Alex Martin

Alex joined 12KBW in May 2023 as an Assistant Practice Manager after gaining over 3 years' experience as a Junior Clerk at Pump Court Tax Chambers. Alex's main responsibilities include diary management, liaising with clients, negotiating fees, allocating cases, and developing members' practices. Alex has completed the IBC Introduction to Business Management course.

Ashley Hall

Job Titles:

Ashley is one of chambers' fees clerks. He joined 12KBW in 2019, having previously worked in another chambers as a barristers' clerk, before deciding to focus on a career specialising in fee management. Ashley works closely with the clerks and is responsible for fee collection.

Claudia Winters

Job Titles:
  • Member of the Reception Team at Quadrant Chambers
Claudia joined 12KBW in May 2023. For the past year, Claudia has been a member of the reception team at Quadrant Chambers as well as organising mini-pupillage. Claudia's role at 12KBW includes assisting with the running of pupillage alongside the administration of Chambers.

Daniella Evans

Daniella joined 12KBW in January 2020 after gaining 3 years' experience as a criminal clerk. Starting her career at 18 Red Lion Chambers and progressing onto the role of third junior clerk at Charter Chambers. Daniella's primary duties include: diary management, liaising with clients, negotiating fees, allocating cases and developing members' practices. Daniella is a member of the Institute of Barristers' Clerks (IBC) and London Young Lawyers Group (LYLG).

David de Menezes - CMO

Job Titles:

David joined 12KBW in March 2023 with responsibility for the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of marketing, branding and event planning of Chambers. He works in partnership with the Director of Clerking and the Business Operations Manager as part of the Senior Management Team. David has over 15 years' experience working in senior marketing roles for the Bar and law firms. He has a further decade of experience advising high profile corporate clients, government bodies and major trade associations on marketing and communications. David is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Edna Hackman

Edna is the Senior Fees clerk at 12KBW, and has been with us since 2016. She has been working in chambers for over 10 years and has worked at leading family and planning sets. She is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fees collection and management of barristers' fees, and works closely with barristers and clerks.

George Boggis

George joined 12KBW in January 2019 as a Practice Team Leader. He began his clerking career at 1 Crown Office Row in 2007 where he spent seven years' before joining Fountain Court Chambers in the summer of 2014. George is responsible for the day-to-day practice management of his team of barristers which includes developing their practice, diary management, allocation of new work and fee negotiation. George also focuses on developing and maintaining client relationships on behalf of Chambers. George is a member of the Institute of Barristers Clerks and has completed the BTEC Advanced Award in Chambers Administration.

Gosia Cyc

Gosia joined 12 King's Bench Walk in October 2008. She is chambers' Finance Manager, managing all finance matters and the administration of various operational responsibilities. Isaac Hogarth

Areas of expertise Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, Insurance, Fraud, Inquests Isaac has a specialist clinical negligence, personal injury and insurance practice. A large number of Isaac's instructions relate to cases involving life-changing spinal and brain injuries, chronic pain and fatalities. He is ranked as a leading junior in personal injury and clinical negligence in both the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners 2024. In addition to his injury practice, Isaac has a growing reputation as an insurance specialist and is often instructed to advise insurers and the MIB on technical coverage and indemnity issues. Isaac is an experienced advocate with an excellent track record at trials, joint settlement meetings and mediations. He is often instructed as a junior in high value claims, but also has extensive experience as sole counsel. In addition to his civil practice, Isaac is often instructed to provide representation at inquests, particularly those arising from deaths in hospitals and road traffic accidents.

Oliver Parkhouse

Oliver is the Director of Clerking at 12KBW. He began his clerking career at Old Square Chambers in 1998, gaining further experience when moving to Crown Office Chambers. He joined 12KBW in December 2016 and leads our clerking and administrative teams, with responsibility for the strategic management and development of members' practices and chambers as a whole. In addition to the management of chambers, Oliver works closely with his clerking team in the day-to-day clerking of members' practices. He is responsible for the business development of chambers and ensures a close working and open relationship with our clients. Thea Wilson

Areas of expertise Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, Inquests, Fraud, Costs, Industrial Disease, Credit Hire Thea specialises in Clinical Negligence, complex Personal Injury claims, and Inquests. Thea has a wealth of experience in handling cases involving delayed diagnosis, birth and pregnancy-related injuries, spinal injuries, brain damage, psychiatric injury, chronic pain and fatal accidents. Thea is particularly adept at handling complex quantum calculations. Thea's role as Assistant Coroner for Essex gives her insight and expertise in the inquest process. She regularly acts for interested parties at inquests, in particular in claims involving clinical negligence, road traffic accidents, and deaths in custody and is happy to advise on all aspects of the coronial process. Thea's expert knowledge of the CPR stands her in good stead in acting for and advising solicitors on procedural matters in relation to applications and appeals, and in respect of costs. She is sought after in cases with a potential fraud element and has a wide range of experience dealing with insurance coverage issues. Thea is regularly instructed by trade union organisations, local authorities, insurers, the NHS, and the MIB. With an eye for detail and a sympathetic manner, Thea is experienced in dealing with vulnerable claimants. Thea has represented victims of sexual and physical abuse both in civil claims and before the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority Tribunal. Thea is happy to accept cases on a CFA basis and is willing to consider Pro Bono instruction where appropriate.

Tristan Whigham

Tristan joined 12KBW in 2009 as a graduate recruit and is now a Senior Practice Manager. Tristan is responsible for the day-to-day practice management of his team of barristers. He also works closely with Director of Clerking, Oliver Parkhouse, in developing and maintaining client relationships throughout all of 12KBW's practice areas. Tristan sat as chairman of the Institute of Barristers' Clerks Career Development Committee between Jan 2016 - Nov 2018. He remains an active member of the Institute of Barristers' Clerks and sits on its Management Committee, as well as the Education Committee. Tristan was awarded Clerking/Practice Management Clerk of the Year 2019 by The Legal 500 (Legalease).
