Carol Olivier

Carol is a teacher with experience in the full curriculum in all the primary years and with drama and dance in the Foundation stage. She has also been a deputy and acting head, was on the board of the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith and has trained primary teachers in Drama and Storytelling.

Chris Lawrence is the Coordinator of London Drama. He has worked as a class teacher in both Primary and Secondary Schools, as Head of Drama, Advisory Drama Teacher and as Leader of a TiE Team. He is also a Trustee of Southwark Arts Forum, Southwark Theatres Education Partnership, Blue Elephant Theatre and a member of the National Drama editorial Team.

David Farmer

In this practical session David Farmer will use a range of drama games and strategies (including role play and non-verbal communication) to explore the subject of migration and refugees. We will look at how source material (such as images and poetry) can be used to explore students' knowledge, understanding and attitudes towards refugees and the experience of travelling to a strange country, as well as the similarities and differences between us. David Farmer is a freelance director and writer. He founded Tiebreak Theatre Company, touring plays to young people across the UK and abroad. He is the author of several books including 101 Drama Games and Activities and Learning Through Drama in the Primary Years. He runs the website www.dramaresource.com. In 2019 he is directing a UK tour of Kure Kure featuring Zimbabwean musician Anna Mudeka. His work has been commissioned by theatres, museums and festivals including the Natural History Museum and Lyric Hammersmith. He works internationally with teachers and students in schools, universities and conferences.

Louise Pendry

Louise is Artistic Director of Bounce Theatre. Over the past few years she has co-created drama in alternative education settings. Working alongside young people with social and emotional issues they have made three professionally performed productions. Fried Chicken tackled male identity and gang crime. Emoji touch upon mental health. Their current production SCAR looks at young peoples relationship with health. Alongside this she has facilitated young people to create installations and drama around health, loneliness, fashion and urban art exhibited at the Rose Theatre, National Archives and Saatchi Gallery.
