Ivor Moody has been Vice Dean and Canon Pastor of Chelmsford Cathedral since 2010. He is also Chair of the Mid-Essex Inter Faith Forum and also Chair of Essex Mind and Spirit, a community voluntary organisation which seeks to promote positive relationships between faith and spirituality and mental health issues, and to challenge the stigma which often surrounds mental health.
He has recently become Chaplain to the Essex County Council, and in 2017 had his first book published, called ‘Songs for the Soul'.
Ivor has spent all his professional life in the Diocese of Chelmsford. He served curacies at St. Margaret's Leytonstone and St. Margaret's Leigh on Sea, before becoming vicar of St. John the Baptist Tilbury Docks.
He then took up a post as University Chaplain at the Chelmsford Campus of the Anglia Ruskin University, before taking up his current post with Chelmsford Cathedral.
I have been a member of the Cathedral congregation almost all my life and I am particularly involved in music here. I want to see the Cathedral and its congregation grow together into the future.

Samuel is thoroughly excited to move to Chelmsford Cathedral after a year as organist at St Matthew's Church, Westminster, having held positions at St Paul's, Salisbury, Birmingham, and Coventry cathedrals.
He graduated with First Class Honours in 2019 from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, studying with Daniel Moult and Henry Fairs. He actively works as a recitalist and has broadcast on BBC Radio 3 & 4, and Songs of Praise on BBC1.
I have been attending the Cathedral for over ten years. My main interest and responsibility is the Family and Children's work, particularly the work of Junior Church. I also want everyone who comes through our doors to feel welcome and valued.
