WESTBOURNE HOUSE SCHOOL - Key Persons
Job Titles:
- Admissions and Marketing Officer
If you are considering Westbourne House for your children, it is my job to send you a prospectus, arrange a tour and answer any questions you may have. Trust me: no question is too small or too silly. Nothing can replace the experience of seeing the school for yourself, witnessing the children in lessons and at play and having the opportunity to chat to them as they go about their days. It is always lovely to see prospective parents' reactions to the school, as they cannot help but be impressed. Should you happen to be considering a move from London, I can only tell you that, from my experience, no family ever goes back! Don't hesitate to get in touch. You have nothing to lose and your children will have everything to gain!

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a reception teacher. I also have a keen interest in science, hence I studied Chemistry at Warwick University before qualifying as a teacher.
I have been teaching for 25 years, I moved to Chichester in 2003, where I live with my husband and our two sons.
I am passionate about the outdoors and I enjoy walking, canoeing and cycling.
I find teaching in Early Years incredibly rewarding and I love the challenge of unlocking the potential that is in every child.
In the last two years I have been working as a county moderator and I'm a firm believer in examining, and improving, my own practice.
I am excited about new challenges at Westbourne House.

I was passionate about drama from a very young age. I had very inspirational teachers and later I chose Newcastle University because it had one of the biggest drama societies in the country. I joined Westbourne House in 2006 to launch the curriculum drama. I left five years later to set up a theatre at a new college in the Middle East before returning to continue developing the Drama Department. One of the most heart-warming elements of the job is seeing a child discover a talent. I love that we create so many opportunities for children to discover their capacity for creativity.

I joined Westbourne in January 2007 as Deputy Head, and was appointed as Head in April 2011. I feel very privileged to be able to lead what is unquestionably a fantastic school in so many respects. I have written more about my philosophy of education and what a school should provide for children in the ‘Headmaster's Welcome'.
I am a graduate of Exeter University, where aside from graduating in Educational Studies, Sport and Science, I spent a great deal of time playing sport. I was captain of the University 1st XI cricket for three years, as well as playing in various representative sides. I also played basketball to British Universities and National League level, along with soccer and both codes of rugby to a decidedly less serious level! Nowadays I keep fit largely by cycling and on the golf course. Slightly more sedentary interests include reading, current affairs and travel.
I started my teaching career at a school in London, followed by twelve years at Papplewick School in Ascot, primarily as a Science teacher and sports coach.
