Christian von Arnim

Following graduation from Edinburgh University in 1977, Christian von Arnim pursued a successful career as a freelance translator and staff journalist, first with BBC Monitoring and BBC World Service, and then as foreign affairs leader writer and feature writer on The Scotsman. In 1995 he set up his own translation and editing business Christian von Arnim Communication. Clients include translation agencies, language service providers and government agencies, as well as publishers and other direct clients. Although his major clients come from the business world, other projects have ranged from programme translation and subtitling for the Edinburgh International Festival as well as voiceovers (for The Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh for example) to coffee table books as diverse as a history of BMW, the Monaco Grand Prix and Gothic architecture. He continues to work as a freelance journalist and is editor of the Internet news agency NNA. Bilingual in German and English, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Linguists. Christian von Arnim Communications collaborates closely with its long established partner in Germany, DIALOG corporate communications which offers a range of complementary services. Together they provide expert support in German and English.
