COLLEGE SURGERY - Key Persons


DR BEN GREENWOOD

Dr Greenwood joined in 2015. He was born and raised on a smallholding in rural Hampshire. He moved to Cardiff to undertake undergraduate medical training, graduating in 2005 and completed his training as a GP in 2010. He spent some time travelling with his wife and working as a Locum GP in South Wales before relocating to Devon to settle and raise his family. He joined the practice in October 2015 and works 3 days per week. His particular medical interests are in Palliative care and musculoskeletal medicine. Outside of medicine he relaxes either on a bike, or sailing dinghy, or cooking and sharing good food with friends.

DR CLARE MATTHEWS

Dr Clare Matthews works part time between Uffculme and Cullompton surgeries. Dr Matthews' main interests are women's health and sexual health.

DR DAISY ROBINSON

Dr Daisy Robinson, BA (Hons), BMBS, mRCGP (2016) Daisy has been a partner since 2016 and works Tuesdays and Fridays at College Surgery including one morning a week at our branch surgery in Bradninch. She grew up in Cornwall and studied at Oxford and Nottingham universities before returning to Devon in 2008 to complete GP training. Daisy enjoys all aspects of general practice and has a particular interest in clinical education and community wellbeing. As Social Prescribing Lead for our Primary Care Network she set up the Culm Valley Youth Link Worker scheme for young people aged 11-18 yrs. She works as a Small Group Facilitator at Exeter Medical School and works one day a week with Devon Training Hub as part of the Clinical Leadership Team developing support and education opportunities for newly qualified GPs and wider members of the primary care team.

DR DAVID JENNER

Dr Jenner was born and brought up in Devon and has enjoyed working at C.S.P since 1990. He works 2 days a week in the practice.

DR EMMA RICHARDSON

Job Titles:

Dr Richardson became a Partner at College Surgery in 2020. She has a keen interest in lifestyle medicine, and has completed a PhD in neuroendocrinology and obesity. She is particularly passionate about sports and exercise, including cycling, swimming, yoga and running.

Dr Fiona Black

Job Titles:
  • Partner
Dr Fiona Black is a part-time partner. Dr Black trained in Scotland, and moved to Devon in 2005, when she joined the practice. She specialises in women's health and fits IUDs and implanons at the surgery. She enjoys teaching medical students here in the surgery.

Dr Hilary Harris

Job Titles:
  • Senior Partner
Dr Hilary Harris is the Senior Partner working here at Cullompton. Dr Harris has been a GP at College Surgery since 1998. She enjoys the variety of General Practice and has valued getting to know a group of patients over many years and seeing them through various life events and health issues. Her interests include walking, cycling, gardening and anything that involves being in the fresh air

Dr James Rowbury

Dr James Rowbury is a partner and works part time. He trained at UCL London qualifying in 1998. Dr Rowbury's interests include training, primary CVD prevention and general practice.

DR JESSICA BENNETT

Salaried GP Dr Jessica Bennett is a part time GP working 2 days at Cullompton and Uffculme. She studied at Southampton University, and spent a year working in New Zealand before returning to Devon, where she grew up, to complete GP training in 2019. Outside of medicine she enjoys being with her young family and spending time outdoors.

DR JOHN KEKWICK

Dr John Kekwick was born and raised in rural mid Devon. Dr Kekwick undertook undergraduate Medical training in Liverpool and then moved to Bristol in 2004 where he completed his training in General Practice. In 2009 he was thrilled to move his family and career back to Devon. Having undertaken various locum positions in the area he took up a position at College Surgery in October 2011. Whilst enjoying all aspects of General Practice, he has particular interests in care of the Elderly and Palliative care.

DR KIERAN CROWLEY

I completed my medical degree in 2013 and then worked in London and on the south coast for the next two years. Following this I moved to Australia and worked in A&E. I completed GP training in Devon and have been working at the surgery since 2019. I have a particular interest in medical education. I live in Exeter with my wife and son. When away from the Practice I enjoy spending time in the Devon countryside.

DR LORNA MASON

Dr Lorna Mason completed her medical training in Birmingham in 2007, having first studied Biology at Exeter University. She joined College surgery in 2013 and is now a partner. Her particular areas of interest include contraception and lifestyle factors that affect health, especially nutrition. She enjoys learning about the lives of her patient's and having an input into the health and well-being of entire families.

DR MICHAEL DIXON LVO

Dr Michael Dixon works one day a week in the practice as a semi retired GP. He chairs the Council of the College of Medicine, which emphasises the importance of non-biomedical interventions in health and care, which include social prescription, lifestyle interventions and complementary and traditional approaches. He is visiting Professor at University College London and at the University of Westminster.

The Practice Manager is responsible for the general management of the Surgery. She is supported by a team of staff, all of whom work extremely hard to ensure the smooth running of the Practice so that you get the services you need.
