Dr Effie Mutasa-Gottgens is Senior Scientific Officer in the Industry Partnerships Team with responsibility for delivering the EMBL-EBI Industry Programme and collaborating on developing strategy, with particular focus on agriculture and food.

Dr Matt Hall is a Senior Scientific Officer in the Industry Partnerships team, with primary responsibility for coordinating and delivering the EMBL-EBI Industry Programme. This involves working with the team to plan, develop and deliver knowledge exchange workshops and quarterly strategy meetings.

Emily joined the Training team in February 2020 as an Event and Marketing Officer working closely with the EMBL-EBI Industry team on a variety of programme member workshops and marketing projects.
In 2008, Emily graduated with a 1st Class Ba (Hons) in Photography from the University for the Creative Arts in Kent. She was introduced to the events sector while working as a receptionist in the UK and for a short time abroad in New Zealand.
In 2010 Emily joined the orthopaedic device company DePuy Synthes, owned by Johnson & Johnson Ltd. Here she spent 10 successful years based in Hertfordshire, as an Event Co-ordinator in a small team seconded to the AO Foundation; a not-for-profit global network dedicated to the education and research of surgical treatment of trauma and musculoskeletal disorders. The role included managing local logistics and marketing for a number of surgical training courses around the UK and Ireland.

Lucie Smith joined EMBL-EBI in 2015 initially in the Strategic Project Management Office before joining the Training team with specific focus on Industry workshops and events.
Having run her own international event management company for over 20 years, Lucie has expertise in the creation and management of a wide variety of business events worldwide.
Providing professional event management across all sectors including pharma, technology, and finance worldwide. Lucie has specific knowledge around cross-cultural events, networking, online registration, external speaker liaison, and travel management.
