Birch Trail Camp

Birch Trail's basecamp in Minong is located on 430 wooded acres in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, with nearly 3,000 feet of shoreline and surrounded by beautiful forestry and many lakes and rivers. Bryant Pond 4-H Camp and Learning Center is nestled on the shores of Lake Christopher in Bryant Pond with 160 acres of forest and mountain trails leading to remote campsites, streams, ponds, wetlands and a mountain summit. The local area provides many opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts including rock climbing, backpacking, hunting and fishing, canoeing and a large winter ski and sport industry. Live in Maine and join a team of energetic outdoor professionals looking to share their love of the outdoors and sciences to people of all ages and backgrounds! Bryant Pond 4-H Center is seeking qualified, high-energy individuals to work in the Lakeside Classroom and Summer Camp programs. Field Teachers will provide groups of 8-15 students (primarily in the 5th-9th grade) with high quality programming in ecology, team building, challenge course, climbing wall and outdoor skills. Group management and group building skills will play an important part of your daily work routine. Compensation starts at $450/week plus housing, meals, Wi-Fi access and backcountry equipment use. Staff will live in rustic cabins heated by wood stoves. Shower facilities, kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry service are all available. Preference is given to those who are at least 21 years old with WFR certification and a Bachelor's degree in the environmental or adventure education fields (although those with other educational backgrounds are welcome to apply). Experience educating and managing children in an outdoor setting, multi-day backcountry trip leading, challenge course facilitation and ecology education are also helpful. Camp Augusta

Camp Carolina

Camp Carolina is an all boys camp that offers a balanced mixture of individual and team sports, nature, music, arts and crafts, high adventure and extreme sports. Summer Camp Staff include Cabin and Head Counselors, In-Camp and Head Activity Counselors, and Adventure Activity Counselors (plan and teach one or more high adventure activities such as rock climbing, whitewater rafting, canoeing, mountain biking, horseback riding, surfing, wake boarding, sea kayaking, fly fishing, backpacking-and so many more!) and Kitchen and Maintenance staff. Camp Chippewa

Located on the shores of Cass Lake and Buck Lake in Minnesota's Chippewa National Forest, Camp Chippewa is a nonprofit summer camp serving boys ages 8-17. Programming includes in-camp activities such as archery, canoeing, fencing, riflery, rock climbing, sailing, soccer, swimming, tennis, trap shooting and waterskiing, and off-site wilderness canoe trips to Ontario and Manitoba ranging from 6-20 nights. Camp Chippewa is now seeking young men who want to make a positive impact on young boys' lives through the development of relationships and connections as they are fully immersed in a beautiful, healthy, outdoor environment without distraction of technology and screens. As a Camp Counselor, you will be the one guiding campers and helping them focus each day on engagement, resilience, confidence, and leadership. With one other staff member you will be placed in a cabin with 4-8 boys of the same age group. Daily duties include wakeup, supervision during family-style meals, aiding in cabin cleanup, activity instruction, free time supervision, put to bed, and sleeping in your cabin overnight. The salary for successfully completing the 10-week summer program begins at $2,200, and includes room, board, laundry service, and 2 weeks of staff training (with Red Cross Lifeguard certification course). Additional compensation is offered to those with camp or counseling experience and advanced certifications. There is no WiFi access on camp property, and many staff elect to use their cellular data plan alongside coffee shop WiFi in Bemidji during days off. Facing challenging weather and difficult mountain terrain, snowmakers perform the physically demanding job of tending to the snowmaking equipment. Responsibilities include carrying equipment down the mountain, operating snow guns, safely working around high air and water pressures, clearing snow from snowmaking hoses, hydrants and equipment, and safely operating snowmobiles. Kingsley Pines is nestled on the shores of Panther Lake, sitting on over 100 beautiful acres. The Sebago Lake region is just 30 minutes from Portland and 2 hours north of Boston. If you are looking for a stimulating and rewarding experience where you can make a difference in a child's life, counselors, instructors and staff members at Kingsley Pines Camp enjoy the many rewards of outdoor (and indoor) fun. As the core of the camp staff, Counselors supervise, lead, guide and live with campers. Mountain Trail Outdoor School is a residential environmental education program serving students (typically in the 4th-8th grade) from both public and private schools from around the southeast. The 1,400-acre property has a diverse ecosystem ranging from streams and lakes to mountains and forest. Mountain Trail Outdoor School is seeking enthusiastic Instructors who enjoy working with youth and have a desire to teach in an outdoor setting. Responsibilities include teaching outdoor environment classes (ranging from a science curriculum that meets state standards to team building exercises and adventure-based programming), developing curricula and resources for the program, assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of campus teaching, habitat, and resource storage areas, completing projects assigned by faculty supervisors, and actively participating in the broader Kanuga community when opportunities arise. With nearly 1,500 acres of forested land in the Oconee National Forest, including a 110-acre lake, Rock Eagle is a natural meeting site away from everyday life. The Center is approximately 70 miles east of Atlanta and 40 miles south of Athens, home of the University of Georgia. Do you enjoy working outside and have an interest in teaching children? Inspire young people through experiential outdoor learning with the Rock Eagle 4-H Environmental Education Program. Environmental Educators and Interns will teach interactive classes and nontraditional activities that will take each student on a voyage of discovery where learning comes alive. Classes fall into four main categories: Ecology, Living History, Outdoor Skills, and Team Building. Positions are available during the spring (early February to late May) and the fall (late August to early December). Staff members generally work Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., with occasional weekend work. Benefits include an $11/hour wage, extensive training, a limited insurance policy, and access to a variety of recreational activities at the property. Housing with a private room and semi-private bathroom is provided for $20/week. Seasonal staff may also visit and stay overnight for free at the four other Georgia 4-H Centers.
