LOGAN CONSTRUCTION - Key Persons

Bruce Wilton

Job Titles:
  • Finance Manager
After Bruce's educational years, he joined a small firm of Chartered Accountants in London. Five and a half years later, he discovered a niche in the market and set up his own business, where he provided up-to-date management accounting information for SMEs on a regular basis at a fraction of the cost charged by larger firms of accountants. He built this business over the next twenty-eight years, increasing his portfolio of clients and increasing the scope of services provided, such as payroll bureau services and the processing of self-assessment tax returns. Bruce first worked for Logan Construction, after he had been referred to them, in the late 1990s, shortly after they were incorporated. At that time this only involved a few initial visits to help out, but he was reunited with the company about ten years later, providing quarterly management accounts. In 2015 he was offered the role of Finance Manager. For the first couple of years Bruce worked part-time, whilst divesting himself of his portfolio of clients. He has been working full-time for Logan Construction since 2017, enjoying the challenge of working for a fast-growing construction company. Bruce has always been a keen sportsman and has represented Kent at squash in various age group categories; he still plays team squash at club level despite being in his sixties. He recently succeeded in achieving his ambition to get his golf handicap down to single figures and is an accomplished skier. In what is left of his spare time, Bruce also enjoys participating in the local village "Players" pantomime and choral groups.

Jeremy Thorp - Chief Commercial Officer

Job Titles:
  • Commercial Director
Jeremy joined Logan Construction as Commercial Director in 2015, after progressing from a Trainee Surveyor at a small local firm to excelling as a Board-level leader for some of the South-East's most successful Construction firms. Highly experienced in all aspects of commercial, marketing and project management; Jeremy is focused on eradicating wasted costs on building projects. To this end, he takes responsibility for both the Pre-Construction and Surveying team's efforts in producing robust commercial solutions for our clients. Working closely with our project teams, Jeremy has been essential in developing and sustaining positive relations with our clients and suppliers. Underpinning this is his endorsement of a collaborative open book approach, to safeguard clients from being met with hidden, unexpected costs at project completion. Outside of work Jeremy plays golf, although not as good as he would like. Compounding this frustration is his lifelong support of Gillingham F.C, both of which go some way to explaining his disillusioned mood most Monday mornings. Fishing is Jeremy's escape from all other escapisms though, enjoying above all other pursuits the aquatic chess match between a man and a carp on a cold November morning.
