Barry Martin

Barry has been in Practice in South-East London since the 1970's, initially as The Martin & Warnock Partnership, which arose from the acquisition of the professional practice of Robert J Lang Limited founded in 1908, and then from 1992 as BC Martin & Company, a boutique practice offering surveying and property management services to a growing clientele, based in Blackheath, South London, the firm managed a varied commercial and residential estate throughout Southern England, as well as undertaking sales, lettings, acquisitions, rent reviews and lease renewal work. BC Martin and Co was merged with Baxter Philips in September 2021 and Barry joined the firm as a Consultant.

Helen Gardner - CFO, Secretary

Helen is a qualified accountant and joined Baxter Philips in 2018. Helen started her career in central London and held accountancy positions in publishing and retail, before spending ten years in the racing industry as Financial Controller of a Plc. Helen is responsible for the day to day running of our finance function, and all company secretarial duties.

Jonathan Webber

Jonathan is a Chartered Surveyor and one of the founding Directors of Baxter Philips with over 35 years' experience in commercial property, having started his career in Baxter Payne & Lepper's commercial division in Bromley in 1981. Jonathan specialises in: Lease Advice Rent Review Lease expiry/renewal Landlord and Tenant Act advice Dispute Resolution Valuation Investment Sales and Acquisitions

Kath Nutland

Kath comes to us after 14 years in the residential market. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge to enchance our administrator in our accounting and property management department.

Lucy Davies

Job Titles:
  • Property Administrator and Secretary - Professional and Agency Departments
Lucy joined Baxter Philips in June 2011 as Property Administrator in the Agency department. She organises the agents' diaries, assembles marketing reports and property particulars, uploading them to our own and third party websites, arranges the EPC's, coordinates viewings and, with the agents, monitors sales and lettings once in solicitors hands.

Philip Lapper

Philip has a degree in Estate Management from Greenwich University and joined Baxter Philips in 2002, becoming a Director in 2010. Philip started his property career in central London in 1997 working as an asset surveyor at Dorrington Investments. Philip specialises in: Agency sales, lettings and acquisitions Investment sales and acquisitions Property Management Rent Review and Lease Renewal

Robert Cumming

Robert joined Baxter Philips in October 2019 as Property Manager, becoming an Associate in April 2022. Robert has worked in the property management sector for the last 10 years having previously held positions at CBRE in Glasgow before moving to Cushman & Wakefield in central London. Robert also spent 6 years working for a boutique property investment firm in Mayfair where he managed properties in West London. He also has experience of property management accounts and systems as well as service charge accounting. Robert is responsible for the day to day property management at Baxter Philips.
