Dr Adesoji O Ademuyiwa

Dr Adesoji Ademuyiwa qualified from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1998 and is a 2007 Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons. He had his Fellowship in the Medical College of Surgeons in Nigeria (FMCS) in Paediatric Surgery in 2009. His residency training in Paediatric Surgery was at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals' Complex, Ile Ife, Nigeria. Dr Ademuyiwa has had some international travel fellowships and has visited a few Paediatric Surgical centres outside his principal area of practice in Nigeria. He has been a Visiting scholar/Clinical Fellow to Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa (as the Pan African Association of Surgeons Visiting Scholar), Great Ormond Street Children's hospital, Leeds General Infirmary, Kings College Hospital all in the United Kingdom (as the BAPS Hugh Greenwood Travel Scholar) as well as the Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus, Ohio, United States of America (as Stecker's International Scholar). Adesoji's areas of interest are: Gastroenterology surgery including minimal access surgery, neonatal surgery and colorectal surgery; as well as surgical education. Adesoji is currently the Chief of Paediatric Gastroenterology and Colorectal Unit at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital and he is an Associate Professor at the University of Lagos and he is a past Sub Dean of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences of the University. Adesoji has over 40 publications in the areas of his interest in peer review journals and he has presented some of his research works at international paediatric surgery conferences including BAPS and PAPSA (Pan African Paediatric Surgery Association).
