Owen Taylor is a family owned business which strives to provide our valued customers with the finest quality produce, locally sourced, wherever possible... Owen Taylor, the great grandfather of our current Managing Director, Richard Taylor started the business in 1922 at Chestnut Farm in Somercotes. At this time the family business operated as a farm supplying its own abattoir on site. This abattoir then supplied the local Owen Taylor retail shops in the Leabrooks, Alfreton, Somercotes and Riddings villages. The reputation of the business was built on providing local high quality meats, home produced sausages and pies baked on site... Today we are a business renowned in the industry for providing the retail and catering customers with high quality, locally sourced fresh meat and meat products.
