach to resolving family issues.
