Douglas has worked with a variety of groups and individuals, both in Scotland and abroad, and has produced a unique and innovative portfolio of work. Materials he uses include a variety of flat and processed glasses, sometimes in combination with other non-glass elements. The range of techniques used spreads across a broad spectrum of activity, including the use of traditionally applied paints, stains, enamels, gilding, acid-etching, while introducing screenprint, airbrush, cold processes, and heat-formed elements into an expanding remit of contexts and non-traditional uses of the material in architecture.
