Painting for me is a form of dance, a unique and intuitive act, an expression, a choreography of colour, light and movement. Over the years I have learned to get out of my own way and trust my creative process. Then when there is no more I can add or subtract from a work, I put down my tools... Experimenting and exploring, pushing the boundaries and technics searching for a resolution. While music blares out I work unconsciously using all the energy I can muster to add vivacity to the work. For me growth comes from challenging myself to work closer to the edge of fearlessness and intuition, making bold and spontaneous artistic choices. There are no failures, just challenges and opportunities to corral the work to where I instinctively want it to go... Commissioning a painting enables you to get involved in the artistic process, making it both a rewarding and creative collaboration, instilling the work with a personal authenticity.
